He needed to put the contents of his studio apartment into storage...a week before his lease was up. Lakeview Movers was able to help him at the very last minute. They were friendly, quick, efficient, and very affordable. He doesn't have a car and was planning to take a cab to/from the storage facility. The movers offered to take him to the storage facility...and then they gave him a ride back home! Awesome customer service. He plans to use them again when he brings his things out of storage and into a new apartment.

Shawn's ad immediately stood out from the rest because it linked to his yelp page- hooray! I am forever grateful for this means of getting the real scoop, and think it's a great idea for smaller companies/laborers to have a page that sets them apart from the sketchier folks on Craigslist. The glowing reviews were right on the money! Shawn and Eden left my apartment less than a half hour ago and I'm happy to give them another great review. My move was as below: -From a 6th floor apt with an elevator that leads to the back alley to a 3rd floor apt with no elevator, approx 2 miles away. -One medium sized sofa (3 cushions across), 2 ottomans, 1 dinette/breakfast table for two, and 1 very tall bookshelf Not too much stuff, and Shawn quoted me a $120 flat fee for two movers and his pick up truck. Though it's not necessarily INexpensive, compare it to big companies, who charge an average $90/hr for two movers, with an avg 2 hour minimum and $45 travel fee. I think I got a great deal, and if I had paid much less I would have worried that I was exploiting some hardworking folks. Shawn and Eden were about 20 minutes late- they did call me at 4:05 (moving time was 4p) to let me know they would be here soon. I was slightly annoyed, as I would have preferred a heads up before 4p, but can understand that that's not always possible. They started working as soon as their feet hit the ground, and the whole move lasted from 4:20-5:15ish, under an hour! Shawn and Eden were personable, quick, and careful with my possessions. They knew just how to angle my stuff so it fit into a teeny elevator. They made sure everything was tied down in their truck so nothing would accidentally fall out or anything. They also let me ride back to my apartment with them, which I appreciated a lot. Four stars for the obvious reasons- they only have a pick up truck, and no insurance. No packing materials are provided, so wrap your own sofa/mattress if you're worried. But I would definitely recommend them for smaller, simpler moves like mine! A few things to keep in mind- always offer your mover some water! I was so surprised to hear that I was their third move of the day- and the smallest by far, it seems- and the first to offer water. And, try to build in as much flexibility into your moving day as possible, so that you aren't overstressed when the unexpected occurs, which is all too likely to happen. I would say 99% of movers don't enjoy being late to their next job, and 99% of the time it's not their fault- the office folks offered misleading estimates, a service elevator went bonkers or a reservation was screwed up, the previous customer underestimated the amount of crap they had, etc. I have found movers to be some of the most hardworking guys around and on the receiving end of a lot from stressed out customers, and it shouldn't be that way. They did arrive 30 mins late but they did move things quickly and we were overall happy until we realized the movers had broken our tv. When we asked for reimbursement for the damage, they then wanted to claim it's an "insurance liability" for them to even move tv's that aren't in boxes - to which I stated WE DIDN'T EVEN SIGN A CONTRACT FOR OUR MOVE!! We also communicated with the movers the whole time and told them to let us know if there was anything we needed to move! Upon me calling them out on the lack of contract several times, Orlando; the owner's son said they would pay us. We confirmed details via texts which I attached. Orlando stated a $200 payment would be sent on 7/13 (for whatever reason they couldn't pay us the same day) and surprise - they have since ghosted on communication with us! We moved on June 29th by the way, So this makes 2 weeks and no resolution. To even have to hassle THIS much and be asked to WAIT to get reimbursement for damage that you all have done is insane and unprofessional.

He was super communicative about the timing, since my move was later in the day and dependent on how the earlier scheduled moves went. The price was the best I found in Nashville because they don't charge you for tons of extra fees, and the guys all took great care of my stuff- especially seeing as I had a few boxes that wouldn't close at the top. They literally worked until 10pm at night to make sure the job was done, and they were personable and friendly through the whole thing. Made the move easy and fun. Loved em, five stars for sure. Pro-tip: if you live/are moving to a high-rise like me, see if you can reserve a service elevator in advance- it will greatly save you and the guys time and money.

As a realtor, I didn't even have a company I could recommend to my clients, however on my recent personal move I received a postcard from This Side Up - a relative new comer to the area and decided to give them a try after meeting their area manager Jacob. They turned up promptly, managed to get their vehicle up my driveway (no other company had been able to do this) without causing damage and the crew worked diligently all day with humor and the utmost care. They even reassembled my daughters bed better than the original bed company. A couple of items were left off the truck since I had under estimated the amount of boxes I would have. Rather than cram them on and risk damaging items, they came back the next day at no additional charge. They also disconnected and reconnected my washer and dryer as part of the service. Got three ( nice ) young men BUT sadly, they did NOT do a good job ( as you can see from tne attached photos ) They actually left one side of each piece uncovered/unwrapped then put THAT side on the BOTTOM of the dolly and DRAGGED it...damaging three pieces. I didn't realize I would need to tell/ show/explain to them how to do their job properly. They ONLY had about 12 pieces of furniture to move, and although not 'heirlooms', certainly, more care could of been taken. Owner comped me $75, saying he wasn't "sure" his guys did the damage Really? Three relatively new pieces ALL damaged on the UNWRAPPED portion discovered upon arrival at the new location? Also, was 'advised' by the owner Ben to pay for 3 workers, so that one would ALWAYS stay with the truck ( and stuff inside ) THAT was NOT the case, as they all worked together leaving the truck unattended in the parking bay. Everything was padded and wrapped to perfection! They moved so quickly. On top of that, they have an hourly rate with no hidden fees so I knew exactly what to expect!
