Prices were very upfront and honest (I didn't feel like I was being taken for a ride). On the day of packing, Peyton, Brandon and Chase arrived. All three of them were a breath of fresh air. I was stressed, tired and anxious the night before and then the three of them arrived the next morning. All three of them were cheerful, friendly, and lovely. They approached the (not-so-fun) task of packing up a house with a refreshing energy that I didn't realize I needed. BUYER BEWARE. We hired 6th Man Movers to move from our 3800 sqft home. They sent a quote stating they would only need 3 movers and 8 hours to complete the move. I asked if they do onsite inspections prior and stated my verbal list of what needed moved would suffice. I offered to take a video of every room so they would have a better understanding. After seeing that video they acknowledged they were prepared. I received an updated quote later stating they only needed 2 movers and 8 hours. They are the moving professionals so I didn't question it further. On moving day the movers arrived in a 26' box truck about an hour after their scheduled 2 hour window. Upon arrival the movers reviewed everything that needed moved and called their manager to advise they were definitely short 2 people and another truck. This delayed the move even further. The company had no one else to send. It took them 8 hours to pack the truck and it ended up being only 1/2 of what needed moved. Due to the delays and insufficient staff our apartment wouldn't allow them to move in and we had to reschedule for the next day. On the next day, the movers arrived 2 hours late beyond their scheduled 2 hour window. After all was done, they tried to charge me double the cost of the estimate. I tipped the movers very well because it wasn't their fault their operations team was incompetent. The company discounted the double charge by 20%. Even after explaining to the BBB, they decided not to correct their mistake further. I ended up spending $1000 more than anticipated. BEWARE hiring them and ensure you don't get taken like we did. They were flexible with making an intermediate stop at a storage facility to drop off some furniture before making our way to my new home. Overall, I would recommend 6th Man Movers and would use them again. The quote process was easy and everyone I spoke with was professional and happy to explain pricing and any other questions I had. On move day, the two gentleman assigned to my job called ahead and showed up promptly. They were both very courteous and happy to help move some additional small items I had not taken care of myself. Why not a 5-star review? After the move, upon inspecting my furniture, I saw a few things had been scratched or dinged. This could have been avoided if the guys had used the moving blankets they brought with them. In the interest of speed, they seemed reluctant to take the extra few minutes to drape a blanket over things unless I specifically requested it. So, my advice to other customers is just to be diligent about making sure the movers are protecting your items during transport. read more

These guys were amazing. They got here RIGHT at 1pm (where the block of time was 1-3pm) which was super unexpected as I'm used to movers coming at 2:50pm or honestly 4pm in some cases. They were so nice and quick with the move, no issues with breaking down the bed frame a bit, and had everything done in a little over 2 hours for a 1-bedroom apartment. Stairs at both locations--no problem for these guys! They were very friendly the entire time and I felt like my furniture was in good hands. They wrapped it all up excellently. We had an excellent four-man (two trucks) crew for our in-town move. From the time they arrived they jumped right into prepping our furniture for loading. Once they had the loading complete, they headed to our new home (less than 10 minutes away) and immediately began unloading. In addition to contacting us in the morning as to their expected arriveal time, their supervisor visited with us around midday (during the loading process) to ensure everything was going according to plan. He also set our expectations as to when he thought the job would be complete. They crew hit the target within 30 minutes of expectations. The move into our new home was a bit challenging as we had recently refinished the hardwood floor and installed new carpet. The crew was very attentive our requests and moved through the unloading and staging of furniture and boxes at our direction. The crew took a short lunch break, and were onsite for almost nine (9) hours--including some extremely heavy/cumbersome items that were placed on the second floor. Overall, an excellent job.
