The other day I was reminded that people are often much quicker to voice their frustrations than…read morethey are to acknowledge good service. I happened to overhear a woman yelling at the staff at my storage facility, making accusations and saying things that, based on my own experience, were wildly untrue. It actually inspired me to take a few minutes out of my day to share my experience with this location and the company as a whole. I've been using SecureSpace Storage for quite some time now, and I think it's worth giving credit where credit is due. First and foremost, the facility is consistently clean and well-maintained. From Krystal to Scott and Ivi and everyone has always been friendly, helpful, and attentive. They're regularly around, tending to the building, keeping things in order, and making themselves available when needed. Sure, there have been a few minor technological glitches here and there, whether with a door sensor or a lock, and occasionally something might need to be cleaned up. But that's going to happen just about anywhere. What matters is how those things are handled. If you see something, say something, and it gets cleaned up. At least, that's consistently been my experience at this location. Beyond this particular location, I also want to give credit to SecureSpace as a company. I've had a couple of issues over the years, one involving my rent and another involving a refund. In both situations, the company went out of its way to make things right. And to me, that says a lot more about a business than simply never having a problem in the first place. Now, my biggest complaint? Well, like just about everything else these days, the rent is too damn high! LOL. But on a more serious note, my one philosophical disagreement with the company is its approach to pricing and customer loyalty. Rent increases once, sometimes twice a year, while new customers are offered promotional rates to move in. I've always found that a little backward. If those increases eventually drive away a loyal customer, the company is left with an empty unit that it may have to discount just to fill again. Wouldn't it make more sense to retain someone who's already paying the regular rate, rather than risk losing that steady revenue only to offer the same space to someone else for less? I understand the business strategy behind introductory pricing, but I've always believed there's value in rewarding loyalty rather than continually testing it. That said, I don't want my disagreement with the company's pricing philosophy to overshadow the genuinely positive experiences I've had with the people who work there or the way the company has handled my concerns. Every business has its imperfections, whether it's a storage facility, an apartment complex, or just about anything else. I don't expect perfection. I do appreciate people who take pride in their work and a company that's willing to make things right when something goes wrong. This is a genuine review from someone who has actually used their facilities for an extended period of time. From my very first phone call to inquire about storage, to the staff working at this location, to the corporate customer service representatives I've dealt with over the phone, the experience has been consistently positive. So, after hearing someone screaming and yelling about a place I've had such a different experience with, I felt compelled to share my side of things. And bless her, too. She was probably going through it! LOL. But she was saying a lot of things that were the complete opposite of what I've personally experienced, and I figured I'd get my two cents in just in case she came on here looking to tear apart the building or its staff. Good people, a clean facility, and a company that genuinely makes an effort to take care of its customers. It doesn't get much better than that. And that's the frustrating part, because it means it's actually worth what I'm paying! And corporate, please don't read that and take it as an invitation to raise my rent again. I'm complimenting you, not negotiating against myself! LOL.

Horrible. We've been here 10 months and they've raised the prices 3 times!!! They get you in on a…read morecertain price, let you move in, then raise prices. 3 TIMES!! That's bait & switch. Scum!! Also it sucks. Elevators never work, there's NEVER enough carts. Here right now & had to defend my cart from being taken by someone who decided he's more important than everyone else. The bathrooms are often unusable (truly unusable, like poop covered). Don't plan on a bathroom here. Garbage. Tweakers. The regular fun Everett stuff. Don't let the newness & somewhat fresh paint fool you. It's just another horrible business taking your money & not repairing facilities. Also, the nice reviews you do see, it's because the employees who sign you up, beg you to write a review. They say they get bonuses from them or something. They really really push you to write a review. I'm glad I waited!! Knowing what I know, I would NEVER SIGN UP HERE!! Run. And again. The elevators don't work. Here right now. No elevators. And they don't care. Some people can't even access their units to move into/out of. Who can carry heavy boxes up/down stairs!!

I recently leased a 5x5 storage unit at this facility. However, I never moved any items in to the…read moreunit because of my poor experience upon move-in, and I cancelled my lease before the first month was up. I requested a refund of my rent and move-in fees, but was not granted one. Upon arriving at the storage facility on my move-in day, I followed the directions I was sent in an email from Secure Space and attempted to unlock the gate using the provided gate code. The code did not work. I went to the manager's office for assistance and after a few minutes he was able to get me logged in to the online system, which I was for some reason not fully processed in yet, despite signing a lease and paying the full balance the day before. I proceeded through the gate, which now worked with the code, and went to my assigned unit. Upon driving around the facility, I noticed many piles of items and what appeared to be garbage left around. I found my unit, which was down several hallways. The outside door leading to the hallways was unlocked. The directions stated that I should find a combination lock on the door to my unit, and use the code provided to open it. However, rather than finding a combination lock on the door to my unit, there were two blue locks requiring a key. I returned back to the manager's office again to troubleshoot the lock problem, only to find him gone and a sign on the door saying he would return at 5:00, even though it was after 5:00 at that point. I called the number listed on the office door and was directed to a woman who worked for Secure Space. I explained the situation regarding the locks and my inability to enter my unit. She expressed concern that the manager was not in the office and said she would try to contact him. She was unable to get a hold of him and told me to "wait outside the office for 15-20 minutes to see if he'd show up". She said she would then call me back to follow up. I waited outside the office for 25 minutes without seeing anyone. At that point, I decided to drive back to my unit to see if perhaps the manager was there or busy working somewhere else on the property. I could not find him. I parked outside my unit and called the number back that I had previously talked to, and this time was connected with a male. I explained the situation again. He stated that he was the manager and that he left a sign on the office door saying he'd return at 5:30, hence his absence. This was not true-the sign said 5:00. He was unapologetic about the situation and seemed frustrated with me. However, he said he would run down to my unit to help me troubleshoot the locks. I waited outside my unit for another 15 minutes. Still the manager did not show up. Finally, I called again. He said he was on his way. A couple minutes later, I saw him coming around the corner towards the entrance to my unit. Again, there was no apology on his part for the inconvenience. Together we walked to the unit where I showed him the two locks on the door. He said that he had to go get a tool and physically cut the locks off of the door. He left again and came back with a large set of cutters and then proceeded to cut off both locks. Upon opening my unit, the manager looked inside and stated that the unit hadn't been swept out and that he'd be back with a broom. I waited for him to retrieve it and looked inside to find the floor of the unit littered with debris and a pile of what appeared to be dried excrement in the corner of the unit. A few minutes later, the manager returned with a broom and a large shovel. He attempted to pick up the dried excrement off the floor with the shovel, but a stain was still left. He stated that he'd refund the price of my lock for the inconvenience (this never happened). Then, he left me to move in. Unfortunately, at that point it had been over an hour since I had arrived at the facility and I felt neither safe nor taken care of. I did not want to move any of my items into a dirty unit where there had just been excrement on the floor. I left and had a car full of items that I was unable to store. I wrote a thorough e-mail detailing my experience to Secure Space customer service, and never heard back. Finally, I simply cancelled my lease because I didn't want to be charged for another month at a unit I was not using. I was never refunded the price of the lock, as the manager had promised, nor was there any response to my concerns. Overall, my experience with Secure Space Lynnwood could not have been worse. I would not feel safe storing my belongings at their facility, no matter how low the price.
