I happened to overhear a woman yelling at the staff at my storage facility, making accusations and saying things that, based on my own experience, were wildly untrue. It actually inspired me to take a few minutes out of my day to share my experience with this location and the company as a whole. I've been using SecureSpace Storage for quite some time now, and I think it's worth giving credit where credit is due. First and foremost, the facility is consistently clean and well-maintained. From Krystal to Scott and Ivi and everyone has always been friendly, helpful, and attentive. They're regularly around, tending to the building, keeping things in order, and making themselves available when needed. Sure, there have been a few minor technological glitches here and there, whether with a door sensor or a lock, and occasionally something might need to be cleaned up. But that's going to happen just about anywhere. What matters is how those things are handled. If you see something, say something, and it gets cleaned up. At least, that's consistently been my experience at this location. Beyond this particular location, I also want to give credit to SecureSpace as a company. I've had a couple of issues over the years, one involving my rent and another involving a refund. In both situations, the company went out of its way to make things right. And to me, that says a lot more about a business than simply never having a problem in the first place. Now, my biggest complaint? Well, like just about everything else these days, the rent is too damn high! LOL. But on a more serious note, my one philosophical disagreement with the company is its approach to pricing and customer loyalty. Rent increases once, sometimes twice a year, while new customers are offered promotional rates to move in. I've always found that a little backward. If those increases eventually drive away a loyal customer, the company is left with an empty unit that it may have to discount just to fill again. Wouldn't it make more sense to retain someone who's already paying the regular rate, rather than risk losing that steady revenue only to offer the same space to someone else for less? I understand the business strategy behind introductory pricing, but I've always believed there's value in rewarding loyalty rather than continually testing it. That said, I don't want my disagreement with the company's pricing philosophy to overshadow the genuinely positive experiences I've had with the people who work there or the way the company has handled my concerns. Every business has its imperfections, whether it's a storage facility, an apartment complex, or just about anything else. I don't expect perfection. I do appreciate people who take pride in their work and a company that's willing to make things right when something goes wrong. This is a genuine review from someone who has actually used their facilities for an extended period of time. From my very first phone call to inquire about storage, to the staff working at this location, to the corporate customer service representatives I've dealt with over the phone, the experience has been consistently positive. So, after hearing someone screaming and yelling about a place I've had such a different experience with, I felt compelled to share my side of things. And bless her, too. She was probably going through it! LOL. But she was saying a lot of things that were the complete opposite of what I've personally experienced, and I figured I'd get my two cents in just in case she came on here looking to tear apart the building or its staff. Good people, a clean facility, and a company that genuinely makes an effort to take care of its customers. It doesn't get much better than that. And that's the frustrating part, because it means it's actually worth what I'm paying! And corporate, please don't read that and take it as an invitation to raise my rent again. I'm complimenting you, not negotiating against myself! LOL.

Also it sucks. Elevators never work, there's NEVER enough carts. Here right now & had to defend my cart from being taken by someone who decided he's more important than everyone else. The bathrooms are often unusable (truly unusable, like poop covered). Don't plan on a bathroom here. Garbage. Tweakers. The regular fun Everett stuff. Don't let the newness & somewhat fresh paint fool you. It's just another horrible business taking your money & not repairing facilities. Also, the nice reviews you do see, it's because the employees who sign you up, beg you to write a review. They say they get bonuses from them or something. They really really push you to write a review. I'm glad I waited!! Knowing what I know, I would NEVER SIGN UP HERE!! Run. And again. The elevators don't work. Here right now. No elevators. And they don't care. Some people can't even access their units to move into/out of. Who can carry heavy boxes up/down stairs!!

First of all, the facility is very secure and I feel very comfortable storing my things there and being on the property even at night. Each renter has their own individual entrance code to get beyond the gate and to take the elevator. The elevator will only take the renter to their individual floor, adding another layer of security. Another cool thing is that on many of their units the door is on the wide side of the unit (e.g., for a 10 x 5, the door is on the 10' side) which makes it really easy to access your stuff without having to take a bunch of stuff out. When I first started storing there I worked mostly with Tiffany, the manager. She provided great customer service and was always willing to go the extra mile to answer questions and provide me with additional information. On top of that she is very friendly and positive and it makes for great interactions with her. I recently began working with Scott, the assistant manager, when I needed to upgrade to a bigger storage space. I wasn't sure what size I needed and I was in a time crunch, so I was frazzled and indecisive but was so grateful that Scott was so patient and helpful. He was very understanding and worked to make the transition go smoothly even with all my indecisiveness. He really went the extra mile to find me a solution to my expanded storage needs that was close to my current storage space and without incurring a lot of extra costs. I am really grateful for his help during this stressful time. I also had the pleasure of working with Colby, who was in training when I met him. He presented as very knowledgeable and personable and was very willing to help provide a great customer experience. Thank you to all of you!

Everyone is hurting in today's economy, but these guys have no qualms about raising your rent time after time after time. We have paid our rent diligently for several years (at least five, but I'm unsure of the exact number). We pay on time every time and we've never been late. That doesn't matter to them. I don't know the exact measurements of our unit, but it's not a big one. I think it's 7x10. The advertised price for a 7.5 x 10 unit is $82 right now. It feels like a grift to me! The benefits of this place (security and cleanliness) are not worth the price. If you are going to get a storage unit, don't get one here unless you want to be faced with unending rent increases.

She was very helpful in implementing the process of getting us a storage donated. She was amazing to work with and very helpful in getting the process completed quickly and efficiently. We were able to store over 150 bags of clothes for the short time we needed. Its all very basic and while not upscale, far more affordable and a good secure storage spot in Seattle.

Which does mean you have to follow the rules, but what you get is the peace of mind that your unit is safe from theft or damage. Accessing the unit is easy, the bay is huge, the elevators are large, and I've never had to wait on someone else to access my unit. They have a bunch of dollies on site and their shop is very fairly priced if you need a lock, boxes or packing material. The building is gated making it even more secure. I highly recommend this place especially if your items are valuable or would benefit from temperate control.

I have rented a 10' x 30' unit for the last 6 years and although the rent price did increase periodically while it was Anchor Storage, it never jumped up in price like it recently has since being acquired by Iron Guard. Rent went up 80$ per month on my unit! NOTHING has been done to improve the facility. Gates are chincy and act like they don't want to open up all the way, turns and corners are so tight that it is extremely difficult to maneuver a moving truck or truck pulling a trailer. This is why the corners and sides of their units are all scraped up with paint from vehicles, storage units have openings in the roof line and my belongings are so covered in dirt and dust that has blown in and settled (and this storage facility is surrounded by industrial area, dirt parking lots for semi trucks and road construction so you can imagine how much dirt is flying around outside in the area). Also, and this is NASTY, so many of my belongings are covered in absolute filth from mice. Piss stains, poop droppings, mattresses and pillows that were in bags have been chewed into and left with holes. I went to the office at 9:30a this morning (they open at 9:00a). Open sign was turned off and door was locked. 9:00a opening time was posted on their window. I went to my car and tried calling the number for Iron Guard and their automated message told me to stay on the line and someone would be right with me. It played that message over and over for 10 minutes while I waited for them to answer their phone. They never did and they also never opened up their office during that time. I had gone there this morning to give my vacate notice. Guess I will have to waste my time again tomorrow. This makes me even more anxious to terminate my business with them. I do not recommend this storage facility at all. They are greedy and don't do anything to improve their grounds and units. Maybe new ownership will bring some needed changes but so far in the last 6 months I haven't noticed anything except for new signs that say Iron Guard Storage and the biggest increase in rent price that I have ever seen at a storage unit. Also, 172nd is a traffic nightmare and getting in and out of this place can be frustrating to say the least. With the Amazon building and tons of other construction in the area, it will only get worse.

I've had both indoor and outdoor access units and I would recommend both. They are all climate controlled and carefully insulated (and bug-proofed) to protect your property. I had to leave the state for an extended period and came back to a unit still perfectly intact with only a few spiders living near the door. No mildew on boxes, no humidity-warped papers, nada. The location is very secure with keypad code access, full CC camera system, and managers that live on-site. You have access from 6am-9pm 7 days a week whether the office is open or not and there is a bathroom at the office during working hours. The people are fantastic and they do automatic payments for units.

They were very prompt in answering any of my emails (initial inquiry and subsequent questions). The facility is very well maintained and I loved that they offered free use of their good sized box truck for moving. I was pleasantly surprised at how little gas it used (eco version) which was nice since I had to fill it back up before I returned it. Although we weren't storing anything extremely valuable, it was comforting to know that the electronic gate is accessed only through individually assigned gate codes so it felt like a safe secure place to store our goods. Slight miscommunication about terminating our rental agreement part way through a month and how the pro-rated rates would be handled....FYI ultimately you pay for the full month & get reimbursed for unused portion of the month upon vacating the space. But that was a small hiccup in an otherwise wonderful experience. We would definitely rent from Sherlock again.
