The most unreliable company. If there is anything going wrong at this place there is no one here to help. This one time I got lucky and there is a manager on site and guess what?!!!! I got here to take my boxes out at 11:30 AM. Have hired someone HOURLY and have taken time off from work to take my boxes out, only to see that "the elevator is out of service for maintenance" in the middle of the day, during work hours. There is no other elevators! That's the only elevator and The manager onsite has no idea how long this can take. 5 min or 5 hours! If you are late on payment by one day they will get a hold of you but they couldn't be bothered sending a mesage or an email. read more

Horror story.I had a reservation for the one in Sepulveda and Dolores the manager said''I am going to lunch so you have to wait 30 minutes until i come back from lunch'' ' i said no find me another unit around here and she did reluctantly. She sent me to the one close to them but gave me the wrong information about the unit.There was no special and wasted one and half hour waiting and going around in circles..I can understand she needs to go to lunch but making client waste time when we are paying help by the hour is not ok.I left and i will never come back.I paid my workers $80 more because of her mistake.They don't care about customer just money. read more

I made a reservation on-line for a first floor unit. I arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon to complete paperwork. Doors locked: no one visible in office. I tried to phone several phone numbers and all sent me to customer service texts. They had no record of my reservation (I sent a screenshot.) After 20 minutes a man appeared in office. He told me to access unit I had to climb a ladder. I'm in my 70's so said no. Then he found another unit 20% more expensive. I walked out. read more

At the Public Storage located at 8512 National Blvd, I was unable to exit with my car because I was 8 minutes past the 6:00 PM closing time. I had stepped away from my car and exited through the side door to enter the gate code from outside.However, the system only displayed a message saying the facility was closed, and I was unable to open the gate or return to my car.My car was left unlocked, and all of my valuables, including my house keys, were inside. I was completely locked out and stranded. At other Public Storage locations, customers are still able to exit the facility after closing time. They never lock customers in and leave them stranded like this. I contacted customer service, and the representative, whose name was either Felicie or Fossey, simply read from a script saying "The facility closes at 6:00 PM. Please come back tomorrow morning." She then hung up on me. It was the worst customer service experience I've ever had -- cold, unhelpful, and unprofessional. In the end, I had to call 911, and a police officer contacted them again. Only then did they open the gate remotely.Customer service was completely useless in an emergency. Even if it was past closing time, refusing to assist a customer in distress is extremely disappointing and shows a lack of flexibility and basic compassion. read more

Very unhelpful - manager refused to give us a dolly that was sitting in the front office since it was 7 minutes after 5 and she said they were closed. She said the dollies are being stolen - come back some other time. The dollies are supposed to be on the site at all times. Unbelievable service. read more

Do not get suckered read this! I left to Kuwait back in February 2024 and it is now May 2025. These crooks come up with any BS reason to raise your rent. The introductory offer to get me in the door was around $135, and a little over a year later my rent has gone up more than $50 every six months and now my monthly obligation is $306 which is more than doubled!! They said it was because of high demand, and that is total bullshit. When I was there in February 2024, the entire second floor was barely used by anyone. I think I saw a total of five or six locks indicating that someone was using it. There was an over abundance of empty storage units so I know damn well it has nothing to do with high demand. Within six months of me being gone, they raised it to 186 and then by the end of the year it became 230 the last time I checked. I checked my bank statement again only to find out that they raised it over $70 in the past four months ! Stay the hell away they are crooked. They are scammers. They are liars and good luck getting in touch with anyone over the phone. They might give you a $30 discount for three months, but it is breadcrumbs into comparison of how much money they raping you for. I am a real person who got f'd by these scam artists. Listen to me and everyone else who is rating at one star. There is a reason for it. Stay the F away!!! And now unfortunately, I have to fly back to America just to move all of my shit and they have caused me a ridiculous amount of stress! read more

First and foremost, I'm giving this place a three star because Miss Dana deserves five stars, but overall the establishment deserves one, even if that. Miss Dana, was amazing. Not only does she go above and beyond customer service but she resolved my issue in a professional and kind matter in a matter of minutes. I also witnessed her resolve a few more during my situation and I'm very much impressed! Public storage: She's (DANA) has such wonderful and kind energy, her customer service is appreciated by me and my bf and I want to say thank you again for being amazing. Bless you! As for the establishment -- I know issues may occur with rentals in this industry and all companies have standards rules and regulations but I do not agree to cutting off our locks. Yes your company should put a overlock on the second latch but at that point you guys just want to take more money from us with all the unnecessary lock cutting. There's so much more I can complain about like finding rat droppings and how it's always so hot in the building. BEWARE!!! Clean place with good customer service, BUT their business practice is to get you in then raise the rent dramatically. I had a 10x30 unit for a couple of years and had to spend about $1000 for a forklift, truck, and helpers to move out. Moved in with a rent of $593. After 10 months, it jumped 25% to $743. SUMMARY: Predatory business, Exorbitant price increases Avoid, its a rip off business model. They get you in at a price (for me it was 180/mo) and then will consistently move the rate up (after 2 years it was 340). So it almost doubled. When I called to try to get a fair price restored, first they made me play phone tag, and one even refused to talk to me at all without a "security code" which I didn't have. The ones that would talk to me claimed that they had to increase costs to make money, etc. Nobody would help me, I always "needed to talk to someone else" or "thats just the way the storage business works, too bad". What disgusted me was checking their current rates on their own website and seeing my EXACT unit at the EXACT same location still offered at the EXACT $180 price. So, this is a predatory business. They have calculated that they can make more profits by exorbitant rent price increases several times a year vs. advertising and signing up their new customers at a transparent but slightly higher price. This place is on my LAST nerve. I rent a unit here because of the proximity to my place. The initial sign up in 2021 was not an easy process but I got through it and moved on. Then came the unjustified rent increase. When I asked what the increase was based on, I got a vague/generic response. I asked the employee if he had gotten a raise or if it suddenly cost more to run a minimally staffed building? The access hours here are nearly useless. Neiman Marcus is open later than this place! I've rented storage here for years & finally fed up. Aside from having the MOST inconvenient hours (closes incredibly early & EVEN EARLIER ON WEEKEND which makes even less sense since most ppl move on weekends!), but their staff is always incredibly rude. Finished wrapping up in my unit today & it's pouring rain. I was already in my car by their 5pm close time, Gates were already closed/locked and an employee (lisa I think) kept me sitting their Locked in the gate for 20min & wouldn't come to the door to let me out. I have numerous bad experiences here but this was last straw. I plan to move my entire unit to a different storage together. Period. read more

Extremely disappointed in this location and their service to customers. I rented a 10x10 unit over the phone specifically ground level at this location. The unit was supposed to be 2nd month free so it all sounded good. During the start of my move in day I was traveling so I could not be there but arrived several days later to finally see the unit. When I arrived to view it, there was a large shelf obstruction in the back of the unit that would remove several feet of storage space on the ground. The entire reason I got a ground level unit was to store my motorcycle. When I saw the unit I realized there would be no way to pull my motorcycle inside as the shelf unit took up several feet on the ground and the height of the shelf was probably another 1-2 feet. It was never communicated to me that this shelving was in my unit. When I told them it wouldn't work they offered to move to another 10x10 unit but for an additional $50 per month and that I would not get the 2nd month for free. So then I asked for a refund and they said they cannot refund me for the month I just paid or even provide me a prorated amount for the time that has passed. They simply said no. Even though I literally have a unit that I rented that I simply cannot use and it was never communicated to me that there was an obstruction in the unit. I got it to store my motorcycle if I can't do that what's the point. The only person that seemed to try to help me was Steven with the situation. Even when I tried to escalate to corporate and spoke to Stella, they gave me no help and no options. They said either I can keep the same unit or I can cancel and lose the $400 I already paid for the month. Ridiculous. Will absolutely never in my life rent from this company again. Overpriced and they don't care about retaining customers. Never go here. read more

The people who helped me, I think their names were Miguel and William, though I'm not sure were stellar. If everyone was as professional in their work, the world would be a better place. They answered all my questions, walked me through the process and were one of the reasons I stayed there instead of going to another storage facility. I also observed them help an elderly man who required quite a bit of assistance; explaining things to him multiple times as he was hard of hearing. It was comical and sweet. Ever since day 1 of having my rental unit Demi has showed much great kindness going out of her way to make sure my unit is safe and that I am safe while I'm there. She has gone above and beyond to realize that I'm starting fresh and have to acquire everything to start my life over and the unit is where the items are going. I became homeless a little over a year ago, was assaulted 3 times, illegally evicted and had my life turn upside down by dome very lethal people. Worst experience ever. I had this storage unit in samta cruz for a year. They doubled my fee within that time. There was never staff available at this location. It cost me 160 dollars to get into my unit after my key was stolen. Coordinating having an outside party to get me in my unit was difficult because the staff wasn't there during office hours. When i.moved out of my unit they canceled my.reservation before i even confirmed my move out date. The day i moced out there was no cart available to move my belongings. There was one cart the whole year for over a hundred storage spaces. This cart was never easily located. Then so.eone took the onky cart and the co.oany did not replace it. It is so abseud there was only one cart for a hundred people for a year when i paid 150 dollars a month for this unit. When i called to complain the manager onsite was very unhelpful and offered no assitamce or solution to moving my heavy furniture that was 5p feet into the warehouse where my unit was located. He refused to offer me.a.prorated rate for my unit that i moved out halfway before the month. He also refused to give me any sort of a refund for my horrible.experience. this place ia a teue rip off. They also send the rent increases to spam so you never see them until its too late to move out. It is sneaky since all my other emails from this sotrage place go firectly to my.important mail. Worst experience of my life. This was the soquel storage. I would not recommend. ​​the manager also reassured me that complainging to upper management would not matter. read more
