Beware, beware, beware, valuables stolen, manager walked out on me immediately in the early afternoon, telling me there's no one here that can help me, no assistance in securing the unit. i moved out the next day to find more items missing. update: i first discovered items were missing on the 24th, i moved out on the 25th of october. i've left three messages since then requesting assistance, not one returned call until i left this review on google. oh now you want to help??!!!???!!!! easy to see where their priorities are. unbelievable!!!!!! you need a code to get in the facility, you need to code to get to your floor my, theres only three floors in the whole building!!!!!!! they saw me coming and going with my property (guitars, amps, equipment, etc) on almost a daily basis. i've had the one guitar for 23 years and played it almost every day. Everyone i've asked said it sounds like an inside job. i'll be looking into filing a rico conspiracy complaint with the state attorney general as well as a lawsuits against the company and employees. read more

Using this storage facility has been a nightmare. 0 stars, Do Not Recommend. The day of my reservation, I follow the instructions emailed to me, and came to check in at 11am. There was no one in the office and it was locked, in the middle of their posted business hours. After waiting for over 30 minutes (In case someone was on lunch break, which is understandable) and not a single person available on ANY of their multiple customer service phone numbers, or answering my calls and voicemails to the number posted on the door - the door which says 'WE'RE OPEN' - I could not wait any longer. When I got home to use my wifi, the only human being I could contact for A-N-Y of their customer service numbers, was a person on their website live-chat. After I explained my problem, that there was no one at the office and it was locked during business hours, the agent told me to call the same phone number that is listed as the main customer service number. I had already called this number, and been sent to voicemail, multiple times. But I called again in case I was mistaken. This agent told me the numbers to select to reach a live person on the phone. I followed these instructions, except that the extension they'd told me to press DID NOT EXISIT IN THEIR AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM. When I tried to tell her that I'm not finding that option, because the system is only giving me 1-4 options, not 1-6, and she told me to select 6, she disconnected from the chat. This was at 3pm PST. When I tried to start another chat, I got an automated message telling me that no chat agents were available, because it was after 5pm PST. At 3:02 PST. Finally, at 4:10pm, less than an hour before THEY CLOSE, someone from the company calls me back. She says something about staffing and that she went to a different location for the day. I'm still VERY confused how this has become my problem??? When I could finally check in, the day AFTER I needed to move, the person at the desk tells me that their elevator is broken. Definitely didn't take time looking online and PAYING EXTRA RENT for the storage unit WITHOUT an elevator. Booking here is a portal to the twilight zone, as if moving wasn't already stressful enough, THEY CAN MAKE IT WORSE. read more

I wish I read the reviews on yelp because you get to see more of people that been hurt by this company is a big scam to scam on poor people that trust them and they taking advantage of the situation to do anything they want but this need to stop somehow I was lie about the pricing first month free the next following month hundred dollar monthly to get you there Believe me next following month will be totally different price. I've been charging for the unit 5x5 $207 monthly And them next months will be $256 on their website the unit 5 x 5 is $156 just to get you there and them everything change on their favor this public storage you are a scam a big shark. This was the first time I have used storage space, but now I understand it is a trap! My rent keeps going up, not just a few dollars but almost double! They stopped it last time, after having been raised/doubled once, from mid 100 to mid 200, but still I was paying double I went in with. Now they want to add another $100. no notices, no conversation or options, just out for me to find it and figure it out. I called, they will not reduce, I said I will move out on the 5th, they said I am responsible for the whole month. Did I get a notice in time to move out before end of one month? NO...I have to pay what THEY say I have to pay??? This is fraud, scam, scum, everything terrible you can imagine! check out all the low ratings, they all say the same thing....beware! read more

This is a general review of Public Storage. I have 2 units in SAN ANTONIO TX but every month I have a huge problem in paying one [due to PS putting it in my son's name(?) don't know] I am living in CA temporarily and want to use autopay. I don't have all my files with me and PS won't help me to seamlessly pay that bill. They use AI that can't resolve anything, just rigidly transport you from one page to another in a circular way, so don't expect any real customer service or resolution of problems. Their AI is useless for the customer, and if you do manage to get a service rep, they can end the call abruptly before you even politely describe the issue. Complete waste of time. read more

Horrible experience with this Public Storage location. They never pick up or return calls after you leave dozens of voicemails. My storage unit is on the second floor and the only elevator to it has been out of service for months. I was given a phone number of the district manager, Michael Moldy, which never picked up or returned calls either after I left voicemails. To me, that's ridiculous customer service, years ago I used to have units at 3636 Beverly Blvd & 11200 W Pico Blvd and never had any type of issues. Today I vacated the place and the fact that everything had to go through stairs ended up costing me a lot more, I believe that Public Storage is responsible for the extra fees as the elevator should have been fixed a long time ago. The amount of money these people make off people storing more than compensates a repair. Not worth the value period... just noticed someone else complaining about the elevator 3 months ago. Shame on you guys, hope you go out of business soon read more

Great location. After 3 months they raise the rate by 33%!! Now the unit costs the same as a small studio where at least you could sleep in.

I been having a real tough time keeping up with rent increase over the years along with reoccurring late fees due to post pandemic and significant changes to the economy. I have used this facility for way too long. Their elevators break down without warning or alternative. I have seen puddles which have been standing for months without being cleaned up. They also will suddenly tell you the rent is increased significantly with only a two week warning email. The office is most often not staffed as they have to travel to multiple sites. Also, the gate doesn't always work so sometimes you're locked out and other times, they leave the gate open so that the premises is not secured! Absurd business practices and money drain. so far it's been a homerun here at this extra space storage! the team was hel and got me the price and into a unit with the first 20 minis of booking the unit online. considering I'm coming from a storage facility that's the complete opposite well I'm feeling blessed to have walked into a spot right off of Santa Monica blvd thats professiona, very clean, secure and gives the option of customer entry till almost 10pm! well again, thank you girls!!!! and thank you Extra Space Storage! Property manager is never present, when storage unit system is offline & you have a unit not on ground level, you're out of luck! Incredibly dismissive customer service that does not solve the issues but leaves you on hold for an hour & then hangs up the call. Do not recommend whatsover, find somewhere that actually cares about their customers. read more

The elevator has been broken for over a month and apparently will not be fixed for another month. They leave the door to the stairwell locked and have nobody on-site during hours they are supposedly open so you have no access to your belongings. read more

I give this unit two stars because it is clean and quiet and rarely crowded. However, I received a notice that after 5 months and 3 days, they intend to increase my rental unit monthly cost by almost $100, which would be approximately a 30% increase. This seems pretty unfair to me, regardless of their legal ability to do so, especially as the possibility of a price hike - much less this soon or this great - was never mentioned to me during my numerous in-person visits before securing the storage area. Maybe all storage facilities work this way and there is a need for regulation so customers are not price-gouged by companies that know it's difficult for them to make a change. I would not have chosen this facility if I knew I would have to pay this increased price as early as 5 months after my move in. read more

Where to start.....when it's time to make a payment or if you're a day late, they are ON THEIR JOB, they will constantly call, but let the tables be turned and YOU need their help, good luck. I would not recommend this location to ANYONE, not only is someone NEVER in the office (I almost missed my flight waiting 2 hours for no one to show up on the day and time I arranged with them the day before!), but on top of that,their elevator has been down for almost 5-6 months already, and the employees could care less. My response to "when will the elevators be fixed" was "no end date in sight" as she walked away with an "I don't care" attitude. I'm 115 lbs, my storage is on the 3rd floor and I damn near broke my ankle trying to drag stuff up those stairs and they have absolutely no compassion, not even an "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience" or anything. So until the elevator gets fixed, what should I do, spend MORE MONEY and hire movers? This is ridiculous and as soon as the elevator is fixed and I can properly move things without getting injured, I will be taking my place elsewhere.beware of this location!!! read more

Literally would not come here again! The people who work here do not know what they're doing. The person got lost showing me where a unit was or when I asked questions, he was very unsure. The elevators are breaking down. I had to transfer my unit because the one I rented was too big and unnecessary. I told them the online price was less than the in store price. They advised me to call the call center and have them lower the price. I called the call center in front of them and the call center said they can do it in store. They told me in store they would have to have their manager Mike take a look at it and lower it. I get a call and missed it so I called back and spoke to Megan. As I was trying to explain my situation, Megan was speaking over me and being VERY rude. I even asked her to let me explain what's going on but instead she kept repeating herself stating "its been denied. Call center doesn't know what they are talking about." The first day there, there was a argument between people over a mask and the dude without a mask spitted on the other customer. Me on the other had minding my business and keeping myself from the guy who spitted on the lady. Luckily I was able to get to my storage easily and was great and easy to get to would have given 5 star but morning people need to eat there breakfast that way they are not so angry or get a cup of coffee. But all I have to stay is I hope I don't have to see that dude again or be around something like that again. read more

The Hollywood Willoughby Public Storage is the Worst! Over the years, I have had repeated break-ins, unclean facility, elevators break down often, repeated raised rent rates for unknown reasons. The management has done nothing to secure my personal property stored in this facility. The screws in the panels above my unit were removed. The staff is unfriendly, unknowledgeable and terrible lack of customer service. They always appear to be on break. I do not recommend this facility if you value your property. read more

This place was great. I appreciated the convenience of paying online. They were the cleanest units I have ever seen and it was quiet enough to take a nap every night of the week, when I had to. HIDDEN GEM - I was researching the Public Storage facilities in my area in order to store some furniture short term. Definitely needed a ground floor unit as I'll have a lot of movement. Jovan went out of his way to accommodate me and it is greatly appreciated. I REALLY like that this PS is out of the way rather than being one of the huge facilities that are difficult to get in and out of. The only caveat to all this is that I wish the facility had longer hours for access - it's basically business hours on weekdays and weekends. read more

DO NOT RENT AT THIS STORAGE FACILITY OR ANY OTHER PUBLIC STORAGE BRAND! I rented an unit 4 months ago for $150 and not I got a letter in the mail saint that my rent is going to increase to $190!!!!!! Out of nothing. I called customer service and they were SO RUDE to me, saying that everyone is subjected to an increase within the first year. I've rented here before and had a more then happy experience both times. I wish I remembered the young lady who helped me out before but this time I was assisted by Jose. I made a reservation online, Jose called to confirm and set up a time for me to come in later that day to fill out paper work and begin my move. After I arrived he quickly got my paperwork started, helped me out with merchandise I needed and made sure to show me to my unit and walk me through all the steps of accessing it. Now that my storage space is no longer needed and I want to cancel, they want me to come in and speak to the manager to cancel. The person that was there in charge could not cancel my storage plan so they could squeeze another day had of me . If you think your valuables are safe in this homeless shelter that's robbed by its homeless overnight residents frequently, then this public storage is the place for you. You also may need to tiptoe over homeless people sleeping on the floor in front of your unit. Please try not to wake them from their beauty sleep, they sure as hell need it. If you tell the manager, district manager or the CEO of Public Storage all this, they will absolutely not do a damn about it. They must be charging the homeless extra to stay overnight to guard your valuables. If a homeless person asks you for a dollar as you walk to your unit, tipping is optional!! read more

Do not use this storage facility! All of my stuff was stolen from a unit at this storage facility. The management did nothing to help me and I was completely S.O.L. They make you buy an insurance policy when you rent, but they don't tell you that it's not safe. After the fact, I found out that there are cameras only at the front and back parking entrance, and not anywhere else. Also, someone was able to break into my unit with some heavy tools. Apparently I was targeted, along with 2 other people, and all of us had high tech audio and/or video equipment. Was it an inside job? The police caught the guy and according to them, he is a "professional" storage facility thief. How did he know mine was ripe for the picking? I honestly don't know. What I do know is that when I reported it to 2 different staff members and the district manager, nobody seemed surprised at all. GO FiGURE read more

BEWARE OF PUBLIC STORAGE. I rented a space at public storage and what a mistake that was. My family was in hard times and I was late on a payment. All they did was put a late fee and a lien charge. They are thieves. All they wanna do is auction your property. My location was north hollywood on vanowen. The girls in charge there r gabby and eileen. They r 2 of the most unhelpful idiots I have ever met. They work at pubkic storage but they think they are lawyers. I called their corporate office and they were just as rude as the 2 morons in north hollywood. This is a bad company that onky trys to obtain ur belongings as soon as they can.
