    Rat Traps
    Jenny R.

The location at 4865 E Tropicana in Las Vegas is RAT INFESTED. Management was notified at the facility, and we were advised to file an insurance claim (which only covers $250 of vermin damage). We tried multiple times to speak to someone at Corporate with no luck. We notified them we were moving out after giving them a week to respond. We spent an entire weekend disinfecting and moving our items - and throwing out many things that just couldn't be cleaned effectively (such as soft-sided suitcases). And they are trying to charge us another month of rent because we were on the property one day past the move-out date! The facility has giant rat traps zip tied to pipes leading into our unit. There was so much rat poop and urine everywhere we had to wear face masks.

Seems to be a very nice storage place. It was very clean and easy to access. Manager seems to be a very nice lady and very informative.

I ended up parking the truck to the far back (when she said front), but still was so patient with me. Thats when Ed and inspected the truck and told me I need a little more gas. They both were very friendly and patient. I will definitely be going there again when I need a moving truck. Tracie and Ed deserve a raise!

This is a BUYER BEWARE warning, as my issues with this location have to do with the raising of…read morerates, and not the service or staff. I moved in last December(2024) and acquired a 5'x10' unit, which wasn't the best price, but this location is within 5 minutes from my current home. When I was moving in I ran in to a nice guy in the elevator who was moving out and warned me that day, how this location will raise rates without much warning. He was moving out as he refused to pay the higher rates, as he had just recently moved in, and they had already raised his rates. I was moving in that day, and well, not much I could have done either way, but in due time, my rates did in fact go up with a 1 month warning, due to higher cost the facility had to now pay was the excuse given. I rent a small space, that I didn't enter or touch in almost 6 months, so not really sure what cost there was that justified $20 more per month(when there were tons of deals offered for new units online), but there it was. I planned to move out sooner, but had an emergency home repair that delayed it a few months, but I have now moved out. I had a unit ages ago at another storage place, and I was there several years with maybe one $5 increase, maybe? And let me say, the staff here was great, always friendly, other people who had units were always pleasant(helped out, held doors, elevator, etc.), the building was always clean, overall a nice place. But when you raise rates knowing most people have few other options in the moment, I find that disgusting. I was very fortunate in that I'm going through a divorce, and my wife moved out abruptly, so that gave me storage space in my garage I didn't have before. For many people in between homes, cities, or even jobs may not have an option of moving elsewhere, or the money to even do so. Giving a 1 month notice on raising rates, when you haven't been there a year, is just taking advantage of people in possible bad life situations. I don't know if places offer contracts that they won't raise rates for a specific period, but if they exist, I would suggest a place like that over this Storage One. What was to stop them from raising my rates again in 3 months, or 6 months? Nothing, as it is left to the powers that be, and if they want and need more money because they can there isn't much you can do. Sadly, this is the world we now live in, and really the only thing I can do as an individual is to warn others. So, consider yourselves warned, and I hope this helps someone not get in to a situation, that they can't easily get out of.

I have accompanied a friend to this storage facility many times. Today, a woman (who I'm guessing…read moreis a manager), was very rude to us. She stopped us and told us after we were inside the facility that we needed to put in the user code for the unit we were visiting. As we had stuff that we were bringing up, we decided to simply enter it when we came back in. About 10 minutes later, she tracked us down and said she was putting in a warning that we did not do it immediately and the next time my friend would be asked to vacate. While the intentions of having a secure environment are great, her rudeness, tracking us down, and scolding us like children is unacceptable. She should be replaced with someone who can be respectful to their customers. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!

**update at bottom…read more Gave the extra star only because the unit is clean. 1) when I got my unit and was signing the contract I was told I had to have THEIR insurance. I asked specifically if it was mandatory when she was going over the lease with me and the mgr told me it was. I've never had to have it in the past with any place I rented from. Come to find out that my home owners covers my items at the storage unit. So check with your insurance company before you get their insurance, more than likely you're covered and can save yourself the extra $50 a month. They tried to tell me that most insurance companies won't cover you but that's not true. I talked to multiple insurance companies to confirm. After escalating this issue with being told that their insurance was mandatory I was told I would be refunded for the insurance I paid. Initially I wasn't refunded enough. Somehow they couldn't figure that the amount I paid and the amount they refunded didn't equal up. They shorted me a month.. Had to go to the district manager and he could see I was shorted and took care of it. 2) when we got the unit, the mgr said she was pushing for a military discount and if it got approved she would let us know. Later down the road she called us and let us know that she was able to get it approved and she notated it on my acct. fast forward a few months later, they said there was no military addendum on my acct. umm probably cause the last update I got was the voicemail stating it was notated. They sent the addendum and during this time I got really sick. They kept asking for it when I was sick. I even talked to them and she could tell I was sick and even said in an email to take of my cold(it was covid). Last thing I'm worried about taking care of when I'm sick is the military addendum from the storage unit. I ended sending it to them when I felt better.. Now 9 months later I just received an email saying they're missing this same addendum. Huh? How about check your emails.. you already applied the military discount when you received it back in February. I screen shot the email with the date it was sent I do have the names of both people I dealt with here.. I'm sure when they see this review they'll know exactly who wrote it. Only wrote this review after receiving the email that they're missing the addendum that was sent back in February.. at this point it's one thing after another. **tried calling the number on the reply. It's automated and has the option to speak to my local store mgr. Why do I need to talk to them? I already sent them a screenshot of the first time I sent the addendum. They need to figure it out from there. If I have any other issues I'll update this to a 1 star review. If I could compare this situation to a car, I would consider this a lemon
