This Lansing location has poor service, doors difficult to shut close and damage to property from rodents.

The staff at this facility are kind and attentive, so this review in no way is a reflection on the people running the location. My complaint is that Public Storage will entice you with prices starting at less than $100, but then they increase the price on average every 5 months about $35. Misleading to say the least. read more

This place continues to go up in fees. In less than one year they've increased their rate from $100 yr 1; $154 yr 2 and 6 months later $214 effective 2/1/22. I vow to not be around on that day. The General Manager didn't even call me back when I left messages with the first increase. With this increase, I just can't patronage this business anymore. read more

The employee was nice and the place is clean is all I can say about this place. I wasn't here a full month before my unit was broken into. And while I was moving my items out another tenant was there who was broken into twice. When I made the police report the police told me several break ins occur at this location and management is NOT willing to work with the police to put cameras in the inside units. Please do not put your items in storage here. read more

My 75 year old mother with dementia , used public storage in lansing il on 173rd street to store a lifetime of collectibles. Waterford crystal, Bradford Christmas collectibles, a collection of Christopher Radko ornaments and many other irreplaceable items. She paid over the few years of storage and insurance $2743.00for over $10,000.00 Worth of merchandise. My mothers belongings were stolen out of the gated, locked and camera surveliance facility, yet someone used a key to enter and steal her items. Hmmmmm. Then she was harassed for further payment!! This was over a year ago!! My Mom has not received a dime from the insurance. Always a good experience at the location 2345 Torrence Ave, Lansing, Illinois. The property is always so clean and they have very good security. Karen who works in the office is such a delightful person and makes things so easy for anyone to get the size unit they need and explains the rates and hours of operation in depth. Absolutely awful customer service and overall dreadful experience. Staff has no knowledge to assist you, other than to scam you into getting an overpriced garage unit . They quote you on one price and try to get you to sign for another. Units are not climate controlled and poorly secured. This storage place is horrible. I used the storage for greater than two years. When I finally went to move out my things were stolen. To name a few things; A REFRIGERATOR; A STOVE; WASHER; DRYER; JEWELRY BOX, and much more. The lock was sealed to the storage and behind the gate. Supposedly the cameras did not go back 10 months. This company is stealing from the customers, in addition to, collecting rent. DO NOT ENTRUST YOUR BELONGINGS TO THIS COMPANY! read more

The property itself needs a complete overhaul to keep tenets property secure. My neighbor was broken into twice before he moved out and my unit was an "attempted" break in. Luckily I had two locks on my unit. The customer service is a hit or miss. For example, I was late on my rent once (after a 1yrs) renting from them and the older lady who works their (she wears cat shirts) called me at least 3 times a week harassing me to pay or else there going to evict my stuff. The following weekend I payed my unit, only to find out the Lansing Police was there investing break-ins. I think public storage should have a policy in place that informs there tenets of security issues, such as break-ins. After talking to the police officer, he informed me that management is unwilling to work with the local police department with putting up security cameras. So instead management locks the gate at 6pm instead of 9pm. I will be moving my stuff out at the end of the month, but really are there ANY good storage places out there anymore??? read more

We visited this location and Selena was very friendly and helpful. She showed us the unit so we could decide if it was enough room. She is the reason we stayed at this location because we were going to leave and go down the street to another public storage to see if they had any discounted storage spaces but she keep us at this location with her willingness to go out of her way to help us. She even informed us that there would be some changes going on with unit doors to better serve us and that we would be accommodate. This was a nice change to actually have great customer service for a change. read more
