The owner is the face of the business and is on site for help which is rare for other business models. During our initial interaction, he was very helpful in finding a unit that would fit both my furniture and my budget. An owner who isn't trying to get over!! Additionally, I enjoy the location since there is very little traffic, statistically resulting in a safer space although there is an access code needed to gain entry into the premises. I asked them to keep the center aisle of my garage space clear and just stack the boxes along the 3 sides, but they did it their way and left no aisle space so now I can't get to anything without moving lots of boxes first to find one I want. Overall they were OK and they were nice and did the job but made my life harder trying to get to things.

However, when we had our belongings moved out of storage to our next home, trouble began. Items were missing, such as power cords to TVs and frame mounting hardware for our beds. I had to purchase these items. They did have someone come back and put the beds together. When unpacking we found numerous broken items. Some were glued back together such as a bed post and cabinet drawers to our dresser while others were just broken plates and bowls. They didn't do a good job packing our things and were not organized in keeping items together such as the cords and hardware with the furniture. The worse part was the customer service. I have called over 20+ times and sent emails but have not gotten one response. Once we paid for the services all communication ended. I was only looking to be reimbursed for the broken items that they packed and moved. To me, that would be the right thing to do. They should have contacted me to ask how the move went and if we had any issues. I shouldn't have to spend time out of my day to contact them. I understand things can happen during a move, but there is no excuse not to respond to follow up after a move. If you are looking for movers, I don't think you can trust Ferree Movers of Crown Point to do the right thing if something happens to your furniture, appliances, fixtures, etc. I wouldn't use them again in any capacity due to their unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service.

The road was always cleared of snow and there were outside lights for when I needed to go there at dark. The units were clean and they did not leak. If I had to ever store anything, I would try Brown's first.

I've been renting storage units for YEARS and this location is the single most unorganized, poorly…read moredesigned, and messed up excuse for a storage facility. The building interior design makes absolutely no sense. Hallways are too narrow for carts to turn. Some carts are broken and duct taped back together. Posters everywhere with bolded, highlighted rules and threats against violators. Even bathroom rules? "Accessible" units are on the 2nd floor, which is a joke because the wheelchair ramp doesn't reach the second floor. No customer elevator is offered. Finally, building access closes at 9pm (which isn't posted on entrances, or announced on an overhead speaker). So if you're working and lose track of time, you're likely to be locked out of (or even inside) of the building. NO emergency or after hours support is available. What an embarrassment for a big name like Public Storage.
