Climate control works and I never feel unsafe going here even at night knowing that I'm on camera and everything is gated. They have several different size units from ones you can fit RVs inside to the small ones with offices where you can run your small business they also have climate controlled and not climate controlled to meet your needs when I found them. They were the best price in the area and I randomly check to make sure that I'm not missing a deal somewhere else and they still continue to beat everyone in the area.

do not rent here! management is the worst. julissa and armess were nightmares. there were a lot of…read moreppl living / cooking in their units. a lot of break ins. in one day there were 3 units broken into...it wasn't random. julissa would put things in my file that aren't true bc she is not nice..nor is the new manager vera. she doesn't care about the customers at all. she is mean too. would lock the bathroom so customers couldn't use it. she didn't care if you had to use the restroom. then she stopped customers from using the garbage bins, if you do... she'll find you. even though your paying to use the facilities. to show how inconsiderate / mean she is, she actually disconnected the electrical outlet in the restroom and outside so customers couldn't charge their phones. she actually rudely said, "this is a storage, not a phone charging business." no customer relations skills at all. ppl weren't lined up to charge their phones to begin with. and the gates don't work a lot of the time. they will not put adequate signs on the gates, ppl will get right on your bumper and not put their codes in, try to speed past you hit your car start yelling vulgar things, they speed threw the property. not the brightest. nor is vera in my opinion and other guests. they don't have a diverse work staff either. whomever there supervisor is..should be fired too. in my opinion. he let julissa and armiss (who would sit in front of the office and drink alcohol and do drugs had his "bros" living there and werent in the system) was the worst. the acs were out on the 3rd floor for over a year. climate controlled?? when it rains, water will flood into the units and in the hallway. if you get a unit that has a wall to the outside...it is not climate controlled, it gets very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. they don't care. it was 90 + degrees in the hallways on the 3rd floor. julissa didn't care. the management dis not care about their customers! do not rent here! worst management ever!

We rented Unit 329 for about 18 months, and the light inside the unit never worked the entire time…read more When we first moved in, we immediately notified the front desk that the light bulb was out. We were told they were out of bulbs but that it would be replaced. Months later, when we came back to access our belongings, the light was still out. When we asked again, we were told the unit would have to be completely empty so they could bring a ladder in to replace the bulb. That requirement was never mentioned when we first reported the issue. Because the light was never fixed, accessing our storage unit was extremely difficult and inconvenient the entire time we rented it. Another issue was the constant rate increases. We initially signed up for a promotional rate of $150 per month, which increased to $180 after six months. After speaking with the manager, it was lowered to $160, but six months later it went up again to $170, and then eventually back to $180. Also, be aware that if the unit is not paid by a certain date, the contract allows them to require two months of rent plus late fees, which can add up very quickly. Maybe this is standard practice in the storage industry, but between the unresolved maintenance issue and the frequent rate increases, the experience left a very bad impression. Honestly, after going through this, I would rather throw my belongings away than put them in storage again and end up feeling financially taken advantage of. This was my first experience using a storage company, and based on this experience with Extra Space Storage, I would not do it again.

I signed a move out notice a few weeks prior to my move out. I was scheduled to be out of my unit by May 31st. I moved out of the facility but because my lock was removed on 6/1, the facility charged me another month's rent. You would think after being a good paying customer over the past years (between myself and co-worker) I'd receive decent customer service but this was not the case. After calling to get an understanding of why I'm being charged for an additional month, Susan said I needed to read the fine print of my close out form. If you're in our community of Katy, I'd advise you to take your business somewhere else where people have great customers service and look to help solve problems....not scam you on the fine print.
