Scammers-They rent Units over the phone, promise 1 month for a $1.00 and then back out. Lie and say it's not in your account you never signed up for that promotion. 1 months after you move in they raise the rent from $138.00 to $190 for same unit. Then tell you to call corporate customer service and you get on the hamster wheel of never getting a resolution. Hang up, call back, hang up, call back, voice mail jail hell. read more

Exhausting experience! Still not refunded for a unit that we could not move into because the rope had rotted and door sprung off the track. Unit was all paid for and had to rent another unit in same location before moving truck arrived. I have made 6 calls to customer service and one mangers. Basically got the runaround. don't rent from here unless its climate controlled. I went to vacant my unit and there was rat or mice droppings, bugs, spider webs and a sting smell of rat urine. totally disgusting and unsafe. i rented several years from another storage company and never did I have a problem with rodents or insect. read more

I just started using Public Storage on State Bridge Road in Johns Creek. Negatives: 1. No clear map showing where your storage space. Had to drive around for about 15-20 mins before another customer showed us where our storage space is. 2. While we got the passcode for the main gate, we did not get a passcode for the door that let us into the hallway where our storage space is. Please include that code when sending welcome package to new customers. I had to call one of your reps to get the passcode. Positive: 1. Customer service person was very friendly and helpful. She was able to quickly get my door passcode to me. read more

As Public Storage facilities go, this one is pretty good. I've worked with PS before where I was strongarmed into buying their insurance, their locks, etc. and that hasn't occurred at this facility. All of the office staff I've worked with have been polite, helpful, and refrained from trying to sell me stuff. The facility itself is generally cleaned and well maintained, although the overhead doors have been an issue from time to time, and the automatic door opener on the phone app has never worked for me. This place is total highway robbery. How do they reward long term customers? By continually raising your rent. Mine is over $100 more than larger available units in climate controlled area. And watch out for their ridiculous fees. Two days late and they will charge you $70 in late fees plus more if you wait longer. Criminal... I rented a 10x5 climate controlled until here for about a year and always got great service from owner Victor along with the other staff. I was never forced to wear a mask to enter the property as with some other places. I never experienced any flooding like with some other places. Also, I never had any false alarms about my unit being empty when it was the wrong number (which nearly gives you a heart attack). Highly recommended! read more

Awful experience. We stored most of our household items in the storage unit for six months while we looked for a house. When we moved out of the unit we discovered rodent droppings and rodent urine all over EVERYTHING. There was plenty of damage from these rodents chewing through boxes. We ended up throwing away all of our upholstered furniture. (we left traps and poison in there but those were untouched) My other complaint was the advice given to us at the office when we moved in that we didn't need a climate controlled unit and that we would be fine with two moisture absorbing containers that they sell in the office. I replaced them monthly but those hardly make a difference. Everything was smelly and moldy when unearthed. read more

My husband called about renting space at this facility and was informed of the specials and monthly cost. When I showed up to sign for it, I was told about additional fees (you have to buy a lock from them) insurance and was very put off as that information wasn't provided upfront. Shainon's customer service is THE only reason we continued to do business with them. She went above and beyond to answer my questions and completely diffuse the situation. My first experience with Public Storage was nothing compared to this one. The first Public Storage I used years ago was staffed by asshats. They also didn't go out of their way to make the rental experience pleasant. I mean -- yes, it IS storing extra crap you should've thrown out, so it's not supposed to be concierge level custom service. Still, it helps to have a friendly person to get your extra crap (seriously, throw it out and avoid this altogether) stored in an efficient, reasonably cheap manner. Public Storage on State Bridge Road offered me three (3) different staff members over a few days while I figured out arrangements, and they were all pleasant and eager to help. I highly recommend setting up a reservation online if you go to this or any other Public Storage. You'll almost always get better deals (1st month free, 20% off each month, etc.) than you will signing up from the desk. The staff will even recommend you do that to save money. In my case, this location's staff went out of their way to find me a unit that might not have otherwise been available. The first option was near an exit door and the wall had been dented in from people ramming it coming into the building moving things. The staff worked with me to extend the reservation I'd made online until another unit elsewhere in the building was available. Storage isn't cheap, but it doesn't have to dig into your happiness wallet too with bad customer service. Give Public Storage a try on State Bridge Road. read more

Sue the manager was fabulous!! I am very pleased with the customer service and the appearance of the property.

The staff is helpful and friendly. The property is clean and very safe. The air conditioned units are really nice as well. The only down side is you have to buy custom locks because of their doors, but it is still worth it. Been a customer here for a few months and everything goes smoothly. read more

When we needed some extra space we went to a Public Storage nearby. It was the right call. Not so much the facility, they're all similar, but the person. John is outstanding and is THE reason we rented. He walked us through and showed us the unit we needed size wise. Though there was none available at the time. He kept on it and within a few days called us with the perfect unit. Wish we could get that kind of service and professionalism in all businesses. read more

John at the State Bridge property in Johns Creek was incredibly helpful when I was in a hurry to secure a storage space for my veterans organization. He processed the paperwork quickly, showed me the space and answered all my questions in a friendly, professional, courteous manner. I have another Public Storage rental in a second location near my home, and am very impressed with both locations. Public Storage provides a safe, clean, secure facility at a fair price and hires outstanding management to run it. I rented from another facility several years ago and the manager wasn't nearly as professional as those I've encountered with Public Storage. I highly recommend this outfit, mostly because of the manager, John. Set up the automatic payment. It will make your experience hassle-free, it'll run smoothly for as long as you rent the space and it's one less issue to deal with every month. read more

The only reason I rate this company even this high is the quality of the individual location customer service. I've never had a problem on the location level and personally, I don't expect or need a lot of service from a place hired to look after stuff just sitting there anyway. Corporate policy however is an utter pain in the ass and ultimately makes this company UTTERLY WORTHLESS to do business with. Do your homework before you use this storage service. They are price gouging in the extreme and their inflexible-ness is horrendous. Because I work three jobs and their gates close at 9pm where I'm at, it took me a bit to fully move out of my unit. Because I moved out fully the morning of the first of the month and not the day before they are required to charge for the FULL month. Yes, this is most likely in the terms and conditions that hardly anyone reads and workers conveniently don't mention, but I stand by my opinion of extremely over priced and stupid. There is no sense in offering a pro-rate for moving in and not for moving out. Even paying for a week or half a month would have been acceptable to me but this place is not cheap, which is why I'm moving my business two miles down the road and saving $80+/ a month. Public storage needs to strongly consider the flexibility of their policy and the competitiveness of their prices or they will keep losing business. It is insane that I can go two miles, get the same size storage unit and save that much money. Do your research and avoid this place at all costs. Not because of the individual customer service but because the amount you pay every month (which by the way corporate has a very-not cute habit of raising whenever they feel like) is simply not worth it. read more
