I was presented with 3 rate changes. Based on this last rate change I decided to leave. I had 3 storage units with Extra Storage space of which I have vacated all of them. From my starting price of approximately $450.00 a month for all 3 it was going to be $1020.00 with the latest rate change. No thanks, I dont even have a house mortgage. These were not climate controlled units. In any event they served the purpose of storing my items. Good people, site was clean.. except these last 2 units one did have a dead rat, and it had a lot of leaves. Which I cleared and removed with the trash. The last one I cleared had rat droppings and leaves. Probably rats moved them in for insulation during the winter months. I rarely visited my units. It was unexpected to see this much litter. Still I complied to the terms of cleaning it.

The week my contract was up, I was notified that my rate was nearly doubled. When I contacted them, I was told they could change the price because of the fine print. I understand that pricing may be addressed in the fine print, but advertising one price and then nearly doubling it once my belongings are already in storage feels like horrible business. It completely destroyed my trust in the company. I won't even put my account on automatic payment because I don't feel comfortable with unexpected price changes. I would not recommend Extra Space Storage based on this experience.

Allen runs an honest business and is someone you can trust with your belongings. Once inside, the storage lockers are clean and the walkways are clear. He greeted us every time we arrived to drop off more items or to retrieve items. He answered every question we had over the phone, prior to our securing a rental space and the prices remained what he quoted us over the phone, once we arrived. As a parent out of state, you want your young adult children to encounter other adults they meet in the world to treat them with respect, courtesy and honesty. Allen did all of that and almost felt like family in the end. He knew my daughter was navigating this on her own as she interned for a season with the Atlanta Falcons and that she wouldn't be a long term renter and that didn't matter. He would do whatever he could to make her rental experience as smooth and simple and as affordable as possible. I only needed it for 3 weeks and yes, no overages or extra charges when I was done. They gave me the 411 on the climate controlled being cheaper than the non which was not majorly important to me but still helped. Plenty of flatbed carts and no problems with gate / entry code. One issue is they often walk the property and no one is in the office, calling is what the door sign says but that didn't help. Overall I still recommend.
