We have used Zephyr moving several times in 2018-19 and give them our highest endorsement. They were professional, on time, and all items arrived safely. We have used many different companies through the past 20+ years as we moved regularly. They have been one of the best we've come across. Mike Potts was a pleasure to work with planning our complicated series of moves and stayed positive as we ended up needing to add extra trucks, trips and stops to drop items with our children in Nashville, TN, Arlington,VA and Chicago, IL as we down sized. They managed to move the bulk of our things from Greensboro, GA to Southern Florida and Boston, MA. All this to say we got to know them quite well! We highly recommend Chris who is one of the managers if you can get him on your job. He's smart, a creative problem solver and pleasant under pressure. Moving days were stressful for us but he kept us smiling. All of the employees where professional and took great care with our things and our home. All that and the price was reasonable. We used Zephyr a few years ago and it has sat poorly with us ever since. The owner, Michael, came to our house to give us an estimate and said at the very MOST it would be $2,200. OK great! After the quote we actually got rid of some large items like dressers, a full sized bunk bed, etc making it less to move. Movers came, they didn't take a lunch break and we felt bad so we fed them ($100 for that, no biggie). They were unable to finish in one day as discussed. Inconvenient but ok. The next day same thing, we ended up buying them lunch AND dinner ($250+) and had a big cooler of drinks bc it was June. They finished at almost midnight of day two, the foreman calls to tell Michael and he says oh its going to be $4,200!!!!!!! Wtf?!?! They said that the job was more than intended (even thought the OWNER quoted us and there were fewer items to move). So we ended up being stuck paying that. The guys left, I said to take a drink for the road, they took them ALL Like 40 drinks we'd been planning on using for our family because the kitchen was still empty. Who does that!!!!!! So after being nice and buying their meals for two days, being generous with drinks, giving one of the guys a case of diapers bc my baby had outgrown them, they double the price. Found out antique furniture had been wrapped in WET moving blanjets, ruining the finishes, hardware for beds was just gone, two pieces from our soda sign collection mysteriously vanished (about $1500 value) and a large stained glass piece was broken in several places. This guy is a crook, his people are thieves, and absolutely unappreciative of any kindnesses and take advantage of whatever possible. Do not use them without a firm estimate in a contract that they cannot change, and anything you don't want stolen, broken or damaged move yourself.. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. We used them before in 2016. Experience was decent. We decided to use them again for a move from GA to Tampa. After they loaded our items in 2 different companies trucks (uhaul and penske) they were scheduled to deliver the next day. The following morning Dana Potts called us stating Michael Potts and 3 helper were all arrested in South Ga and the trucks were being seized. I had to pay $600 to have the trucks released from the tow lot and pay new movers to unload the trucks. While the new movers were unloading the items, many things we're damaged. I'm so disgusted over this and sadden at the events that have taken place. I hope when Michael gets out of jail he makes this right. read more

I called on Tuesday and they moved me on Wednesday. Unfortunately I have moved in many different capacities - DIY to corporate Atlas move and just about everything in between (labor only, pods, full service, etc.) I heavily weight my moves on how my personal space / home and property are treated and the amount of damaged sustained in the move. Personal space violations - The movers left drink bottles and trash in the old place as well as ate my Halloween candy. I kept the trash bin by the door and of course they can have candy, but common courtesy is to ask and then throw the trash in the bin. Damaged sustained - My dining room table and chairs were knicked because they were not padded (just wrapped in plastic). My (brand new) floors in the new place were scratched when the furniture was placed on the floor and then slid around (I showed them the furniture felts that I purchased but they decided to slide my sofa around without the felts). Finally, not all the wheels were snapped into the bed frame. It was a long, hot job and no movers are perfect. The movers worked hard and had a great attitude. But I've had more difficult moves with less issues so I think Zephyr is about average when it comes to moving companies in Atlanta (especially considering how much I paid). But if you need a next day move and can't get other companies to call back (which was my experience) then call Zephyr and insist on having your furniture padded and wrapped in plastic. read more

- - AVOID THIS DECEITFUL COMPANY - - I strongly recommend that you do not use this company. I worked directly with Michael Potts who said he was the owner of the company. He started out polite and professional but then turned out to be an outright total liar. They actually did a good job for most of our family move, but once I paid them the balance owed as they were finishing up, the crew just sort of quietly slid out and left with about 5-10% of the work left - items left in the driveway, beds that weren't put back together, furniture left in the way and still stacked on each other, etc. It gets worse. They left our expensive portable Basketball goal at our old home which was 500+ miles away. I called Michael to let him know and he confirmed that it had gotten left behind and promised he would reimburse me for the cost of the goal which was about $450. What ensued was a string of emails and phone calls back-and-forth over the next few months as he continued to promise to reimburse me and continued to make excuses as to why it never happened. I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt including even when he wrote me a check that bounced - he gave me a story about how he had been in an accident and was in the hospital and his partner was running the business and doing a poor job etc. etc. When he bounced the next check I texted him that I was turning him in, he texted me a picture of a new goal he had actually ordered from Amazon so I finally thought we were done. But then over the next four weeks he kept making excuses as to why it still had not been delivered to me. So I finally told him to immediately send me the tracking number for the order from Amazon. Over the next week he would send me the order number but never a tracking number. (He obviously ordered the goal so he could send me the picture and then canceled it since he had no intention of doing the right thing.) How deceitful. Apparently these guys do a good job for some people, but bottom line is you should never do business with someone who is such an untrustworthy documented liar. Update Jan 2019: Zephyr Moving Company has just finished moving me into my new home in Buckhead, yet again. They continue to exhibit professionalism and experience. They had a huge truck jam packed with my belongings picked up from two different locations and arrived to the new home only to realize the driveway was too steep to back the big truck into. Those guys immediately started hauling everything from the bottom of the hill, all the way up the steep driveway and then up the numerous steps to get to the main level of the home. I've never seen movers work so hard...without a complaint! Needless to say, we tipped them very well which they were so genuinely grateful. The owner, Michael, stopped by and even assisted in the moving process for a while as well. My plethora of belongings were all delivered safely. They even conveniently disassembled and reassembled my bed. Highly recommend! read more

In October we hired this company partly due to the reviews on Yelp. The other reason was when I spoke to Michael (whom I thought was the owner) he seemed professional and did not give me any indication he did not value quality of service (there are two Michaels one is the owner.) Lastly, I really appreciated the hourly rate not encompassing any additional trip charges. The movers arrived promptly at the agreed time however, they were slow. I moved from an apt building which was equipped with an elevator and when I made mention the movers were lengthy, Michael explained the elevator and being on the third floor was a factor. Okay, fine. During the move, one of the movers pointed out they may have damaged our tv due to the stand breaking. My husband looked at the damage without his glasses on and thought it was an easy fix. It wasn't until we arrived at the new place that we all (movers still present) realized the stand had completely been broken. Immediately, we called Michael. Michael said he would order a new stand right away and we should expect delivery of it by Wednesday. We were moved on a Saturday. I will say, Michael sounded relieved that the tv wasn't broken and it was just the stand. Michael indicated this was not an issue at all. Michael did mention the movers should have called him right away whether my husband looked at it or not. After getting somewhat settled in, we had an opportunity to turn the tv on and noticed this white spot as if the screen was damaged by something pressing on it. We called Michael to explain, he asked for pictures (we sent them) and he was shocked. Nonetheless, he continued to assure me that he would fix the issue. They know how to deal with any situation that comes up and always help me assemble my furniture when I get to my new spot, making moving super easy! We hired Zephyr to move the contents of our large house from Lawrenceville to Cumming about a week ago. The team (six guys and two trucks) showed up slightly ahead-of-schedule, and got moving right away. As with any highly reputable mover, their emphasis was on taking care of our posessions. Everything remotely fragile was padded and wrapped, and we had no damages of any of our items due to the move. More importantly to me, they were flexible with our needs. I had a huge grand plan of what was going to be boxed and how, complete with color coded tags for individual floors/rooms. The move was going to be flawless... except that personal issues during the week prior caused me to have almost none of that done. Larry (the crew leader) was on top of every single thing - doing things like disconnecting our washer/dryer and breaking down a ridiculously intricate master bed, things which I planned on doing and hadn't gotten to. It got to a point that I had to leave our old house to go to the new one for a critical reason, and had to leave the movers on their own - and Larry again stepped up and got it done. I showed him one time what I wanted to be moved and what could stay behind, and trusted him to do a reasonable job. He didn't do that. He did a phenomenal job. After 9 hours of hauling every mover we have ever hired was out of both breath and patience... not so with these guys. Every single mover had a fantastically positive attitude and went out of their way to do what we asked without hesitation. The charges for the group were slightly more expensive than what I would have liked, but for six guys and two trucks and a nearly flawless move I couldn't be happier. There won't be any shopping around next time we move - One call to Michael (and you're damned right I'm going to request that Larry head up the crew) and I know my move will be handled correctly. The Good: The four guys who showed up to move my things were absolutely awesome. Hard workers, respectful, easy to talk to, and very professional. They pointed out a scuff on a bedside dresser that happened during the move and let me know that they would report it and someone would contact me and come out to repair it. The Bad: A week after the move (9/8) I hadn't heard from anyone. I sent a text to the owner and he responded saying they were behind on work and would get someone out to me that week. No problem. A week later (9/16) I hadn't heard anything and had not seen anyone. I sent another text message to the owner and he responded asking for my address. I sent the address and hear nothing for another week. I sent another text (9/22) asking if there was anything else I needed to do to help get the process moving and he replied saying there was a mix-up and that his guys told him I was "okay with the damage". I explained that it was definitely a mix-up and that I was telling the guys it was no problem, things happen, but I definitely wanted to have it repaired. The owner replied with the name of the repair man and told me he would be in contact with me that work "for sure". Another week goes by and I got no call, heard nothing from anyone... By now it's been over a month and I sent another message to the owner as of two days ago (10/3) and the owner has stopped responding to my messages completely. He's not answering my phone calls either. Feels like he got my money and wrote me off after that... Horrible way to handle business, me having to contact him for over a month and now being ignored. After having such a great experience with my first move (or unloading), I decided to use the "Mikes" again. The weather was unfavorable with my move on Sunday (6/4), however Walker and his team came out and did an amazing job. They made sure that all of my furniture were wrapped in sheets, then rewrapped in saran wrap to keep everything nice and dry. Jeff, the team lead on the job came out with 2 other people. Jeff was a very determined man who made sure the job at hand went as smooth and flawless as it went for me my previous move. The team laid down carpet on my wood floor to make sure nothing was ruined with all the rain. They also took their time with the ramp by putting down a carpet on that (to prevent them from slipping). Jeff made a very good modification by saran wrapping his boots, so that he was able to walk around the house to the backyard to bring forward all of my lawn furniture, as well as BBQ instead of dragging it through the house. Mike (walker) was also on site for the beginning of the move to make sure everything was going alright as well, and to help his team with any issues that may arise. Like the last time, the team were very polite, calling myself "Sir" and my wife "Ma'am", and followed direction very well. When the old house was all packed up, it took them 20 minutes to get to the new house (faster than me!) and started up right away. They took great direction from my wife moving items around the house...from going to the back of the house for all of the patio furniture through bringing in all the mattresses to each room. It did take a lot longer than expected...but it was due to the rain. They had to wrap up everything to prevent any water damage. That took a lot longer than we anticipated. Overall, it took around 4.75 hours for a complete project. When it was all over, we did a final walk through and I was able to settle my bill over the phone with Potts, via credit card. Tipped the 2 workers a standard 20, and the senior lead, $40... As noted and stated before...with their professionalism, honesty and integrity, there isn't much competition...and they are my clear choice for moving in the future as well. read more

*CAUTION!! DO NOT HIRE! YOU WILL LOSE MONEY AND BELONGINGS* I don't know where to start. But I will start by saying this: Our family is still trying to recover from what Michael and his band of merry men did to our family during our out of state move. Our kids couldn't sleep and had nightmares. I had to spend thousands to recover. The pain and misery was unlike anything i've had to deal with before. We used them before in 2016. Experience was decent. We decided to use them again for a move from GA to Tampa. They gave us a quote, and said that our home would fit in two of their trucks. THEIR trucks. They showed up mid morning with a U-Haul truck to start our move, after telling us they'd be there first thing. The team started working hard to pack the U-Haul while Michael went to go find another truck. He got back to our house at 2pm. His own team members were annoyed and frustrated, left standing around waiting on him. They packed the second Penske truck half ass. Did not pack to fill, and left room for our furniture to slide and get damaged. Additionally, they left half my garage behind. Michael pulled me aside to tell me that that was all they could fit, and there was nothing he could do to get our remaining items to Florida. They were going to spend the night in Atlanta, and hit the road at 5a the next day to get to us by 1 or 2 in Tampa to start unloading. The next morning I get a call from an unrestricted number around 10am. It was Michael's wife, and she informed me that Michael and his entire team was arrested and the trucks with our belongings were impounded. Worst nightmare just became reality. She refused to help any further, and when i asked her for her number so we could stay in touch, she told me she would not help or get involved and hung up on me. I won't share the reasons they were arrested, nor the details I found out about Zephyr through this process and their credibility. But, you should definitely research before you give them any money. It proceeded to take two days to get our belongings back, and thousands of dollars. Half a dozen trips to Georgia. Then after we finally got our trucks and items back, i had to make another trip to Atlanta to get the rest of my items out of the house we left. Luckily for us closing was delayed, and we had a few days. I slept 12 hours in 4 days. I drove thousands of miles. Many of our items were destroyed or damaged severely. Brand new furniture gouged, scratched, dented. We really had connected with Michael. We really felt he was a GOOD guy and wanted to support the small business. Unfortunately we got punished for it. What we felt was not accurate and we were sold. It's a shame. We're still waiting for Michael to make all this right, and its been two months. Never a phone call. Never a word or an email or a text. Wow. Also. Word of caution. We learned that whomever rents a truck now owns those belongings until they are unloaded. So those of you shopping for a moving service, make sure they are using THEIR OWN trucks - OR, you rent the truck for them. Because in the fine print, you lose possession of everything you own until they unload the items which almost destroyed our ability to salvage our things. read more

It's amazing how companies stay in business when they cannot even answer their phones or call a potential customer back. Zephyr moving was highly recommended to me. I called them twice, and left two messages. I also emailed them through both Yelp and their website. So thats FOUR times I tried to give them my business, and I did not receive one call back. Very disappointing as they have such good reviews. Edit to add: I'm not sure what else to say? I'm not going to beg a company for my business. One call with a detailed message should have been enough. I did that twice and emailed them, twice. I understand it being busy season but a call back would have been nice, if at least to let me know they were fully booked on our date. Do not use this moving company! While the move staff was nice, several items were damaged and broken. When I called to report the items, they said they would get back to me. I followed up but never heard another word! They broke the TV stand in the first 5 minutes after arriving. Broke the leg to a glass table that I specifically said it very important, and scratched and dinged multiple pieces. My husband and I REALLY wanted to give ZEPHYR a good review, a local business deserves a chance to thrive above the big box chains, right? Well don't waste your time contacting them or your money hiring them. We were lied to, mislead, many of our items were broken and our homes were severely damaged. We were promised compensation for all the damage and broken items, the owner shook my husbands hand on it and even agreed to it in text. Here we are two months later, yes TWO MONTHS is the grace period we gave for this company to make things right with us and they failed. Our constant attempts to get our compensation have been ignored and we were even lied to about why we weren't paid. "Oh we sent the check the wrong address". Really? I guess all of us were born yesterday. As far as the job itself, Well that was just as bad. The workers showed up almost two hours late and stayed almost three hours past the quoted time. Many smoke breaks and constant horsing around- this was a very unprofessional company, which we would have overlooked had they done the right thing and compensated us as they agreed to for our damages. We were taken advantage of, Lied to, our things were damaged, broken and ruined and we could not be more disappointed. I guess sometimes it pays to hire a big box chain- We Regret hiring this company. Let me be clear, the damage we also had to pay out of pocket to repair, And somethings we had to simply replace. We understand that things happen during moves, but when the owner himself agrees to make it right and then doesn't after two months and dozens of attempts on our end every day, we felt it was our responsibility to the area to let everyone know you are not dealing with professionalism here, you are dealing with liars. I had to take the repair money out of my own pocket after three months of him lying about being paid. These guys were ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. We just had Cedric, Caleb and Bond here unloading a 26' truck and it went very smoothly. It took us 3 hours and I have a ton of really delicate stuff. These 3 guys were professional and contentious with every article. No one ever had empty hands or stood around clueless..... they were very mannerly and did everything we asked with a smile. After reading its reviews, I contacted Zephyr through its website to request a quote. Michael Potts called me to follow up on my request. Out of the five moving companies I contacted, Zephyr is the only one that performed an onsite assessment to accurately estimate the moving costs. Michael worked with my budget to move me from a 4 BD to 5 BD home about 12 miles apart. He was clear about what the crew would and would not do. The three-man crew (Cyrus, Stanley, and Malik) showed up on time and had the truck loaded within 2 hours. To save time, I had disassembled all the bedroom sets prior to the move. The guys were respectful and responsible. They made sure to inform me of any items that were already in questionable condition and might sustain damage during the move. When we arrived at my new home, the crew placed floor protection on the hardwood floors, unloaded the truck placing the items where instructed, and reassembled my furniture. The crew even moved an appliance back to my former home as it will be a rental property. The entire move went very smoothly and was completed within 5.5 hours. I thought it might take at least 7. I am grateful for Zephyr's flexibility and focus on relieving a major stressor for me. I would certainly recommend the company to my family and friends. read more

This post is to report my total dissatisfaction with Zephyr Moving Service, located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Zephyr's owner, namely Michael Potts entered into a contractor to move/ transport my personal effects on July 20, 2018. Our agreement was that he/ Zephyr would send 5 men and two trucks to carefully wrap, pad, assemble, dissemble, transport locally, and store my furnishings into 2 large local storage units, which he didn't fully comply. Instead, Zephy sent only 3 men the day of the move, one of which seemed to lack moving experience. The move, as was mutually agreed would not exceed 8 hours duration, but it did, and after 9-10 hours of loading the trucks, the men rushed to finish the job, which actions resulted in numerous pieces of furnishings being moved unwrapped, disassembled and unpadded. Further, my unprotected personal items were crammed and jammed into 2 Zephyr trucks, and during transport to the storage units a short distance from the pickup location, the item we're severely scratched, broken and otherwise mishandled my things, thus causing damages which I have several times asked Mr. Potts to accept responsibility to no avail. He continues to reject my claim for insurance claim damage, and he won't return my calls and emails concerning reported damaged items, that I'm seeking payment/ renumeration. I have reported my complaint of his company to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which he's not responded to their inquiries, and Zephyr is also not a member of BBB which was a red flag I hadn't before noticed. I would not recommend Zephyr Moving company to anyone for moving services. In fact, I'll go further in asking anyone looking at Yep's 4 star ratings of Zephyr to completely ignore the rating, as I believe as based upon my experience with them that the company rates a 1or 2 in my opinion, and do not serve the best interest of the public service. Over the summer we contacted Zephyr movers about 7 days before we need to move, which happened to be during a busy holiday weekend, and not only did they accommodate us, but one of the owners personally came out to make sure we had the right estimate! So we were highly impressed! On the day of our move my husband and I realized that we would not be ready when the movers arrived so I text Michael (one of the owners) to ask if his team could help us get everything wrapped up and he was more than happy to take care of us! It ended up being a very long day and their team stayed with us for more than 8 hours that day and the entire time they were polite, courteous and extremely professional! We used Zephyr to move our household goods from Atlanta to Decatur. We were given a choice between an hourly rate or a fixed rate. We chose the fixed rate and it was a good choice! The movers started at 930 am and finished at 11 pm so it was a long day. The movers did a good job of packing and loading the household goods onto the vans. The unloading went much quicker. I should point out that two lamps were broken but all in all Zephyr did a good job. Moving is a very difficult job to perform so most of the employees only had several months experience. There was one employee who had been on the job for one week. He should have been better trained/watched by the lead in-site. There were a total of five packers/movers. In order to show our appreciation, We purchased lunch/dinner. In addition, we provided each mover a $40 tip at the end of the day. I do recommend Zephyr as the moving company one should use for local moves. Either way be aware that moving is a stressful event. read more

Overall, had a great experience with these movers. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, and efficient. They protected my furniture and moved my stuff quickly at target time, with no mishaps. I got an excellent value with the quote, a lower per hour rate than some competitors and no additional base charge for travel. Just had to pay a 1 hour deposit and the remainder + tip when the job was done. Docked 1 star for being an hour late with no communication. Earlier that morning, the crew leader called me to verify the address and confirm they were on the way. When they were late, I called that number multiple times but no answer. Thankfully, the people at the main office number were immediately available, though. They helped me obtain the status of the crew and apologized. read more

Awesome, just awesome. We moved from an upper lever triplex apartment in mid town to a house and we were on a budget. Called these guys because they had the best upfront pricing around. One price per hour, and that's it. No hidden fuel charges or driving charges. None of that crazy stuff. This is the price per hour and that's what you pay. We scheduled for 930 on a Saturday about a week in advance and the owner said he would drop to take a look at how much we're moving. True to his word he showed up on time and made sure that he knew what his team would be dealing with. The crew showed up 5 minutes early on Saturday! It's not much but you always hear horror stories about movers showing up hours late so it was a nice surprise. The guys were awesome, quick efficient nice and friendly. They had a job to do and moved with a purpose. The unload went smoothly and everything was perfect. Total time 3 hours. Something to note. Our move time is not typical by any means. Because I live upstairs and the only access is a narrow stair case. The move should have taken 4-5 hrs. Prep work is essential. A buddy and I started early and got a lot of the pre packed boxes down the stairs so these guys could hit all the big furniture and anything to heavy for me. And like clock work they knew what they had to do and did it. They weren't mad they we had shortened up the move time but we're happy to get done all the more quickly. I really can't speak highly enough about these guys and will definitely be recommending them to any and all who need moving services in the future. read more

WARNING: I am finally able to post here since our court case has been resolved (we won) against Zephyr. DO NOT USE!! Let me tell you the story... Michael P. came to our house to give a quote (I interviewed 3 companies in person), and seemed very professional. Passed himself off as the company owner (he's not), told me what seemed to be a great, normal account of his past work experience and personal life (found out later those were all lies). We hired Zephyr for our July move with the contract stating we would pay 1/2 in June to retain them, they were to store our belongings for 5 months, and move us into our new home in November at which time the other 1/2 would be charged and paid. Moving day came, everything seemed to go fine. The team was nice enough, we bought them lunch and even helped them move our 4 bedroom house into the trucks. Waved goodbye to most of our things and didn't think much about it since Michael had given us the address where the storage unit was. About a month later, while reviewing or credit card bill, I was alarmed to find that Michael had charged the ENTIRE amount of the move right up front along with an ADDITIONAL $4,200.00!!!!!!!! I gave him a call on both phone numbers he provided and both had been disconnected. A little panic set in, but I still thought it was just an honest mistake (I later learned that there is nothing honest about this person, this company, or the real owner Mike W.) My husband decided to go by the storage unit the next day to check on things and this is when we realized we were in trouble for sure. The address he gave us, and told us our entire household was going to be stored for 5 months, was actually a rented mailbox at a UPS store. After hearing our story, the manager there said that Michael has been good about picking up mail regularly, but he hadn't been there in about 2 weeks. So, at this point, we have no idea where our entire life/house is and no way to contact Michael P. to find out what's going on, we are out thousands of dollars and are in a panic. We went straight to the police to ask for help, but they have protocols that seems to be in favor of the criminals (they wanted us to send him a certified letter stating we want our things back and wait 10 days for him to respond before they would get involved....even though he hadn't checked his mailbox in two weeks). Three days passed with us thinking our whole house had been stolen, and my mother happened to go onto Yelp and post a terrible review. The very next morning at 6:30 a.m. Michael P. texted me from a different number asking if we could talk. He told me this was all a big misunderstanding, begged me to take down the negative Yelp review, was quite nasty when I told him I wouldn't do it until he gave me the address to the actual storage unit and I verified my stuff was still there. At this point I stupidly let him convince me that it was an error and he would refund the money asap. I gave him more than enough time to do this, but he had excuse after excuse as to why it wasn't happening. At one point he even told me the check was coming via certified mail the next day. I did receive a certified letter the next day with a poorly handwritten note stating it wasn't his fault and we wouldn't be getting our money back. I was finally done and requested a meeting with Michael P. and Mike W. at the storage unit. (This is now 2 full months after he moved us). My husband and I have a friend in the police department that agreed to accompany us to the storage unit in uniform that morning. When we got there Michael tried to say all of our stuff was in a 10x12 unit, but after help from the police, he admitted that there really was another larger unit where the other 1/2 of our things were. Interesting side note....the police new him by name already from previous encounters with him. Unfortunately, he hadn't paid the bill on that larger one, so the storage unit manager wouldn't open it until he paid the balance. He had to call someone and wait two hours to get another credit card number to pay the $300 fee. When that one was finally opened my heart sank. Knowing our things would be stored for 5 months, I was meticulous in wrapping everything in plastic, padding with blankets, etc.. Zephyr had removed all the plastic wrap from my 4 mattresses, had stacked all our dirty lawn equipment (shovels used to scoop dog poop, dirty wheelbarrows, etc) right on top of the now bare mattresses. We found a plastic bag of leftover food they left in the unit with our things for two months, and it literally looked as if someone had just thrown (literally thrown) all of our boxes on top of each other. We immediately called another moving company to come rescue our things and paid a very big price for same day service to have it removed from Zephyr's possession. We sued Zephyr, won the case, but have yet to reclaim any money from the THOUSANDS of dollars we lost. DO NOT USE!!! read more

I would give this company a negative if I could. Please do not use this company - though it's possible they are no longer in business. They stole money and belongings from me and despite promise after promise to make it right, did not. Michael Potts was the front person through my move from Decatur GA - where I had a household of belongings moved into their storage units. During the year I paid storage fees, Michael overcharged my account over $5,000 in four separate transactions. Fortunately it was on my American Express Card, and they investigated and placed holds on those transactions. Michael swore it was a mistake via his billing company, and eventually that money was refunded. From reading other reviews, it is clear to me that this was not just a mistake. This was between Sept. and Jan. 2017-18. Despite some misgivings, but believing Michael Potts (at the time) that this was an internal difficulty that he had fixed, I used them to move my things from storage to my new home out of state in June 2018. They brought some of my things, rescheduled the arrival multiple times (blaming weather, blaming crew being unavailable, etc.), and broke several items in the move (including antique chair, music stand, damaged boxes, etc.) and broke a bed putting it back together in the house. Long story short, they also did not bring over $3000 of my belongings to my new house. Michael said that some things must have been stored in a separate unit and that he would locate them and bring them out. After months of back and forth via text, email and phone calls, with Michael promising to find the missing items and and promising to bring them out (and even "arranging daters and timers twice!) , he finally "admitted" that those things were "stolen." Again, Michael blamed it on his crew and that he "didn't know," and said he would make it right and pay me for what was stolen. I sent a list of items with how much it would cost me to replace. He said he would send a check. He did not. He also did not pay back $250 of an overpayment that was due back to me - also promised that he would. Just like other reviews here, he said he would send it in the mail several times. Then he said he'd send by certified check. Nothing ever got here. Michael Potts stopped responding to emails or phone calls or texts. And I see from Yelp that Zephyr Moving has been sued successfully - so I expect now that I am out $250 of what was overpayment to them and out close to $3000 of belongings that were stolen, lost or destroyed by Zephyr moving. I am considering moving on this and suing the company and Michael Potts, too. I have considerable documentation - in writing, and voice messages recorded from Michael Potts - admitting to all of this and saying he owed me restitution. At this point, none of my calls, emails, or texts are being answered and the phone number advertised on their website has a busy signal all the times I've called. I wish I'd filed a police report and started a criminal investigation when Potts first said my things had been stolen. Unfortunately, I believe that he would do the right thing. I don't believe he ever meant to make this situation right - My experience is that this company is a fraud and is criminal and negligent in their actions with other people's belongings and money. I have been so satisfied with both times I used the crews from Zephy Movers. Michael was always kind and helpful with each job that I requested. He even took the time to come by my home to check on everything. Now that is really the way to build a reputable business! I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs assistance with moving anything. ----DO NOT HIRE---- The owner, Michael Potts, lied, mislead, and broke our furniture and damaged the hardwood floors at both old and new homes. After the move we met to go over the damages and the owner agreed and shook hands to a compensation of $600. I Still haven't been paid. He will not return any of my many calls, emails or texts. I could not be more disappointed and I regret hiring this company. We gave Mr. Potts every opportunity to make things right and he failed. Our several attempts to get our compensation have been ignored. As far as the job itself, well that was just as bad. The workers showed up an hour late and stayed almost three hours past the quoted time. Many smoke breaks, phone call breaks and constant horsing around- very unprofessional. We would have overlooked some of these issues had they done the right thing and compensated us as they agreed to for our damages. We understand that things happen during moves, but when the owner himself agrees to make it right and then doesn't after several attempts on our end, we felt it was our responsibility to let everyone know you are not dealing with professionalism here, you are dealing with liars. Take your business elsewhere or you'll regret it. read more

Unbelievable experience. This company made a day I was dreading a breeze. Their estimation was spot on. Don't be fooled by other movers who say they can do it quicker or with less trucks/movers - you'll end up spending more money in the long run. While Michael was fantastic, the day of moving 2 guys broke out in a fight during the move and had to call Michael. Other than that, the loading of the truck was great! When it came time to unload in my new home, the crew was very nice, but a lot of items were found broken as well dents and scratches on my floors, door, and walls of my brand new home! Tried discussing with Michael on what to do, but the lack of response or customer service after the fact is terrible... Michael finally returned my call once I posted my first review about his company about the damages to my new home and someone was sent to inspect it. I was told by law moving companies have to give customers a $300 credit even if they do not purchase any insurance for damages. The gentleman that came was very nice and found the missing dinning room rod that I was missing as well said the damages would get fixed. This was all back in late August and it's now mid October... plus I am still missing components to my green egg to which I have to rebuy!!!! I have given up on this company and will NEVER EVER recommend them to anyone. Also where ever they store your items it is not climate controlled as you can smell it in the clothing. read more

We hired Mr. Potts and his crew after receiving a great bid and recommendations from friends who had used their company. We paid our deposit, but then our credit card was charged four extra times for a total overage of almost $20, 000 before any services even began. We contacted Mr. Potts to rectify the charges but he didn't reverse the charges as he stated that he would. When the crew came to pack they didn't have the needed materials or crew members. It took two days longer than originally quoted. We were very understanding and flexible. Finally our items arrived at our new location very, very late and they unpacked until midnight. So many items were broken and damaged. Many of these were noted by the foreman. Due to the credit card charges, we were forced to dispute the charges. We have, on multiple occasions, requested payment for damages and have not been able to recover those. Our move was in July 2018. DO NOT USE THIS SHADY SUBPAR MOVING COMPANY. read more

These guys moved me on December 1st and I can't even begin to tell you what a great experience it was. I had 3 very nice young men doing my move, Dell, Phillip and Damien they took care of my belongings like it was their own. They were very fast and very polite. I would recommend them to anyone who is moving. I have moved several times and let me tell you this was the simplest move I have made. They wrapped all of my furniture and I didn't end up with one scratch! That never happens! 2 thumbs up to my GREAT crew! read more

Cedric and his team came a few minutes late because they had the address wrong but they were very apologetic. They movers made sure all my furniture was cared for, wrapped and padded. They were taking no chances! My husband and I moved into a three story house with all the bedrooms and laundry room on the top floor, and these guys knocked it all out quickly and efficiently. Cedric even helped my father hook up the washer and dryer. We greatly appreciated their attention to detail and their positive attitudes. I'd definitely hire them again. read more

Owner Michael and his team are very professional. They did a great job explaining what they were doing and how they were going to do it. Michael checked in during the move to make sure we were satisfied and happy. Moving crew was led by a very good coordinator and an experienced relocater. The third mover was average. The 2 movers who moved my home were excellent. They arrived on time and worked very hard the entire time. However, the communication with this company is severely lacking. I was suppose to have 3 guys. On moving day, only 2 showed up. I was told that it was a busy weekend for them and they just didn't have enough people (even though I reserved my day 2 months in advance). I was never told this ahead of time. So although they adjusted my rate, the move took longer than it would have had 3 guys showed up. The owner returns calls/emails only when he wants to, it seems. I was overcharged and told that I would receive the excess money back. However, its now been 25 days since I moved and I haven't received my check yet. I don't know if I would use Zephyr again. read more

Completely satisfied with the services I received from Zephyr Moving. In the past, I've had many bad experiences with moving companies from misleading the prices to carelessly damaging my furniture. Moving with Zephyr was not only affordable, but an overall stress free experience. The movers were very kind and knowledgeable, not one time was I worried about my belongings getting damaged.
