This is a "satellite" facility so beware or find another place. This one on 7500 N. Macarthur leaves a lot to be desired. When you do call, you get sent to another location. If that location calls you back, they have no information and refer you to the district manager. His job is to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. I have had the lock cut off erroneously, the door to my unit damaged, the door to the bank of units damaged and unavailable, the gate to the entire storage facility inoperable and, well, I think that is it. My rate when from $70 to $292 over time. In summary, just find another place. Maybe another Public Storage even. This one is just a headache. read more

Today I have some unpleasant experience at the Public Storage while I was trying to put my stuff in. Around last week for several days the building elevator was not working due to some electrical problem and I never complained and waited until it is fixed. Today when I was loading my stuff into the elevator and so kept the door open for less than two minutes a lady from a community approached and asked to close the door. I told her that I need minimal time to load the stuff into the lift before closing the door but she was adamant and went to the office to complain about me. By that time I came one level up and unloaded the stuff. After sometime a lady (seems the security) of the same community approached me and told me that I should not keep the elevator door open. I told her that this is required naturally to load and upload your stuff but she said I have to use a push cart (that I did not have that time) and threatened me to terminate my lease if I do not comply. This is the absolute worst storage company in the world Public Storage. Public Storage just took over my storage building company and they refused to answer the calls or deal with me at all and they're causing so many problems for me and the people on the phone literally are so unprofessional I can't even believe they have a job, these are my personal belongings I've had for over 10 years and because of a paperwork issue y'all are treating me like crap and I'm gonna leave negative reviews with the truth of my experience everywhere until someone calls me back to resolve the issue. I have had a very large storage unit for 12+ years at All Storage (Now Public Storage) on 11025 Riverside Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76244. At times, I have had 2 units over the years. The large unit I use for business and have shipments a few times a month. Customer service was great with All Storage. Public Storage has been the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced. I work in customer service and am appalled at the way they treat their customers. They have turned away 2 shipments of mine from work in the past couple of weeks. The office has been CLOSED this week with no explanation. They keep my storage key inside their office so that I can have boxes delivered while I am at work. Guess what....Nobody is there and shipments returned. They have CLOSED/LOCKED their bathrooms for public use, saying, "People do things in there they shouldn't do." They will not let you use the dumpster for trash. The rate for my unit went up from $195 to $265 . I have called the management office several times over the past 2 weeks. Leave a message everytime and have NEVER received a call back. I've called corporate number and you can't talk to anyone - just text chat. Very condescending person named Chyna "chatted" with me yesterday. I asked what time the office is closed for lunch...she told me between 12-2. I said Wow- a 2 hour lunch. Chyna said she would "break it down for me" and said they can go between 12-1 or 1-2 and it is a state law. Do NOT store anything here if you need any assistance. Cleared one storage unit. Wasn't able to clear second because 2nd floor. The time went over for movers from carrying some things by hand down stairs. Got extra fees by movers. Long review: Terrible experience with this place. If I could give 0 stars I would. I admit the first year was fine. I had an inside, climate controlled unit. When I originally signed up for the unit, I met the location manager. He seemed attentive, and I saw him occasionally in the office. I was in and out of my unit at least once a quarter and everything was fine. Then they got a new manager, whom I never met or saw. There were always fed-ex notes taped to the office door. She was clearly never there. The next time I went to my unit, there was rat feces all in the hallway. When I opened my unit, I saw there was rat feces in there as well. There were chewed pieces of the insulation from the ceiling littering the unit, and I could see big holes in the insulation. I called the manager. No answer, left a voice mail explaining that there was evidence of rats and concerned not just about my things but because rats chew wiring, which is a fire hazard. She never returned my call. I called 3 more times over the next 3 weeks, asking her politely to call me back so that they could tell me they were aware of the issue and ask what they were doing to take care of it. She NEVER CALLED ME. After the second call with no response I emailed corporate to explain the issue and ask them to ask the manager to call me. They never responded either. Then I got online and spoke with a person on live chat. I asked them to relay my message to the manager and for someone to call me. The chat person assured me someone would get in touch. No response. Here's the thing. I live in Texas. I can understand that something like a pest issue occurs. BUT NO ONE WOULD EVER TALK TO ME FROM THE LOCAL SITE. All I needed was a phone call with an apology that the issue was going on, and assurance that they were taking care of it. In the meantime, my things were being peed and pooped on, and chewed up. I emailed corporate again and called the manager again, saying I was going to move out and that I was disappointed by the lack of communication. I then scheduled my move out date, which you HAVE TO DO VIA THEIR WEBSITE. In other words, you can't speak to the local manager to schedule a meeting where they physically confirm you've left the unit clean and empty. I scheduled it for Nov 30, but moved out Nov 20. I then spoke to a chat person online again and told them I was moved out and asked what else to do, since I couldn't reach the manager. They said I didn't have to do anything else and told me to keep the lock and key that you buy at the outset. I opened all my things to look for damage, and cleaned and disinfected it all, and moved it to another storage company. I left my unit much cleaner than it was, I even cleaned out all the feces and took pictures to prove it. When I did so, I discovered a couple packs of rodenticide that had been thrown in there. So management was clearly getting my messages, figured that was enough of a "solution" and refused to ever communicate with me. Don't get me wrong either, I wasn't being a Karen about this. All the voicemails I left were polite and just asking someone to contact me. THEN, unbelievably, I got an email from the company saying my December payment was overdue. I spoke to a chat person AGAIN, telling them I had scheduled a move out date on their website, moved out even earlier than the date, and then spoke to a chat person to tell them I moved out already (Nov. 20.) The chat person assured me that I would not be charged and the issue would be taken care of. I even asked the chat person for some kind of confirmation number because the company was proving so untrustworthy. Today, I got a letter from a collection agency about the December bill! God only knows what kind of endless hassle I'm going to have to go through to fix this now. Not to mention whatever effect it will have on my credit. Public Storage should be ashamed of themselves. What TERRIBLE customer service and work ethic. Do yourself a favor and find another company for your storage needs! read more

Clean and convenient but beware that they will raise your rent every 6 months by up to 30%. If you are planning to keep it for more than a few months you are better off at an independent storage place. This place has closed the office and uses "offsite management". I was charged between 450 and $500 a month for a 15 x 10 air condition storage unit paid for two years of storage roughly between 10 and $12,000. The air conditioner was broke for 70% of the time I received no discount, my furniture was ruined from humidity and heat. The rats chewed up our wicker furniture and rattan furniture rat droppings everywhere urine stains everywhere air conditioning filters had been changed in over a year. And the rats chewed through the condensation drip line. I guess they were thirsty water, all in the hallways and I have photos for everything they offered no compensation. This was in the West Palm Beach location on blue Heron Boulevard. The employees that worked the front desk couldn't have been any nicer, corporate was horrible rude and basically couldn't care less about my complaints. They never fix the air conditioning units. There were four air conditioning units that ran the whole building. Only one of them was working it averaged 85° inside the building. Once again I have photos of everything , the registers from the air conditioning unit covered in black mold . read more

Very unhappy with my experience. 1- The fan in our building has not worked the entire time that I've occupied the unit. When I asked the manager about it he said it should be working. I told him it wasn't working and has never worked. He said he would TRY to do something. His words, and I quote. "I mean it SHOULD be working. I'll TRY to get it to work." 2- one of the door panels, consistently, doesn't work. I notified the manager about this and he said he would have to call out a vendor to fix it. It seems that the company should replace the parts instead of calling an outside vendor every time it doesn't work properly. 3- Rats. We were never told our building had rats. In fact, we rented a unit and later found out the unit next to ours had a rat infestation. Do you know how I found out? I saw rat droppings all over the floor and heard them in the units and ceilings. I notified the manager and he said they knew about it and were doing something. He said I would know the poison they were putting out was working because I would be able to "smell the dead rats." A couple days later, I saw the person who is STILL occupying the unit walk in with a hazard mask and industrial size spray canister. He was allowed to do treatment while I was in there. After a couple minutes I had to leave quickly due to the order. It was suffocating. I advised the manager and he said it was deodorant. That was not true. It was toxic poison. The smell was trapped because there is no ventilation due to fan not working. The smell has now permeated into my items. I had to prop open doors each time I went into the building to get air flow. I asked the manager to help with this and he stuck a broom in the doorway. 4- I used my own trash can to clean up piles of rat droppings. It hadn't been cleaned and was a health hazard. I used paper and my own trash can. I didn't have a bag so I left my trash can outside so I could return with a bag to dump it. Why has this become my responsibility? After moving all day, I was tired and didn't return. My trash can disappeared. I asked the manager about it. He said he took it because it had trash and couldn't be left outside. Keep in mind, directly across (7 feet away) there was a PILE of trash (boxes, fake flowers, broom, decor, etc) that wasn't touched for days. I said okay but I used it to lean up the rat droppings and didn't have a bag. I asked for my trash can back and he said he would look for it and call me. Never called and never got my trash can back. So he took my property, that I used to clean up someone else's trash and rat crap-that he should have cleaned up, while he left the HUGE pile of trash right next to it. Cool. Thanks. I asked for a free month rent due to all these issues. The manager said he would ask his manager. This was a month ago. I went into the office to follow-up and he said he Emailed his manager asking for HALF a month off and hasn't heard back. I asked for a phone number to contact someone to expedite the process. He gave me attitude and the phone number. I called the number and a recording came on saying that number doesn't accept calls. I went online to call corporate and it reroutes me back to the on-site manager. I tried Emailing and the site wouldn't allow me. An error message popped up, "Opps! Something went wrong but we are working on it!" So here we are, no compensation, no communication, no follow-up. But what I do have is a unit that has been compromised with vermin, a fly infestation due to rotting rat corpses, a manager who has an attitude problem, and a full month's bill. At what point does customer service come in to play? At what point does doing the right thing come into play? It seems that doesn't exist at this location. read more

A place that I feellike needs a REAL person on site instead of a kiosk. I purchased a space from leaving from a different location in DFW. To the on In Richardson Tx. Let's talk about the Importance of being able to walk in and say hey can you help me- instead they have a kiosk with remote person that comes on and try to assist you. Everything was ok until I couldn't get in the gate. I had to walk back in 3 times, give my info 3 times and keep my heart rate down cause I couldn't access the code. Keep in mind this is during work hours. The 2nd time the rep said I would have to come Back because the hours for management was not available- wait a minute- so I have to come back, keep the rental truck because the gate access code they provided doesn't work? Okay so on my 3rd time, the lady goes I remember you just called- I said I know and I still can't get in. What's the problem? She asked me if I' m putting the info in correct, of course,I can read and follow directions. So she decided to try to access the gate on her end. Gate opens ok, (the 1st time they could have saved me time and time again by doing this) I'm now in the driveway looking for the door because it says 2nd floor- no door for the 2nd floor. Now I'm confused, look up the 1800 number speak to a rep he keeps telling me that there's a letter on the building, no where in site or the map the send to your email has a letter. He still trying to give pointless directions, so I took it upon my self to walk the building and look at this backyard map and (I) see that I NEVER had to go into the gate. The storage space was not inside the GATE, but on the side-Out of all of the running back and forth inside the kiosk room. IF YALL HAD A DAMN HUMAN BEING HE OR SHE COULD HAVE DIRECTED ME AND I WOULD HAVE SAVE TIME- INSTEAD YALL WANT TO TRY SOMETHING WHERE IT DOES NOT BELONG! What happened to human interaction?!? Also, I came with my own lock- Since y'all don't have a person to give my money Back for a LOCK YALL PROVIDE, I had to travel extra miles the next day just to get reimbursed- What happened to using logical brain cells!?! All of this could have been provided with a person who sits or stands at a desk and make sure the experience is worth the value and Time! Let's just say what if I didn't know what a 5x5 looks like or wanted to see other spaces? Who has the ability to jump out of a screen of a kiosk and being able to let me SEE my options? Been a customer for over 10 years. Rent raised again motivated us to start cleaning out the unit. Door to the unit is not working correctly - notified person in office. Was told the door would be fixed sometime by an outside contractor and that I needed to leave key. I asked for receipt for key so they couldn't say we lost it. This resulted in "What do you want me to do about it" from the desk person. Would have been nice to have a discussion instead of being treated like a nuisance. This further motivated me to clean the unit out ASAP. Not sure if you can get a better deal from another self storage place - but I'd encourage you to try if at all possible. read more

I would recommend looking for an independent storage place rather than Public Storage. My experience with them was that they raised the rent every six to eight months, citing "market conditions". I started paying $98 a month for a 10x10 non-climate controlled unit late in 2011. When I moved out a couple of months ago, my rent had jumped to $189 - a 92% increase in a little over two years. In comparison, my mom's storage only went up 20% in 3 years. Quite simply, they count on people not wanting to go through the hassle of moving out, and if you google "Public storage scam" you will find many complaints about this same problem at all Public Storage locations. Their website also says that they prorate the last month - not true, they refused to do that. About this location, well it could be in better shape. Some units (not mine) had bent doors that were not fixed during the two years I rented there. My unit door had a gap that allowed bugs and dust to get in. The staff, or I should say Ben in particular, were very nice when I was signing the contract but after that they were pretty careless or even rude. Avoid. There are many other storage places. Do your research before you rent.. read more

I am sitting here listening to EDM and wondering is it a corporation thing or Mr. Ben? However, this experience at PS 08409 was a five star experience. It was not just the suggestion for moisture-absorbing products to maintain the boxes elasticity and integrity; nor was it just the suggestion of packing supplies and electronic coverings to insure the protection of my investment. No this experience at PS 08409 transcended the mundane and elevated itself into a fond memory, of being treated with dignity and respect and being seen as a viable asset to a billowing infrastructure. From the moment I was greeted by Mr. Ben to the trip in the cart (and mind you he opened the door on the way out and on the way in) to the meticulous way he explained the contractual agreement, this truly uplifted the whole experience of moving. You know employees of public storage facilities as a whole probably encounter clients at their most stressful points, it seems that this location takes that to heart and takes it upon themselves to ease a little of that burden with price and service. Honestly, Mr. Ben's extensive background in Real estate has served him well; for he treats each and every client as if you are buying some palatial estate, even when you are probably haggling trying to get a great deal on the unit that is the most apropos. To insure that you receive the best possible price he will even direct you to the website, if he can not offer you the best deal on-site! Every employee I have encountered at this location brought their A- game! My only regret is that PS 08409 was not a residential facility; because I pay an un-godly amount for living expenses and have not received no where near this type of genuine- desire for my business, my contribution, and my person. This comment is regarding the Irving Blvd location, yet it fits ALL public storage locations anywhere since this is CORPORATE POLICY. Do NOT ever use PUBLIC STORAGE! They raised our rates twice for our business's fixtures storage unit by $40 in only 6 months (without notice, hoping we would not see the increase) and stated it was to keep up with the average storage rental rates in the area. After checking other storage rates in the area, we found that the average storage rental rate was actually $20 below their initial starting rate, before increases. They do this knowing most people do not want to spend the time and money it takes to move. We have had to use storage for the last couple years while we wait to get in our new building, and not ONE of the other storage places even considered raising our rent. PUBLIC STORAGE is a business that would rather take advantage of it's customers instead of just doing fair business with them. We would advise anyone using or considering using them to look elsewhere for their storage needs. read more

I can't say too much about the facility, because I've only recently started storing my stuff there. But I can certainly say that Cassidy, an employee at this location, is wonderful! I arrived on Sunday to check in, with my movers behind me with their truck full of my stuff, only to realize I had made a mistake and reserved a unit at a different location! Cassidy was so helpful and found me a unit at this location and even offered me the larger of the units at a price cheaper than the smaller one I had thought I had rented. One of the worst facilities to rent from the most unethical people who threaten to lock down your unit even though you pay the rent on time . They have staff who should be at home spending time with their grandkids (no offense ) but they don't let you know about the hidden charges they have while renting the facility . I had two units and both had a spacing from underneath the shutter for rats and rodents to get in and mess up your stuff. They never cared to fix it . Water drips from the sealing and they never inspect before renting. Save your self the pain and look some where else . read more
