DO NOT RENT FROM ANY PUBLIC STORAGE FACILITY!! Onsite Staff are great people BUT Corporate is what makes this place DECEITFUL and SHADY!! Corporate offices of Public Storage raised our rate 40% in 4 months and after asking around will raise it continuously thereafter every quarter! Nobody tells you when you sign up that they will raise your rate up 40% or more. So why would you think as much. They wait for you to move in get everything settled and Hit you with this increase expecting you to pay it! Here is the kicker! I went online and at the same facility for a bigger unit they offered it for less than what I was paying. This Shady practice shows you they are willing to let renters go just so they can get people to pay the increase. And if they don't and you move out they do it to the next person. I will be reporting to Better Business Bureau as well as telling everyone I know never to rent from this terrible company. I called corporate office and they basically said there is nothing they can do because it's based on demand. even though I told them I see open units at the facility. It took me 10 minutes to find a storage facility closer to my home with better access hours and 25% less than what I am paying. Already confirmed with new place that they only do rate adjustments every 9 months and the maximum they have done was 9% during a high time. This is acceptable. I made a mistake in signing up with PUBLIC STORAGE but I hope this review helps others in not making the same mistake. I truly hope that public storage corporate reads this and gets their act together. I guess for now I will use my only consumer power and move!! I got a great quality and value storage unit here. The premises is clean, it feels safe, and the manager Jon is very helpful and kind. He went over everything thoroughly. He even gave me, my dogs, and the people from the moving company I hired cold waters. The concrete makes it feel way cooler in the building than the outside, making it feel climate controlled. All you need to know about this location is one of two things...if you currently rent a unit-VACATE A.S.A.P. Number two...If you are considering to rent a unit-ABSOLUTELY DO NOT and take your personal belongings to A-1 self storage where the staff and facilities are above and beyond expectations. Public storage fosters staff whom are deceitful and despicable to customers and violate the space they rent stealing their belongings. My horrendously aweful experience along with similar stories of several other patrons whom were violated in the same manner. Public Storage Corp. should be ashamed to allow such activities and situations unfold and just turn a cheek at the people that have been victimized. I'm just devastated, completely and utterly devastated to gain knowledge that staff would be behind the steady stream of break-ins. I needed a unit to store an antique automobile. The right size unit was available and Tammie, the manager went out of her way to make sure everything was clean and done correctly. I am retired law enforcement and made sure the location was safe and not subject to break ins. The fences are solid and security is good. I suspect if someone's unit was "broken into", it was a case of insurance fraud. read more

Awful. Staff told me to reserve online. I show up for the key and the office is closed on Sunday. I lost an entire week of my reservation due to my moving schedule. I will not be reimbursed. Why did they tell me to come on Sunday of they never planned to be there? RIP off. read more

I recently rented two units based on the availability of entry to the gate. Which at the time of rental..was 8 AM to 9 PM daily. Unbeknownst to me and with no proper Advanced warning, and absolutely no signage at location except for a tiny sign on the keypad, of which I do not utilize as I have the app! as recommended by them to utilize the app so you don't have to get out of the car. I pulled up to my unit at 6 PM and was unable to gain entry, because of the time change so it cost me $500 in trucking costs. I Immediately called the offices but of course it's a corporation, so no one was available and the people that were available sent me to a voicemail. I left four messages two for Dawn the district manager.. of course it took two messages and probably a prompt from the on-site manager for her to return my call. She was condescending and interested in my experience and basically called me a liar, stating that they sent an email out and there was signage at the facility, and as a customer they could care less if I stayed or left. Wrong response! I asked for compensation and I was told that they would not be giving me any kind of compensation. So I would pick any other storage facility other than this one! don't not use- Public Storage. As a matter of fact I recommend security storage in Huntington Beach on Slater Avenue they are outstanding in their customer service. read more

Nothing but great things to say about this Public Storage. Property was clean and well lit, new office design is great too. This time I had the pleasure of meeting Christina who greeted me when i got to the property..I asked for a dolly and as it was a busy day and they were in use she still spent 10 minutes searching for one and asking other how much longer they would be using theirs...when I was paying labor by the hour this was huge for me. Do not use this facility! As you can see from other reviews...LOTS OF THEFT! As I was writing my police report, I checked the 'Monthly Storage Burglary Report'. This PS - 5566 Bolsa is at the top! 15 thefts in April, 22 YTD! (this does not include the month of May) That says a lot! First and foremost, they do not care about their customers. The only cameras are at the entrance of the building, not in any of the hallways. Clearly the thieves know this too! How people can be so cold and malicious to break in and steal things that have clear sentimental value. read more

My unit was burglarized. The lock was smashed and my belongings were stolen. Unfortunately, I did not check reviews before renting. I rarely add reviews to yelp, but the response by management was essentially, it's not our fault and we don't care. I asked about cameras and video and was told, there was no camera near my locker. I filed a police report myself, since they would not. The impression management gave me was that they really don't care if your unit is broken into. The only positive is that I no longer need a storage locker. read more

All I want to say is that this has been a very easy and painless experience. Anwar is the person that helped me. Half way through my rental I needed to down size and instead of pushing me into a big unit he helped me move into a smaller unit than I thought I could use saving me a ton of money. Been a customer of Public Storage since 1987, every two years they raise my rent about $15.00, this time they have raised it $38.00. This is how they treat their good paying customers. If you are thinking long term storage this is definitely NOT the place. If you are looking for a 10x20, I will be leaving soon! Very disappointed... I have been a customer of the Public Storage facility on Bolsa Ave (Huntington Beach) since 2016. Moreover, I have rented storage units (including PS) in five other states. My current experience is by far the most favorable due to the acting manager, John Davis. He is conscientious, efficient, pleasant, and best of all, very customer oriented. For example, in addition to maintaining a clean and orderly property, he has volunteered suggestions and/or PS related information that have saved considerable time, effort, and money. I would be very grateful to the Public Storage management if Mr. Davis became the resident manager of this facility. read more

I would never recommend this place. We've rented from a few different places over the years and this one is the worst. Our main concerns are: 1. the lack of carts (only one available during business hours, and it's MIA most of the time) 2. The elevator has been broken numerous times (such fun lugging heavy boxes upstairs) 3. One of the walls of our unit had a hole in the drywall (allowing people to look inside our unit) and it took months to fix it. 4. Numerous break-ins (you can look this up on the HB police website) 5. Only a few months after moving in they jacked our price up by over 20% But the real kicker... I went all the way up to the regional manager to express my concerns... and the response was "yeah, since you are an existing customer we can't offer any discounts, credits or customer service adjustments." The bottom line, feel free to rent here if you like feeling devalued as a customer, you like carrying heavy boxes long distances and want to always worry that your stuff isn't safe. read more
