I rented a unit here at the last minute and what a mistake this was. This place couldn't wouldn't even know how to find you even if they had a map ! The unit I rented had oil all over the floor and of course no one was there to help me then it took me literally calling the district manager to get another unit . Then they bill you telling you your past due and it's not even the first . Last issue RATS HAD BEEN IN MY STORAGE !! Rented due to price being agreeable. But they began to raise the rate on me and had issues with rats and snakes. I reached out via email and called the office but no one ever responded. A bit ridiculous to raise rates when they have a pest issue. Then as we began to move out to a new storage place (indoor temperature control and cheaper) we found huge roaches in all our stuff. I know they didn't not come from us as I pay for quarterly extermination and never had and issues before. read more

I rented a 10x20 on feb 21, the same day, they charged my account a total of $218, $158 for rent and the rest for incidentals. Today, one week to the day, I was charged again, it said for the first month $49. I have never even checked into the rental or picked up the lock for using it, the lock you must buy from them for$20! so today (March1) I called to find out why I was charged again and to cancel the rental, and Michelle at the Helotes Texas office called me back, I tried to explain and ask and she said I was wrong, I explained I had the email and she said Mam are you going to let me fix this or not,". She continued to spout numerous rude, hateful, and condescending, comments and she wouldn't even let me speak and when I tried she would immediately cut me off, I asked her name 4 times before she would answer. I told her I was reporting her to the district manager and she hung up on me! Unbelievable the unprofessional behavior. The number she called from was 1 (210) 489-1458. I have no doubt they have had other complaints about this manager, as her behavior was so unprofessional. I reported her to the corporate office and am currently waiting on the district manager to call me back. Until they do something about her I do not recommend this place at all! See pic for evidence of my bill fir 7 days, I paid a total of $268 for a 10x20!! This is my bill for $7 days and I have paid the full amount almost $260 for 7 days use of a 10x20 nonclimate control outdoor unit, the $46 was removed today after I called them because it was automatically removed from my account! I canceled it within 7 days and they still refused to reimburse me any money except for $20 for the lock they made me purchase. This place is a joke. read more

The property is clean; that is all I have. **However, the storage prices are raised quickly. I've been a loyal paying customer for over 5 years or over $10K; 10x15 non-climate control and they raised my rate again from an already high amount of $277 to $365. When I called to ask about yet another increase; they did give me a 6-month waiver to keep my already high $277 and said that's all they can do. I have paid this company well over 10k and they didn't care that I left them. When I called to cancel; the man didn't thank me for being a customer; just made sure I knew to take my lock and they would stop charging me. Just WOW!! Seriously, bad customer service. read more

I give it five stars for the staff they are awesome. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The storage facility is very clean and convenient. It gets three stars because I have never had a storage unit but increase their monthly fees so often. I had three storages and forced to move out because it became so expensive it was like renting an apartment. Increases should be done once a year not every couple months. In my opinion the frequent increases were quite ridiculous. That's why I chose to move out and go somewhere else. I had two very large storages and a regular 10 x 10. read more

Great service!! I did an express check in via the website. Manager (Cheri) called immediately to confirm the reservation. She was courteous and friendly. I was in and out in less then 30 minutes! The following Tuesday I had to go back and move to a bigger size storage unit...I didn't know I had so much stuff. Mariane (Property Manager) took care of me and was able to complete the storage unit transfer seamless and quickly. No one goes to a storage unit for fun obviously it sucks having to go to any of them but out of every storage unit I've been to I would say this one is the best. Rates are very cheap and the manager here is super friendly. The building is actually pretty cool because it looks small from the outside and then when you go in it's HUGE, like if you've ever seen the movie click where Adam Sandler goes into the bed bath and beyond and he walks into the "beyond" section of the store and it's enormous and its just in a room you would expect to be small but it's not so it throws you off , it reminds me of that. They help here by offering boxes for sale and locks, but they can be pretty pricey so is recommend buying elsewhere for things like that. The storage units are cheap though and the insurance is cheap as well so you don't have to worry to much about your items. I have a climate controlled unit here and it's nice. You need a code to get into and out of the gate, and then a code to get into the building and it's being monitored by surveillance so it can help give you peace of mind and know that your stuff is safe. I've compared deals here to other places around and this is the best one I've found for the quality and price. My only complaints are that you don't have access to your storage 24/7 and also the prices they sell things in store for are a major rip off. For a thing of tape and not a large one it is $8, they charge a lot for locks and some boxes over $23 for just one. Don't buy anything here if you decide to get a storage unit because he only thing they are good on price here is the storage unit itself, everything else is a huge rip read more

I've been frustrated with this company from day one. They lure you in with "great rates" then after you're already there with your moving company with no other options, hit you with a "mandatory insurance fee". If you're going to say the base price of a storage unit is a certain price, pretty sure this should be included seeing as how it's mandatory. THEN, they go and raise the price. Never any mention of that happening when you sign up, until that too, is mandatory. We received a notice in the mail but when no one ever answers the phone, what are you supposed to do, I don't even live in the country, not a whole lot I can do in 30 days. I will be SO GLAD to be done with this shady company in a few months when I return home. Morals, Public Storage! Get some. read more

Update to original review: anyone next to your unit can drill through to your unit!!! Any unit!!! Units are not safe!! Would give ZERO stars if I could!!! BEWARE of storing anything of value at this storage facility!! If you want to store junk, go ahead. We've rented an indoor storage unit for several years for large Christmas decorations and winter storage. We initially purchased the lock and keys directly from the facility. Last month we went to pick up winter items and noticed several items missing. There was NO sign of a break in at all. The business office was no help either. There are cameras mounted outside but no one offered to view video to see if there was any activity outside out unit. There are NO cameras inside. Clearly an inside job/someone with an extra key handy. Filed a police report but can't replace my wedding dress, every stitch of winter clothing I owned or $5k worth of ski gear. If you must rent here, buy the insurance. They know who has purchased insurance from them. They won't rip you off if they know you have their insurance to file against. Good luck!! read more

Not competitive with other local facilities. My rent went up every year. When it reach $245 for a 10 x 30 unit, I( checked around and the public storage ubit right down the road was offering the same unit for $196 but only to new customer. When I tried to work something out with customer service the were rude and not interested. So I found another 10 x 30 for $165 But I would like to praise the manger at Public Storage, Mary Ann. In the 2 years I was there any problems I had sh was excellent in hern handling of any problems that arose. read more

Started renting here 12/1/15, 1/1/16 and multiple other occasions I notified the management that the door from the office to the climate controlled units wasn't closing. Fast forward 10/20/16, 11 units robbed because thieves who robbed the outside units 2 weeks earlier saw the door ajar and I lost about $4000.00 dollars in parts and tools. At the time the camera that was pointing at the door was a dummy, It is 1 month later and the door still isn't fixed. I will be looking for another location that is better managed. Ask if the site is secure before you store your valuables or you could be in for disappointment. read more
