Look somewhere else. The place has a smell, it's so outdated and creepy. The lights turn on so delayed you're walking in the dark. I booked a unit online, tried to stop by the office 4pm on a Thursday and no one was there which was surprising. I own a business so have a few units around CT. I mainly use public storage and I have always had great experiences. I wandered around this place for an hour. I never got sent a map. There is no map posted or signs to navigate the unit number rational which seems to random. I literally could not find the unit number. I went to all entrances, all elevators all floors. I called the number in the office and left a message as I left frustrated that I wanted to cancel my reservation. The property manager was just short with me immediately snapping at me. I got refunded my deposit or whatever but they cannot refund a $30 admin fee. Which is outrageous because there was no admin it was all a computer email/ txts. There was no actual person on site or on the phone who could help me. The guy was obviously frustrated I get it but no reason to take it out on a customer.... He was making very unprofessional comments that were just completely unnecessary. Bottom line, skip this place go to the 30 other newer cleaner storage places in the area. The property manager mentioned he also works at the Bridgeport location which is interesting because I always see staff on site and each time they have gone above and beyond to help. I have never had an issue with staff there and certainly never had the attitude I received here. read more

I've been a customer since 2019 and I have paid over $10K in rent and insurance. My 10 by 20 unit cost me close to $500 a month by the time I moved out this April. When I went to empty my unit, I found many of my items covered in vermin droppings and urine and even a dead mouse body for good measure. I filed a claim only to be told the insurance policy does not cover vermin, but they were willing to pay up to $250 to "cover" what I lost...oh and I am responsible for disposing the vermin infested items that were a direct result of their lack of pest control. I really wish they told me that there is zero pest control before I signed up. I'm not sure if this is how all Public Storage properties operate but STAY AWAY from the public storage in Fairfield CT unless you want to pay a lot of money to have your materials damaged as was my experience. read more

This place is a scam and ripoff! I moved in here from another storage that was raising my rent every few month because price was attractive: about $95 for 5X10 unit including tax and obligated insurance. First of all I had problem fitting all my stuff and when I measured the unit - it was ONLY 3.5" wide!!! When I complained and demanded another, properly sized unit - they said nothing else was available. So I stayed there just for the price and location. Now, just couple years later they jacked my price to $191, which is a DOUBLE of the original price!!! I am moving out this month and exploring options if I can take them to Court for misinformation and demanding insurance, which should be optional... STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOKED PLACE!!! read more

Public Storage is a rip-off, who arbitrarily changes rates, and waits until you've been there about 6 months to change and nearly double your rent. I started using Public Storage about a year ago. The first month being free was nice. For the first 6 months, my rent was about $160. Then they arbitrarily changed it to $270. They explained it as "Supply and Demand" and stated "the rent changes daily". 6 months later, when I went to change the unit into somebody else's name, the rent magically went back down to $160. Essentially, they wait until you've been there for a good period of time, then nearly double the rent, because they assume you're unwilling to move all of your items. If that wasn't bad enough, Public Storage has some of the worst late fees I've ever seen. Late one day...too bad you get fined. Late one month...too bad, you're now locked out. Lesson: AVOID PUBLIC STORAGE LIKE THE PLAGUE. There are much better storage options out there. read more

The first few times I went there, there was a until in same corridor as mine that had what looked like motor oil leaking out from under the door. Do not use this place. They are completely unprofessional. I'm sitting in their parking lot at 10:30 in the morning. My gate code won't work. The office is closed. This is on a Thursday morning! There is a note in the window: "I won't be back until 1:30 sorry for the inconvenience." No one answers the phone. So now I loose half a day because of their complete unprofessional attitude. Also, the guy who worked there is so rude. If you asked more than 1 question, he instantly gave you the annoying voice that he doesn't want to deal with you. I just rented a storage unit this weekend at this location. I found an online special on the website, and I'd had relatives use the facility before without any problems. The location is convenient to 95, and the check-in process was fantastic. Amalia and Jerrod were incredibly friendly, showed me the unit before I agreed to it, and answered all my questions easily and knowledgeably. I recommend trying to get a unit on the first floor, as loading and unloading are much easier. The only thing to know about this place is that it is not climate-controlled which I would have preferred, but I didn't do my homework--shame on me. I'd avoid putting anything that doesn't do well in the cold here in the winter, electronics, etc. The facility is in a good enough neighborhood, and is secured by a gate and cameras. I feel confident that I chose the right facility to store important property and I'd recommend it to anyone considering storage in the mid-coastal Fairfield County area. read more
