Never answer the phone. Clearly they only have 1 person working at a time. They are quick to call to tell you when you owe, but slow to answer. I had to call them 2 weeks straight just to finally get a response today that my unit lock was cut yesterday. Now I have called the office 3x due to needing help and of course I am being sent to voicemail. I would have been left had the location not been central to my home. Nobody has any sense of urgency. The access to a lot of the storage units is impossibly small and the uhaul we had was not going to fit. I called public storage to cancel my reservation and told me multiple times to contact the property manager, to no avail, and mind you we're still waiting with a full 26' truck trying to unload. I had to call corporate again and again until they said they'd cancel, but here I am waiting for confirmation details to cancel. Please do yourself a favor and go to Extra Space storage if you're in Duncanville. The customer service is SIGNIFICANTLY better and will have you up and running in no time, with plenty of space to a proper truck. read more

Signed up for storage space February 2025 at $104.00/monthly. By July 2025, they changed it to $136.00/monthly without my knowledge. End of September I decided to move to a smaller space that is supposed be $50 with insurance and all. Paid in full. 2days later ,On a sunday, they called me stating I have a balance due after my account was paid in full. i Went ahead and cancelled using their storage, moved all my stuff out before the last day of same month that I was made to pay for 2 spaces, refused to refund my money. Was giving supervisors telephone number and name to call for explanation of charges. Called her 2days in a row left detailed messages, never returned my call. I had to call their customer service number to get my refund. Wish I could give Zero star read more

I rented a 5 x 15 unit here in August of 2020 for $67. I moved out December 30, 2023, paying $177 for the same unit. On the 30th of December, I made sure the unit was clean (less the huge hole and water damage to the floor). I removed my lock and left the unit door open as instructed. I was still issued a bill for the month of January and received several late notices throughout the month. Despite calls and reassurance from management that it was noted I moved out before the 1st of the month - I continued to received phone calls and email notifications that I owed money. Today, February 27, 2024 - I'm holding a notice from a collection agency. I don't owe Public Storage any money and I now have to fight a collection agency over this. When I moved out, I didn't even cause a fuss about the hole in the unit or the water damage to my property. I simply wanted to be done paying such a ridiculous price for such a small unit. I wouldn't recommend Public Storage to anyone (especially this Duncanville location). read more

This review is not about the specific location. It is about Public Storage, the organization. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and Public Storage STILL CHARGES late fees. I was so caught up with taking care of my 87 year- old mother, working from home, and generally adjusting to a new normal, that I did not remember to pay my monthly storage unit bill. One day, it just JUMPED into my overloaded brain, and I immediately called and begged that my items not be sold. The very nice and empathetic employee called the next day and told me what day would be the latest. As soon as he quoted the fee,I asked if there was a way the late fees could be waived. He sympathized completely, but kindly informed me it was business as usual. He continually apologized, but I tell you, I am moving my things to another place when this is over. I cannot believe Public Storage is so unbelievably greedy as to continue as "business as usual" with the way things are now. Watch these guys like a hawk. they are S.O.Bs rent a unit at the bargain onl;ine price and the next month they double your rent. the send you an email and you get screwed. People are rude. They bust your chops constantly. I can stand that but there website lists the rates for the different sized units. I swear they will double it as soon as you move your stuff in. They feel you would rather pay twice as much rather than move and the contract allows them to do it. also, You have to buy their overpriced locks. this place is a total scam. read more

They're trying to force me to buy a $22 dollar lock when the lock I've already purchased is being used on all storage units surrounding mine. Property manager claims it's because of the district manager that you can only use the locks they have for purchase. Horrible customer service. read more
