Not safe horrible staff . I got broken into and NO ONE even called. All they did was use screws to "secure" my unit. I'd recommend stayinbg as far away from this (and betting all of them) location. Also their insurance only covers items that no one will steal (bathroom items, couch, table but NOTHING of value! Maybe StorQuest across the street could be better but who knows. I can say for your safety (a guy who had a unit 2 down from mine got physically assualted on the property) and the safety of your personal items go somewhere else. read more

I have used this company for storage needs for years. I own a small company and have always had good property managers. recently I had an issue with an inside wall being pushed into my space and consequently some items falling and breaking. took pictures and contacted the insurance company that is used by the storage company. filed a claim and followed all the requests for pictures, prices, receipts. was declined any compensation and was denied my claim. please read the fine print in what the actual orange door insurance covers because unless there is an earthquake, you are shit out of luck if something completely out of your control happens, like a wall being pushed into your unit. read more

Overall the units are some of the most affordable you will find but my storage door in specific did not close all the way. I rented a storage for about 2 months starting in January and the the day before I was moving out I called and the property manager let me know that all I needed to do to check out was clean up and call the office to tell them so they could check it themselves. So I moved my stuff out, took my lock, and left a voicemail like she told me to. A few weeks later I started getting messages and emails about paying for the unit that I was no longer in. I called the office and the only thing the lady who answered (which was the same property manager) could say was "well I wasn't here so the person who did the walk throughs probably just didn't make a note" and that if that was the case she couldn't do anything about it. I let her know that I left a voicemail when I moved out on February 25th that stated the unit number, my name, and that I had moved out. She again said she would talk to the person who did check outs that day and that was it. I check my mail yesterday and she in fact didn't do anything about it but sent me to collections. I will be disputing the charge from the collections company as I did my part to ensure someone knew I had moved out and cleaned everything. UPDATE: Kayla, the district manager helped resolve the collections bill and was very helpful and understanding of the situation. read more

The woman working at the front desk at 3pm on 12/30 was unwilling to help my father figure out how the gate code works. He had the correct code, but was having issues with the keypad. She escalated the situation into a screaming match and then proceeded to yell at me as I was trying to close our account. We took our things a left. It was really upsetting. I'll use one of the other close by facilities in the future. read more

This property is clean and secure and the on-site manager, Stacie, has been more than helpful since I met her over a year ago. I made arrangements to get everything moved out yesterday and throughout the days leading up to the move she was available for questions and guidance. I used U-Pack Cubes to move everything out and there is more than enough room on the property for ABF to drive a semi onto the property to load and unload the cubes. I think this is the only storage facility in town that has room for a semi to get in and out without any problems so that's a huge consideration for anyone using U-Pack Cubes. I paid a lot of rent [APPROX $3,000] to Public Storage (PS) [for 30 months storage from MAY 2010 TO DEC 2013] after PS said that they had 24/7 surveillance and security but they did not watch their security camera AND they hired stranger(s) from out-of-State who cut my lock and stole property; and they hired somebody who took a blower and just stood outside the units and used the tool to blow dirt into our units through the crevice's at the bottoms of the doors (all units are like garages outside). Although the rent is paid a month in advance, PS cuts the lock if you're 10 days behind in paying two months ahead, and states that PS has to do that lock cutting to inventory your personal property to sell all your property in the unit for $1 if you do not continue renting. THEN, PS states it will charge you up to $800 for the missed rent and cleanup AFTER PS LOCKS YOU OUT OF GETTING YOUR PROPERTY AND SELLS YOUR STORED PROPERTY AT PS FOR $1. I repeatedly told PS that they were acting illegally and their mgr Stacey and Steve kept saying a State statute allowed them to do it and pointed to the statute in a frame on the wall, and I said, I need to have that statute number and they gave me their framed statute and I read it and I said, 'No, NOTHING in this statute promotes PS policies of locking me out of getting my property; selling my property for $1 and charging me cleanup AFTER you give away my stored property from PS.' but PS continued and charged me $800 and I wrote the F.B.I. and that took care of that. read more

My family rented a space from this location for more than ten years and always had great customer service and support. The facility is well maintained, secure, and easily accessible. I have never rented a storage unit so have no experience with other providers but I would not recommend Public Storage. I searched around and signed up for a drive up unit at 5005 Evans in Denver. First month for $1, $24 set up fee and $88 a month thereafter. Ok, I agreed to those terms and was ready to move in. All was going well, Stacie showed me the unit, she was nice, unit seemed fine. we went back to the office started filling out paperwork and "what level on insurance do you want"? - "I don't want insurance" - "We require insurance"- "well if it is required why isn't it part of the quote". I was pretty miffed at the bait and switch here, the cheapest policy is only $11/ month but the principle matters and I would appreciate honesty that insurance is required but not necessarily theirs. Never did Stacy mention I may have an existing policy that could suffice. I did some research and there was a class action lawsuit in Florida against public storage regarding insurance. Public storage settled, that claim was regarding the misrepresentation that ALL the premiums flowed through to the insurance company. Stacy did not represent that but what is relevant is it seems public storage employees follow scripts and are pressured to sell the insurance. And I don't feel this is like renting a car where they offer optional insurance even though your personal policy may cover. This is a mandatory reoccurring cost. I checked the public storage site again and NO mention of an insurance requirement or a lock throughout the process, yes they sold me a required lock for $30. The storage place right across the street clearly states "insurance and lock needed" when reserving a unit on their web site. Don't know anything else about the place but certainly feels like a better way to start a business relationship. Stacy also casually mentioned they usually will not increase my rate for at least 6 months??? I know where I am heading if they do raise rates in 6 months. Regardless of where you rent be sure to ask upfront about potential rate increases and insurance. I checked with my insurance company and confirmed my insurance covers my items in storage and I am comfortable with my policy so I canceled the Public Storage policy. This is simple to do if you have an on-line public storage account, just select "edit" next to your policy amount. What I don't get is, storage is such a great business model that relies on human inertia and human inertia is so reliable why take action that adds motion to the equation? read more
