It's a few days after the fact so I am calmed down. My issue is with corporate more than this specific location, but this is the location I had to deal with. Michael Bussing at the call center was the CS rep that misled me. So, I am shopping for storage units. Saturday morning over the phone, Michael tells me he has the unit I need at the Clearwater location, which works for me, the price is $135/month, which works for me, and to move in I will have to pay $1 for the first month (It's a deal they advertise) plus a $24 processing fee, which makes their move in for $1 deal BS but it is still better than $135. I agree to his terms, load up, and drive to the location to get my unit and start putting stuff in it. Michael volunteers (I would not have thought to ask) during his sales pitch that the unit he has reserved for me is a unit I can back my truck up to, an "outside unit" is the industry term I learn later. I clarify that all I will need is $25 to move in and he assures me that is correct. I get there at about 330PM on Saturday. The on site manager, Kathy, takes me to see the unit. I know we are in trouble when she opens a door and starts leading me down a hall. I explain what Michael told me and she says he was mistaken. She has one such "outside" unit available but it is $150. She also explains that my move in cost has additional fees (taxes, a lock, some other stuff.) that bring the real move in cost to over $50. She tries to mollify me by explaining to me that the prices I was quoted came from a call center like it is unreasonable to expect that source of information to be accurate. I protest, strongly but politely as, even in my rage, I know it is not Kathy's fault. Kathy eventually agrees with me that it is unacceptable for any business to quote one price over the phone then double it in person, to describe their product one way then try to get the customer to accept a lesser option in person. She calls corporate and we can not speak to Michael but the area supervisor is reached and he says he will not budge or do anything to rectify. I chose to do business elsewhere and suggest you do to. I imagine that this deceit is successful for them in situations where maybe someone has driven their truckload of belongings a very long distance to arrive tired, too tired to argue, and just pay twice what they were quoted, and into a misrepresented product. I was a local move and, while pressed for time, I had the luxury of exploring options. I went with Uhaul down the street, paid $144 to move in, 2nd month is free, $124/month after that and for a much larger space. Public Storage wasted my day though and I had to move in Sunday. So as it seems that Public Storage's goal is to trick, then waste the time and effort of, their customers, they win. Congratulations Public Storage! read more

As I first time storage space user, I have all kinds of reservations about storage spaces and was naturally quite skeptical and cautious. But due to my out of state move, I needed a space and after reading a lot of reviews online, picked this storage location off Hwy 19N in Clearwater. My main factors for selection were that the manager of the property Cathy repeatedly received high praise and 5 star rating, the claims that the units and property are always clean and tidy and that the facility is secure and easily accessible. After my move in last week, I am happy to write that all these reviews and claims were true. The storage property is indeed clean, secure and super easily accessible. The manager Cathy is a wonderful woman who is professional, knowledgeable and patient. I know because I had to book and cancel my reservations two times due to change of my transportation plans and she was super patient with me and working hard to accommodate my schedule. Once I arrived, she gave clear instructions, drove me around to show me the property in a golf cart and provided me with a dollie to move in (that was greatly appreciated). She is top notch manager and I am sure the main reason the property is so well managed and consistently receives 5 star ratings since she took over 4 years ago. The unit I rented is 5x10, on the first floor. None of the units in this facility are air conditioned so that's something to know ahead of time. My space was clean and ready to move in. There is no electricity in the unit but the light from the hallway is sufficient to move and see in the unit. Everyone has to purchase storage insurance payable monthly which is about $11/mo charge or more depending on how much coverage you prefer. This covers you for break ins, some vermin damage, fire, water, etc damage. So far, I've had a great experience and am looking forward to continuing my lease at this facility. This review is for cathy from Star very good person from the start when we met a public storage 2 years ago she is a very nice people person who is a very good asset to public storage company she explains every detail about the business, she makes sure before you leave that you have a full understanding of what you just signed. up for and paid for she has a very pleasant personality and very helpful she keeps the storage very clean and neat and in order in the office and outside no trash outside or hanging around the building she keeps an open eye out for any discount that the company might have to offer she's a good friend to anyone who is kind and respects. her and she gives respect back and she has a great family as well the company should be proud to have found a good person that cathy is to work for them because she is really making sure this storage stands out as one of the best I would have given her 10 stars or more if I could. thank you for letting me give this review. read more

I visited Clearwater from Boston to see my sister who was in the hospital. During my visit I took care of some of my sister's financial affairs; she fell behind on a few of her bills due to being in the hospital for an extended period of time. I stopped by my sister's storage unit to pay her rent and I met the manager Cathy. I will never forget Cathy because she was sympathetic and concerned to discover my sister's condition. Once I reserved a unit the size I needed, the property manager called me to offer further information,and if I had any questions. The unit was clean, and the lock was right there when I opened it up. The property itself was clean and well kept. Along with a secured front gate and extensive video security system. I will gladly refer them to anyone who needs long or short term storage. Moving sucks and can be aggravating, but at least I know my stuff is secure and it's one less thing to worry about. read more

As someone who own's a moving company it is hard sometimes to find a good storage place that is so willingly to work with both the movers and the customer. This place was AWESOME! Donna was a total charm. Working with them was simple and flawless although I do wish on the first day of getting a unit you could move your items in later then 9pm I do understand the reasons. unless travel distance prohibits it this is my new go to storage place. read more

Kathy did an excellent job guiding us through the storage process. This was my first time using public storage, and she was so helpful and kind. When I saw the room I had originally thought I needed (10x10), I realized that space was too big. She didn't try to talk me into the bigger one. We were greeted sincerely. The $1 first month offer morphed into $56, but, still a very good bargain. Each storage area had a slightly elevated floor to help keep out rainwater. The area was clean. One wall was missing a panel and the screws were still there which was a hazard, but, it did not cause us to change our opinion. The toilet was very clean. Convenient location. read more
