I also appreciated that one of the managers (I think James was his name) came to introduce himself during his lunch break when I came to visit the unit for the first time. Jan 2025 $100 month increase, then they were going to increase again in May 25 another $100 with the insurance would be almost $550/month!!! I fought with them and got a 6 month extension on my current rate which was still highway robbery. this facility is not clean or climate controlled. I went in june to get some things out, first off all the rolling doors in my row had visible moisture on them and i had previously noted some boxes i had felt damp and soft to touch I had put 2 damprid containers in my unit and they were both completly full , climate control? I think not! My rolling door was also broken on this visit it was a little after the office closed so i was freaking out like what if it doesnt close? I called the number on the office door to leave a message for the property manager.. did what i had to do in the unit tried the number again. even called the 800 number only option is to call the property manger i already left a message for. no emergency # or even a human to speak to. Luckily I was able with a lot of force to get the door closed. Tried property manger again next day still no answer or a call back from the day before. Filed a complaint with the BBB. the district manager called while I was in a work meeting left a message. I tried calling back no answer. He also sent an email which I answered and never received a reply. BBB said since I didnt repsond they were closing my file! Fast forward to this week- 6 months later (door still broken btw) Clearing the unit out because I luckily found a bigger place to live and Jan 1 was the increase i was not going to pay for. Pulling things out I was horrified and angry. white appliances had turned yellow, furniture had rust , layers of dirt and mold all over them. Ive stored things in the basement of a 100yr old house that stayed in better condition. it was also sub zero in the building like see your breath cold wtf?! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

Went back to SQ today in an attempt to downsize to a smaller unit. The same lady was there and she…read morebrought up our previous encounter. Even though she wanted to discuss it further, I didn't carry on the conversation after the initial sentences because I felt it was not going to improve things. However, I was incorrect. When my wife asked for a smaller unit, we were told that there were none available on the first floor. When my wife asked if I wanted an upstairs unit, I said I didn't. The lady there went in to high gear to make sure we were going to be satisfied and not move to another storage company. She tried hard to find a solution. Even to the point of calling a customer who had reserved a unit on the first floor to see if they would take one on the second floor. It all worked out thanks to her. The other customer said they would take the upstairs unit and I could have the one downstairs. Kudos.
