Been here 15 years! Back when bud and Jackie ran it the place was great. Ran like a small family…read morebusiness. They allowed access 24 hours for certain trades. I'm a general contractor and have a licensed electrical and plumbers on call. There were times we needed access to our expensive equipment we don't leave in our vans in the middle of the night. They stopped that. My rent for a single vehicle went from $80 to $140 in 3 years. My rent on my unit went from $320 to $485 in 3 years. They hire a guy named Perry . Caught him inside my unit one day as I went to use the bathroom they use to have on site. Those are gone!! I said bro what are you doing? He's like I saw your motorcycle and had to come check it out. A few months later I walk inside the office to pay the rent and see a new desk, office chair, filing cabinet, bookshelf. I'm like what?!! This all looks so familiar. Well come to find out it was all mine from one of my units I was renting with bud and Jacky. Somehow the paperwork was lost and there were several units he didn't know the occupants. Rather than emailing everyone or calling he cut all the locks and kept the stuff. I started seeing all my teak wood out on the porch , my bike, my outdoor table and chairs. I called my contract attorney and he explained they would probably win in court . Like tow companies there is such a grey area they can manipulate. Now it seems it's all about being a corporate locations and charging as much as possible. They use to provide a good value but don't any longer. Look out how the paving situation was handled or the broken gate that just sat for months on end. It's really sad. Now I will say Jessica is super kind and has always been cool with me . None of this review represents her and the other girl that's her sidekick. This is just me being honest after being there since 2012.

I'd caution folks to use Self Storage. They are one of the more expensive locations in the areas…read moreand they will look to minimize their liabilities with any given situation based on the contract/policy signed agreement. Customer service is nil. Read carefully what you're signing and understand that they will treat that document as the bible. I wouldn't look to resolve any situation beyond that. We had a couple issues with this location I'll highlight below. 1. The first was the lot markings. On our sign-up they told us to use 31-A. When we could find 31 but not 31-A, the office was closed and when we dialed the emergency number, we didn't get any pick-up. We guessed, fortunately correctly that spot 31 was ours and not 31-A and fortunately, we didn't end up parking in someone else's spot. 2. They didn't pick up when we dialed the emergency number during this time. Fortunately we didn't have any issues with codes that prevented us from accessing our vehicle so that was a plus but still a concern for us. 3. The expense is great. 160ish for a dirt spot. You can get a spot close to Seattle for a few bucks less in very costly real-estate so their numbers are a bit inflated. They tout their security but for the price you pay you could reserve just about anywhere else within a 20 mile radius for less money. The security here is still gate codes and an assailant could pretty easily watch someone punch in a number with a set of binoculars or spotting scope. True security would be a card scanner or enclosed structure and there's areas in Pierce King that have this. 4. The customer service is just, read the policy and follow the policy. If you have any kind of exception, they won't make it or work with you to make it. They will pretend that when you ask for an exception that had you asked more nicely they would have granted it no matter how kindly you ask. When it doesn't work in your favor, they'll simply laugh at you and hang up or accuse you of arguing . At least this was my experience when I asked for an exception to be made to pro-rate our final month's rent. Because we did not provide 20 days written notice, they would not make an exception nor would they even offer proration for the final 6 days of the month if we gave written notice at the time of vacancy. They are well within their right to do this. I wouldn't say they aren't. If you're working with them, just note that your interaction will be based only on the contract you sign. They will work to make you seem unreasonable if you ask for anything beyond that. All the best in your storage hunt folks.

She was helpful, very…read moreinformative about the 1st month free special, showed me a map of the available units and made us feel welcome. "Wow" I thought. I like this service. A few days later when I came to sign the contract, you would have she was a completely different person. Another worker was helping me, but this asst manager kept interrupting the conversation and to the questions I had been asking him. I asked her, "Don't you remember me? I was only here a few days ago." She was exceptionally rude, loud (in front of the poor customer she was helping) and completely disrespectful to me and the employee helping me. I wouldn't come near this place. The employee and I deserve better.

Same Day Help That Made All The Difference…read more In November 2025, I flew from California to Seattle to visit a dear friend who had recently been placed in an assisted living facility due to health and memory issues. My goal was to support her and help furnish her new space with a few meaningful pieces from her former home. I had only two days to accomplish this daunting task. The first day (Sunday) was spent at my friend's former home deciding what to move, followed by a visit to her new residence to determine which items would fit. On Monday, I set out to find movers. After several unsuccessful attempts, I contacted the U-Haul facility on Auburn Way South in Auburn, WA. I spoke with Kenzye, who immediately recognized the urgency of my situation when I explained that my return flight to California was the next morning at 8 a.m.. She referred me to Young Buck Movers, an independent Tacoma-based company, who agreed to take the job the same day. I was amazed and relieved to find movers without any advance notice. All I needed to do was get from my hotel to my friend's house---Young Buck Movers went to U-Haul themselves and completed the necessary paperwork on my behalf. I will be forever grateful to Kenzye for her assistance. I can't say enough about her exceptional customer service. She was friendly, personable, and genuinely committed to helping me when I needed it most. I highly recommend this company for moving or storage assistance. Kathleen Porter Seaside, CA
