    2nd confirmation sent at 7:05pm on 3/10 for a location I did NOT request a unit at ‍

    I went online to reserve a unit for the next day at one location and Public Storage changed my reservation to a unit at a different location without my consent or authorization. So I changed it BACK to the original location I wanted the next day when I realized they moved me, but was charged a full month for the unit they gave me in their own error. I did not even go the unit they assigned me (I didn't even know that location existed). Now I'm jumping through hoops trying to get my money back for the unit that I never asked for or used. I've called all the customer service numbers I could find and left voicemails for the district manager at one location, but my issue has not been resolved. Public Storage customer service is TERRIBLE. No one knows what they are doing and wants to pass the buck to someone else rather than deal with your issue. I will never use Public Storage again! The photos show the confirmation emails for the original reservation I made, then the one they changed it to 5 minutes later because they felt like it.

    READ BEFORE RENTING AT PUBLIC STORAGE 3692 CLAIRMONT RD. Main entrace door is BROKEN - no moving in ground floor! Instead, almost all units require a steep climb up a very narrow set up 15+ stairs. Moving anything become difficult and triple the time and effort. Aside from these access issues, the on-site manager, Danielle, who at first encounter seemed to be professional and nice, became rude and dismissive. Quite simply, after signing the rental agreement, there was little to no service after the sale. After signing the contract, I tried setting up online payments and getting the support needed to make re-occurring payments online. These were met with continued disregard and disrespectful attitudes from Danielle. After Danielle's disrespect, I asked to speak to the owner. This took repeated phone calls, missed appointments with the owner, and general disregard by the owner. We finally met, after three missed appointments and was made to feel as though I was an inconvenience. Being late, cancelling appointments last minute, and not showing up at all is no way to run a business. Pedestrian gate is permanently locked, thus every time you're inside the gate and need to get back to your car or visit the office, you have to exit the property via gated entrance, then go through a traffic light, then re-enter the property to get to your car/main office. Plan on doing this multiple times - all because the pedestrian gate is chain- locked. Why would the property management make it difficult to access the office once you're on-site in your unit? Online payment portal is unnecessarily time-consuming, tedious, and very much not user friendly. Its kind of slick how this Public Storage has everyone write a review BEFORE they actually have been in contract. If you have the misfortune of being swayed by their offers, beware...

    This is the WORST storage facility I have EVER encountered! I put my things in there due to having to relocate due to the CoVid-19 pandemic. I left my items in there for 7 months while I went back home to NJ, and had to come down a few days ago (November 13th) to film so I needed some items from my storage. I got there only to discover that I forgot my key back in NJ, so I would need to break the lock to get in the unit. The girl at the front desk was ZERO help. During the initial 20 minutes of trying to break the block, I heard the sounds of something in my unit scurrying around, so I began to panic and I ran up to the front desk to tell the employee that I heard a mouse or something similar in my unit. She says "Oh it's just a squirrel, it had a baby... we saw it." as if that was ok! She didn't file a report or call pest control or even seem like she planned to do anything about it! I ended up staying there for 4.5 hours fighting with that lock and was unsuccessful getting it off. I went back the 2nd day after that and finally got the lock off only to discover that many of my items have mold on them, there are rodent droppings on my stuff and the insulation from above the unit had been torn apart by the rodent and was ALL over my stuff! I was livid and I left a message on their voicemail after hours about my discovery. When the same girl called back who was at the desk, reiterated what I found in my unit and asked if they planned to do anything about the issue, she told me that she couldn't discuss it with me because I didn't have THEIR insurance (though I do have other insurance). I am paying THEM to store MY items there and they can't discuss anything with me?! And to make matters worse they increased my rent by $20 about 2 months ago! I have to pay MORE to have my things ruined?! These people are the worst! She repeatedly says you can transfer to another unit or vacate the space as if that would remedy the issues I already have with my things being ruined! She was very dismissive. Then I inquired about why my things would have molded because the facility is supposed to be climate-controlled (It's LITERALLY on their website) she says "Oh your unit isn't climate controlled, it says it on your unit information", but it DOES NOT state that anywhere on my account online. And THEN as an additional slap in the face, she tries to upsell me storage items to "protect my belongings". So I pay you each month to store my items and they get ruined and I express that to you, and you do absolutely nothing and act as if I'm bothering you when I'm expressing my irritation with my items being ruined, but you think that I am going to buy things from you to supposedly protect my things??? NEWSFLASH! THEY ARE ALREADY RUINED AND I DON'T EVEN WANT TO PAY THE RENT TO YOU ANYMORE, WHY WOULD I BUY ANYTHING FROM YOU?! They are liars and scammers in my opinion, and they need to be closed down for good! They are taking hundreds of dollars from people each month and not taking precautions to make sure people's items are not ruined under their care. I have never had such terrible service in my life and have never had such a terrible experience at a storage facility ever! I came just to retrieve a few items from my storage and put a few items in there, but now I have to file a claim with my insurance and possibly move my things out with NO help and no where to take them, because this was not planned for and I'm still not back in the area! They should have some accountability in what happens to people's things, maybe they'll actually take precautions to ensure these sorts of things don't happen! They have no responsibility, so they don't clean, they don't call pest control to get rid of the "squirrels", they don't have a real ceiling above the storage units, they have this dated insulation for ceilings that is apparently easily shredded by pests. And they lie about the units being climate controlled. Now I have to prolong my trip because I have to decide where everything is going to go. I don't believe all of these great reviews are real because there is NO way that other people have not had these experiences with terrible service and the disastrous storage conditions. DO NOT store your items here if you care about them, they will not come back the same!

    I was told over the phone the first payment would be $1 when I arrived to Public Storage but that wasn't ture!
