I do not recommend this property. There is no on-site help and you must have your vehicle out on time. My moving truck was locked in overnight. The facility was sketchy and I think there were individuals living there. My storage went up $100 dollars in 6 months. No call just an email saying there is an increase. I don't understand how this is possible when I've paid on time and new customers can move in for half of what I pay. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! They say your rent can go up at anytime and at any rate and they mean it. $300 for a storage unit is robbery!!! There are better storage facilities that are not near as expensive as this!!! read more

I strongly suggest you avoid this location beside Town Brookhaven. We signed the agreement back when there was a person on site daily and things went well. Then they upped the price and went to just a kiosk onsite several years ago. Since then it has gone down hill. Issues: * Multiple significant price hikes (2 in the past 6 months totaling more than $100). * Complete lack building security. Often there is at least one door that does not lock and anyone can just walk in. * Constant homeless issue with people living in the facility. * Constant smell of urine. Don't even try going in the emergency stair well. * Just one elevator that is extremely slow and often you have to enter your code multiple times just to get it to allow you to go to your floor. * Poor air quality especially in the summer. They used to keep it pretty cool in the summer which meant regular air circulation. In the past few years they are not keeping it as cool and several times we have had issues with mold growing on fabrics and cardboard boxes. * A few months ago we were called by a staff person that just happened to be on site that day and did our unit had been cleared out. The said they were standing in front of the unit and nothing was left. They confirmed the unit number. We called the off site office (they actually answered for once) and the confirmation the person work for them. My wife was so upset. We went there to rep it with the police only to find everything was ok. * Calls to the offsite office often go unanswered and rarely will they call you back. We repeatedly call about the homeless issue and the lack of secure exterior doors and One once did we get a call back. They just said they were aware but basically said they were working on it (but nothing was really done other than temporarily fixing the door. They get away with all this because it is such a pain to move all your stuff. But my wife and I have had enough. We are moving down the street. Not kidding, we got a unit that is double the size and even after the initial 3 month intro rate we will be paying $125 less/month. They have three working elevators, onsite staff, good air conditioning and given its location it is probably less likely to have a homeless issue. Just one additional note. Today we were in the process of moving our stuff out. In just one day here is what we saw: * One side door on the lower first floor (which I believe is just an emergency exit) was wide open. * the main door on the second floor does not lock shut. * There was definitely one homeless person within the fence who walked around the corner of the building and then past us and used a code to exit. He smelled awful. We later saw him sitting on some stairs at Town Brookhaven. There were two other people we also suspected were homeless as they walked out of the wide open door as we were driving past it. They also walked out the main gate after entering a code. * On the 3rd floor where our unit was, the smell of urine was awful. read more

To follow up on my review of July 15, I terminated my rental of the storage unit on July 16 by giving Pubic Storage notice on their web site. I received notice of the termination (and pathetic "offer" to discount my rent for six months if I would stay. Obviously no way in H!ll I was going to continue renting from this sh*t hole. Today I received notice from American Express my card was being charged for August rent. Called to dispute the charge with Amex and Pubic Storage. The virtual set up was not a good experience. Also for myself being a first time user at this site it was very dirty and messy. When using the code for the elevator was confusing. The account was set up building 1 2nd floor. First is building A or B and I am on the 3rd floor according to the elevator. This was a big inconvenience because I had to pay for additional 1 hour to the movers. I would not recommend this location to no one. I am thinking about moving to another location. read more

I've called to speak with the property manager at the Brookhaven location never received a response left several messages contacted customer service was told would be resolved in 48 hours. It's been two months still getting charged and never been allowed access into the gate. Horrible service. Would not use without dealing with an actual person. read more

This place is the worst of the worst. For $392/month, one would expect everything to work properly and the appearance to be aesthetically pleasing. The same trash in these photos has been here since the beginning of the month. The lights don't work properly once you enter the facility. The light doesn't even come on until you have made it all the way to the end of the hallway. I just needed a storage unit at a location in between my old apartment and the place I was moving to for a few months. I made a reservation through the Public Storage website; good online rate too: first floor 5'x5' space for $33 per month after the first $1 month. When I get to the office at the scheduled date (Mar 1st), Toya first tells me no spaces that size were available, then tells me one space was available on the third floor. Like my reservation never happened. Then tells me the monthly rate is $40 a month...neither her nor her manager Pat would honor what was confirmed to me from the company before. I tell them "here it's right on this email" and they're like "no it's okay we believe you". Just a whole funny act on their end...Pat gives me the email contact to the District Manager. I email him my dispute but never heard back from him. So I decided to close out and move everything out at the end of March, before the next month got charged. As inconvenient as that was (had to rent 2 U-haul trucks for this whole process), it was not worth staying for a company that cannot nor will not keep their facts straight. They left a bad enough taste in my mouth that will make me not go with this company again. read more

The lights in my unit don't work. the front door does not open. I have to go around the building to the top level to enter and make my way down to my unit. What makes this company in general so bad is the way they do business. You can only get it month to month, so they gave me a lower rate and 4 months later they raised it by $60. No one cares or want to make sure that the clients are taken care of. read more

A few things that has turned me off totally: -The entry gate keypad has never worked for me since the first day I leased the unit in October. Each visit I have to go into the office to ask the associate to open the gate. Last month I had a death in the family and had to fly out of town the next morning, I could not get into my unit because the gate keypad did not work and the office was closed. I asked to communicate this to the owner and was told by the manager that she was the owner. -The first week I leased my space I noticed the entire floor smelled like urine and it remained for 2 weeks until I complained about it twice. Being that I have work related clothing in storage the odor was a big concern and I have had to remove my garments. -Not enough dollys or hand trucks to go around, I had to bring my own when I moved in I leased this unit because it was in Brookhaven and I expected better, but the quality of the facility is one that you would expect from a run down neighborhood. MESSAGE TO THE CORPORATE OWNERS: PLEASE REPAIR THE ENTRY KEYPAD SO YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last day of my things living here are about over. Going through my stuff is always a happy and sad experience and I was not sure what was in there since I have not seen them in about a year. Memories of an Ex and the stuff she left behind abound. Makes me wonder, saddens me really, how something so great could have ended so bad. We are both to blame for its demise, it always takes two to tango ya know, but that is a different story for a different day. As far a the facility goes its good and bad. Climate controlled and very secure. The Office staff is always super nice, especially Mordina, She would allways call me to make sure I did not get a late fee. Her boss on the other hand, total jerk!! When I mean very secure, I mean its a pain cause you have 1000 digit code you have to use to get in to the gate, into the building, into the elevator, and out. So you have to punch it in like 10,000 times. Also the dang interior lights will will not stay on for more that 5 min, not great when you are sifting through "memories". I am sure there are better placees and worse so it is just ok. I am just glad to be reunited with my stuff, mostly my vinyl records, oh how I have missed you so. If you have the terrible misfortune of renting a storage unit at Public Storage, 4300 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta GA 30319, keep this information handy in case you need it. This is a self-service property. If your gate code does not work (like mine didn't work), don't waste your time calling the phone number on your rental agreement. The voice greeting you will hear says, "we will return your call." That is a lie. The greeting will say, "we care about your business." That is a lie. I tried to get a call back 6 times with no success. Instead, when you are stuck at the gate with your movers and moving truck, unable to get in, call Public Storage at 800-567-0759. Press option 1 for sales. (If you choose an option for existing renters you will get long hold times, get transferred and get disconnected). Tell the customer service representative "my gate code does not work and I want a temporary access code." Be ready with your unit number, your non-working access code and the last 4 digits of your driver's license number. This process will take 10-15 minutes. If you get transferred, placed on hold or disconnected (which is likely), start over again. Your temporary access code will work until 6pm that day. I had to go through this process every time I visited my storage unit. If Public Storage tells you to call the "buddy property" in Marietta to get help, say NO. Insist on getting a temporary access code. Public Storage at 4300 Peachtree Road NE will inform you that your unit will have a padlock inside. This is a lie. Bring your own padlock and tell customer service (same number above) you want to be reimbursed for the $20 padlock fee. Also, your storage unit will be dirty with trash. Bring your own broom to clean it before you store your stuff. The so-called "manager" of this storage facility is a Public Storage employee. This person should be fired. read more

The good news is that the location is convenient. The bad news: (i) the front gate pad does not have the normal audible sound when you enter the digits of the security code, so you will have no idea whether the pad is working or not, (ii) the staffing at the front desk is extremely inconsistent; I cannot count the number of times that the front door says "on the property" but of course the manager is nowhere to be found; and (iii) although there are two freight elevators, one of them is usually out of order. read more

This place has really gone downhill over the past few years. When I originally got a unit there, it was managed by Pat. She was a gem. Now there's someone else who couldn't give a hoot about the place or customer service. The phone just rings and rings and left messages never get returned. When I questioned her about this, she said the calls might have come outside of office hours (they didn't) or when she was away showing/cleaning units (she wasn't) and when I asked for support on the keypad entry, she said I had to come in. When I came in during business hours, she wasn't there. Then she said I should call first to see if anyone is in the office. REALLY??? So "office hours" is just a suggestive tease??? There are worse things about this place but I'd just be repeating what's in the other messages. (You should read all of them to get the full story and note the date on those five-star ratings. Very telling...). And don't even think you'll get any better service going to there--get this-- WE CARE corporate customer service number! What a joke! There are better places nearby for less money. Dont use this service unless you want your time wasted. They have an online form that allows you to reserve a storage unit. its easy to use you get a text with you storage unit is ready & keycodes are sent. I got a unit showed up my door could not be locked the mechanism that closes the unit was not working. no one was in the office called support & they sent an email to the property manager. next day I called the facility several times but got no answer. called support to see if they could give me another unit they were not able to help. showed up to try resolve this in person & no one was at the office. The third day I got frustrated asked for my account to be closed support staff said they closed it but it was still open. I decided to rent from another facility hoping it would be better. same process showed up at my unit was provided a code to enter the storage facility when I got to the entrance next to my unit the code provided was (1-9) the door pinpad only had keys for (1-5). office was closed since I made it after 6pm called support & they said they cannot help but ill send an email to the project manager. next day I got in contact with the owner & got a combination for the door. the unit was nice had no problems. just took 4 days, 6 calls to support & driving to the unit 3 times. Also I still have a second unit ive made 2 attempts so far to close my first account & get refunded will update this post if I can get a refund read more

The units are convenient in location. That is the only positive that comes to me. Here are the negatives, and they are many: 1. Spaces are overpriced, billing is electronic and sent 3 weeks prior to the due date with no reminder...a setup I believe that is intentional so renters forget to pay, and if you do... 2. The late fee, for being 1 day late, is about 20%, and they call you that very day. My credit score is 849 and yet I forgot once to pay this bill by the due date. No forgiveness, just a whopping late fee and manger phone calls. (Now tell me again why they can't call you a couple days prior, if they can call you the day after?!) 3. Renters are required to purchase insurance, which is really just another way to charge more for the space rented. It is outrageous, but required...no exceptions. And if you read the fine print, it would be very difficult to use the insurance and it is lowball coverage at best. 4. The keypad processes very slowly and often the code has to be entered more than once for the gate to actually open. And you have to use the code again to leave. Why? 5. I just received email notice they are raising the rental (and late fees). I calculated it and it is a 20%+ increase!! No one I know got a raise even near that these last few years. In summary, look elsewhere, as I am now doing prior to the effectiveness of the rate increase. There has to be a more affordable and customer-friendly option somewhere in the Atlanta area. read more

Signed up online. First month free ( $1 ) but there is a $23 dollar admin fee. So not free and NOT $1. Okay... I pick out the 10 x 10 unit. Better price than competitors and although NOT the closest, I went with them based on what I thought was "transparent" info and a good value. I show up... add $11 insurance despite what was stated online. Employee states that many customers chew them out as a result of the misrepresentation. Still, I go with the flow. Must buy lock for 20 bucks. Must use a certain kind and no other. I observed many different locks on various units. (Must be grandfathered in I suppose). I look at the unit. I assumed that the unit was the 10 x 10 as specified. I have a 10 ft piece of furniture that should fit all sides right? Nope. Unit is 10 x 9'2" inches...maybe 3 inches. Customer service states, "In the contract we state that units may vary in size". Oh! The fine print makes it okay to falsify your online information I suppose. You can talk to the district manager if you want. Left message. No response as of yet. Chantilly location is old, but it can work. Online measurements are NOT reliable so check. Out of pocket is more than what you may think so be prepared. I gave them one star because they KNOW this exist with the property but do NOT place accurate info online and subject their employees to various temperaments of clients. To have a job and you know what the issues are that cause you to get chewed out?? NOT a good place to work, especially when they continue to misrepresent themselves in various ways. read more

Needed a small storage unit to store some of our personal items, booked online at this location. "Curb appeal" of this facility is pretty grim. Office is small and unwelcoming. Door to the units (beyond the security gate) looks as if it had been opened with a crowbar (bent in the middle) and never repaired. Only one cart ("that's all we have, are waiting for more, if you need one and it's in use you just need to wait.") and inside the building is grimy. Awful Awful Awful!!! We had reserved a unit online and told them we would be by Saturday morning to do the paperwork. We arrive Saturday morning around 11:15am and NO ONE IS THERE. So we call and ring the door bell, no answer on either. We wait about 15-20 minutes and finally see someone coming in as we are leaving, with a grocery bag. No sign on the door or anything indicating they are not open. So at that point, we decide to leave and use a different storage provider. Around 3pm, someone calls from this place to ask if we are still coming by to rent the unit. My wife tells them that we tried but no-one was there, when the lady proceeds to hang up on her. I will never do business with these people EVER!!! read more

Public Storage uses a teaser renting rate; I started out a year ago with a rate of $46 plus the mandatory insurance of $12. Now I'm paying $72 per month. I have used these types of facilities before and I never was required to purchase insurance. This is something that should have been indicated at the time I made my initial reservation. Also, to raise the rate within the first year or even a longer term is deceptive. They know that most customers would be reluctant to move their property because of a rental increase due to the inconvenience and cost of moving to a new facility. Also, the dollies used to move one's property are always in short supply and were very defective and difficult to use. I don't think I will ever store any property at PS again. read more

The office staff is horrible when trying to get them to return a phone call or answer question. I'm moving out this month and asked for a prorate amount but they don't after the 6th and will not refund money if you move out before the end of the month. I find that morally wrong when they will rerent. I tried calling the area manager a couple of times and no answer and don't waste your time calling corporate because they are more useless than these people. Coropate will not return phone calls either and when you talk to the customer service personnel finally they sound very unsure of what is going on. I prefer to give my money to a company that will return a phone call and also do the right thing. Just beware when renting here and using this company. read more

Public Storage raised my rent in 5 months for 318.00 to 360.00, for a 10x20 unit storage. I was very unhappy with this. So Im moving down the road to pay 250.00 per month for a 10x25 storage Unit. This companny only wants to charge more money for their storage unit. read more
