My friends have been raving about the appetizers at Pub W for awhile now and I thought they were over hyping it. I was wrong. I'm not typically a fan of hush puppies, but the squashpuppies here were amazing! It comes with delicious honey butter and jalapeno jam on the side. I definitely recommend the drunken tuna ceviche as well. For my entree, I ordered parmesan baked fish with high expectations, and I was left a little disappointed. The fish was very very bland. Tartar sauce and lemons couldn't even help. My friend let me try some of her ahi tuna salad, and it was full of flavor. I wish I ordered that instead. read more

We're in town for the game and needed to find a place for a quick meal and a cold beer. Pub W fit that bill pretty well. The pigs in a blanket appetizer was tasty, served with a nice cheese dip. I had a quinoa bowl with chicken. Well seasoned and surprisingly filling. D had the Mama's Chicken Casserole. He enjoyed it a whole lot. A nice jalapeño touch. Go for a signature cocktail. We love Pub Dub. Excellent selection of beer - lots of local options & we often split a flight - also great wine and cocktails. The service is top notch, and the quality of the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. Tonight I ordered soup and salad (corn chowder & orchard w/ balsamic), and hubs ordered chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes & squash puppies. Went to have dinner with my mother around 5:40pm after having been recommended the fish and chips. We were immediately sat but in a back room with what was probably a company holiday party that had already been there awhile. That group was obnoxiously loud and we couldn't hear ourselves think so we asked to be moved and we were quickly moved to another section. Thankfully our server, I'm sorry I forgot to get her name, was able to still take care of us and we were happily able to enjoy the rest of our meal. They had a good selection of local beers on draft which was a major plus. The pigs in a blanket appetizer was adorable and delicious. The fish and chips were absolutely worthy of the anticipation. My mother had to tell the server how good it was and the server engaged in pleasant conversation about seafood in Oklahoma, well beyond just the friendly 'thank you' you would get from most. I've been to Pub W for lunch, dinner, and just to watch a game. It's a large joint, comfortable with plenty of seating. Plenty of parking as well. They have a well thought out beer list. It's not enormous, but the variety is there, they've got some brews that aren't as common, and they usually have a few seasonal selections. If you are a beer drinker, you're sure to find something that suits you. As far as appetizers go, I've gone with the hot wings and the famous pretzels with BLVD cheese sauce. I am not a huge pretzel guy, but these things are pretty good. The cheese sauce is fantastic, it's tangy, and you definitely get a taste of the beer in the sauce. You can add it to your meal for a buck, which I recommend if you get something with fries. But, as good as the pretzels are, the wings are my favorite. They are all large, very well sauced, and prepared perfectly. There are no duds when you order wings at Pub W. I am going to get several orders to go next time I have people over to watch a game. The hot could be a little hotter for me, but that is nitpicking. These are some large and juicy wings, the way they should be. I've had two burgers: the Theta and the Jalapeno Bacon Burger. I always order my burgers medium, and once at Pub W it was cooked perfectly. The other time, it was cooked all the way through. I understand that places tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to the doneness of the meat, but I wish they wouldn't ask if they are just going to ignore your requested temperature. Of the two burgers, I preferred the jalapeno burger. There are a lot of jalapeno slivers, and the spicy aioli is fantastic. I love a good Theta, but the pretzel bun was too thick for me. It overpowered the burger. I think this would be better served on a regular bun. I've ordered both the sweet potato fries and regular French fries. I like both. The sweet potato fries are pretty standard. The regular fries have what appears to be a beer batter, so you get a nice crunch. An order of either is good size and represents a good value. Pub W has a great atmosphere, and the food is a step up from your traditional "bar food." Hopefully this place has a long life in Brookhaven Village. [500th Review. You see this place from the outside and you have heard of the brand then you very likely would give them a 4 or 5. I've ate at other Pub W's and had a much better experience! Here are my ratings and reason for them. Cleanliness/decor(3) decor was slightly modern, cleanliness appeared to be great until I looked up and saw the ceiling fan that was going and the cord hanging from the light both caked in dust. This sort of made me loose my appetite. It's a good thing I had already eaten. Professionalism(5)The establishment was handled and well maintained Customer service(2.5) we went the whole time though drinks, appetizers and even sat 5 min or more before getting our silverware, the manager apologizes and the waitress says out loud in a sarcastic tone to him "thanks to the hostess" We had 13 people and she messed up and short changed all the people who paid with cash, even though she took each order on its own separate clip board and did it two feet from our table. She had mixed up cash and change laying all out by the register. We brought it to her attention and her response was "yea it's hard to keep up with this many people" I'm thinking maybe she should find a new job if she cannot handle change and everyone of her mistakes she has to blame on someone else. Price for food quality(3) this was fair but a little overpriced for lunch. Taste of food(3.5) it was ok, I was told my tacos had shredded chicken but they actually had cubes chicken which I do not like so I did not finish them. This was my first time here for brunch. The music was FIRE. Great brunch music played on the overhead speaker. They took a little while on our food, but they did comp our appetizers. The mimosas are a good deal - $7/carafe and it's a pretty good size. My food was great, although the eggs were a bit runny. My eggs were scrambled (the only way eggs should be ordered). First let me start off with safety. As we walked in staff were cleaning the door knobs, everyone wore masks and counters were clean, wiped down and clear of clutter. We opened with three specialty cocktails which were all fantastic. Our appetizers choices were the pretzels, Idaho nachos and the squash hush puppies. For entrees we had the chupacabra sandwich, fried chicken and the fisherman's platter. We enjoyed all of them and had leftovers to take home. One of the best places in town to eat. The menu is varied with updated versions of good, comfort food and creative salads. A lot of choices for appetizers. They have outdoor patio seats on the east side of the restaurant, booths and tables inside. There us a U shaped bar. My favorite for lunch is the Farm Fresh Chicken Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette dressing, served with crispy (but not hard) baguette slices. We also like the Avocado Toast. Go there often with girl friends for lunch. They have a great breakfast menu also. My husband and I eat dinner there often and he always gets the Fish and Chips. The good news is that this place got a facelift when it changed names. The bad news is that the quality of the bbq remains at an all time low. The bbq sauce from head country is the best thing here. We tried the brisket and they don't chop it. It was incredibly dry and lacked any kind of smoky flavor. Do they even have a smoker on site? When it was brought up to the server, she responded that the menu was outdated and nothing was done to correct the mistake, which is unacceptable. I've been here twice now and both times were yummy! They have mimosas you can buy by the carafe, which is really nice. I've also tried the watermelon fresca and strawberry fields. I loved the watermelon fresca! It was so light and refreshing, but I didn't feel the alcohol at all. The strawberry fields was sweet and with a hint of basil. Yum! The Chupacabra burger is amazing and I got it with a side of the poblano corn soup. The soup was so good! I wish I got a bowl of it or something. My husband and I tried Pub W for the first time today. I have to say, we were very disappointed. The food was OK. But it was nothing special and WAY OVERPRICED for what we got. I had seen the menu on the website and had something picked out,, but the menu was very abbreviated when we got one. What I wanted to order wasnt on there. I asked the server how big were the burger patties - 1/4, 1/3 or 1/2 lb. She didn't know. We both ordered the avocado burger with fries. I ordered sweet potato fries. After touring OU with our high school-age son, my wife and I were searching for a place where we could get some simple seafood since we are Catholic and it was a Friday in Lent. Saw Fish and Chips on the menu during a quick mobile search and decided on Pub W. My heart sank a little when we discovered it was in a busy shopping center but we pushed on. It proved to be a wise decision. It was Raw Oyster Friday so I had six on the half shell and they were scrumptious! We had one order of fish and chips, one order of spicy shrimp tacos and a veggie pizza. I'll never know if we just happened in at the right moment but all three dishes were knocked out of the park! Flavourful hot well seasoned, fresh and simply delicious! Service was prompt efficient courteous and professional. Refills on drinks showed up without asking. All in all, this was just the kind of experience I keep my fingers crossed for every time I go out to eat. Next time I'm in Norman you bet I'll make it a point to visit Pub W! read more
