My wife had also ordered a another appetizer but it didn't come with the rest of the food and when we asked after five minutes they said they had to remake it. Food was good. I'm confused by the 3% living wage surcharge that was added to my bill. When I asked, I was handed a card, I'm still confused. I understand what the money is for, but why not just increase the cost of everything by 3%? I'm sure there are many thoughts one way or the other, but what irked me, and I will probably not go back to Pub Republic now, is the fact they should tell customers about the practice up front.. Visited with a friend for Saturday lunch around 1:30. They were shot half full, plenty of staff. However, pretty disorganized staff, where we were left waiting quite a bit. And other tables seemed to be quiet frustrated. Then at the end, we got the wrong check. As for the food, the menu is super creative. We easily could have ordered 3/4s of the dishes. Ordered three, two of the dishes were bland. One was a burger that wasn't even a seasoned and was cold when we got it. Recommendation: Get the potato nachos if you want tasty!! I enjoyed the fried chicken tacos, which is topped with their chipotle sour cream, one of my favorite nacho or taco toppers here. First time here and we loved it. The food was amazing, u unfortunately forgot to take s picture of our full meal but I did get our appetizers. First of all the food, I got a sandwich and it was delicious. My husband got the pulled pork nachos, let me tell you AMAZING. I am always amazed when I walk into a restaurant and see some things. Today I watched the bus person simply wipe scraps of food and smears of Meat and Fish that were on the table onto the bench, the chairs and floor. I talked to the manager, he did not care. When we finally got settled after 20 minutes of waiting in a restaurant that was just about empty, the waiter brought us our drinks, he put all five fingers around the top of each glass where we drink. I could smell his cologne as I was drinking my beer. Unacceptable. And then when the $6 french fries came it was barely a tiny handful compared to the large saucer that I had gotten many times before. The waiter did apologize and brought another small serving. We had delicious Father's Day brunch. This was during the re-opening stage of Covid-19, and we were comfortable going out to eat. If we were worried about Covid we would not have gone out to eat. But for those wondering, all staff was wearing masks and tables were spaced out comfortably. They seemed to have taken regulations seriously and implemented them well. Our server Audrey was super cool and sweet. She made sure our mimosas had just a touch of OJ per our request (lol) and the bloodys were super good. The bloody mix tasted house-made! We really enjoyed our lunch here. Everything on the menu looked so delicious, we had difficulty choosing. For a starter we got the salmon crostini, it was very flavorful and fresh. This is one of my favorite places to go when I'm in Petaluma. For a couple years it's been close to work making it the go-to lunch place. The staff are always really nice. My favorite is the grass fed burger (no bun) and the sweet potato fries are a must (honestly, they're the best I've had anywhere)! Occasionally I'll get a Caesar salad or a mocha or latte. You really can't go wrong with whatever you order here. There's an option to sit outside on the patio if the weather is great. The only con is sometimes, especially during lunch time, the parking is extremely limited. There's a Starbucks and few other stores/food places within the same section which can make it difficult to find a spot. read more

I have been going to Pub Republic for the past 5 years, and their quality in food has deteriorated to the point where I will no longer eat at this restaurant. In a town where there are so many eateries of high quality why would I continue my patronage at a sub par restaurant. Today I placed an order for delivery, and the kitchen did not add the chicken to the salad ordered. I naturally called and asked for the chicken, and drove to pick it up. They didn't offer anything for my troubles, and sent me on my way with the chicken (a tiny amount for 5$ extra cost). Upon returning home I opened the chicken and the salad and took a bite. I immediately noticed sub par greens that we're old and rotting, and chicken that was almost as rubbery as a literal rubber chicken. When paying such high prices for food, I expect the ingredients to be quality ones. Today I was served inedible chicken and salad for over 20$. I will not be returning to Pub Republic, and will take my money to one of the many other restaurants in Petaluma. read more

Ever been to one of those places you just can't wait to tell people about? This is that type of place. Plenty of parking and from the minute you walk in the door, you just know it's going to be a good experience. It's a mix between upscale bistro and neighborhood hangout. Comfortable, nicely decorated, yet not overdone. The type of place you are comfortable coming to after work or bringing out of town guests. Our server Ben took extra time when we explained it was our first visit to go over just enough of the menu as to not overwhelm and then gave us extra time to make up our minds without being bothersome. A recommendation for a hazy beer was exactly what I was looking for. She chose a red Zinfandel from an ample list. We tried both of the daily soup options and could have stopped right there, but glad we didn't. Both were amazing. She ordered a specialty burger that came with Cowgirl creamery cheese and an onion glaze that was outstanding, while I chose to have the beet and goat cheese salad. The Burger was cooked perfectly and the salad was the perfect portion for an entree. We would order both again however the menu is extensive so can't wait to try other options. I got the Hot & Sour Mushroom Soup...it changes so you may not be able to order it again. I tend to stick to the half salad with an added protein, it seems to be the perfect portion for lunch. They have great burgers, a very nice size, I always have leftovers and the sandwiches are amazing. If you're into beer, this is the place for you. They have a great deal in their craft beer sample flight. Four 5oz. Pours for 7$, you can't go wrong. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. It does get busy for happy hour, most likely due to the location. It's very close to a lot of big business warehouses, but don't let that stop you! The deals are great, a bottle of Lagunitas Little Sumpin' for 3$, probably the cheapest around for good quality beer. Remember that flight I told you about?...4$ for HH. Money! The food on the HH menu is equally as awesome. Fries, sliders, tacos, and calamari just to name a few options. Lastly, they have Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard on the table. Besides having the mac n' cheese for a starter, I tried their Guinness beef shepherd pie. It was absolutely a hit. I would never have thought to put Brussels sprouts along with carrots and peas inside this dish but they worked so well I'm going to try it in my own home version. For dessert, I went for their salted caramel gelato (which is enough for two!). All in all, what a great restaurant that's almost like a hidden jewel in this shopping center off of Lakeville Highway. We came here Friday around 1 PM. Parking was horrible. They have a plenty of options for beer and wine. Our waitress did a job she checked on us every 10 mins.
