I attended the pub crawl in Norfolk, VA ahead of Saint Patrick's Day 2026. We began at the Veil Brewery and got two free drink tickets with our Pub Crawl reservation. This, in my opinion, made the ticket price worth it. The organizers had wrist bands and green beads to add to the festive spirit. I thought that the discounts at the other three venues could have been better, especially for the thirstier participants, but I got what I wanted for my afternoon on the town. read more

SCAM. Save your money for drinks at a bar you like. I purchase 4 tickets for NYE for $25 each for a pub crawl on King Street - Old Town. Only the check-in bar was initially advertised, where you pick up your map. BIG LESSON - If the map or the venues aren't advertised initially, save your money! At the kick-off bar, Alexandria Bier Garten, we were checked in by word of mouth; didn't even ask to see our tickets. We were under the impression that they were just letting people in. The wrist band we received had a barcode for the map: -We went to Don Tacos Tequila Bar and had the drink specials there. They were checking people's wrist bands, and there was a line. -We did NOT go to T.J. Stone's; a 17-minute walk and nearly a mile away. -Rocket Grill is one of the worst dive bars in Alexandria, and we had no interest in visiting. -We went to Casa Tequila, also quite a long walk but unlike T.J. Stone's it is still within the King Street district. We knew the drink specials ended at 9, but we didn't think the bar would be already closed at 10:30 when we arrived! Other than Don Tacos and Alexandria Bier Garten, these bars are spaced much too far apart. Also, two of the bars, Rocket Grill and Casa Tequila, were of exceptionally low quality. Only 5 bars, and I'm not sure why it was even necessary to purchase tickets!! The only thing Rocket Grill had on offer was karaoke (not at all an interest for us), and Alexandria Bier Garten had NO drink specials, just a champagne flute close to midnight. We did not need to spend $25 per person for one flute of really bad, cheap champagne. Total rip off. The organizers promised to voucher for another event, but haven't heard back from them. read more

SCAM!!!! We did the San Jose "pub crawl" (if you could even call it that). This was a complete waste of $45. There were three bars that were included and none of them had a cover. The deals on the drinks were sparse and basically deals on beers. The only thing that we got was a free glass of champagne at the after party (mind you the after party was open to anyone at the restaurant). There was promise of photographers and videographers (lie), live DJs (only one of the three had a DJ and a Spotify playlist would have been better), social media features (you guessed it - lie), and staff (only at the first one for three hours and then was never been seen again). We got our wristband no problem, but every bar we visited never checked our wristbands and I found out that cover was free already. One bar on our list tried charging us to get in but we had to argue for 10 minutes about which bar crawl we purchased since there were two going on that night. We then asked about the free drinks, and was told that it's against the law in Utah to provide free drinks. My significant other and I attended the 4th of July pub crawl in Nashville and quickly learned that this ora gozarían is a complete scam. We were promised access to multiple bars in the Gulch area including drink specials at reduced prices, and not only was this not the case but the bars themselves weren't even aware that an event was supposed to be taking place. The girls who checked our confirmation tickets were really helpful in answering all the questions our group had about the pubcrawl. We stayed at each bar for about 45 minutes to an hour. My girlfriend set up this barcrawl for a large crowd of us, this past weekend for St. Patrick's Day. I have never done one so, I was psyched about attending. She basically footed the bill for everyone and paid, not only the ticket price for nine people, but also the $55 service charge (we were splitting it evenly, so it came to about $11/pp). We picked up the wristbands in the West Village at Mach 8. The people there were nice. They gave us our bands and a map that showed all of the participating bars in each neighborhood as well as the specials they offered. We decided to try our luck in West Village first and that's where our nightmare began. First we went to Wicked Willy's and their specials were supposed to begin at 11AM. We got there around noon and when we walked in, it was empty, there was a guy cleaning and he told us that we would have to wait until 1PM to get any specials because the bartender was late. The place looked closed down. I don't even know why the doors were open. Next, we walked over to Red Lion and got there at 12:20PM (believe me, the times are very important). There were a few patrons there but some lady, who didn't even work there, came to us and told us that they would not honor the pubcrawl specials until after the Rugby game was over and that we would have to return after 2 PM in order to get any specials, despite the fact that the establishment was listed on the map as having their special start at noon. She was a patron and the bartender sent her over to tell us that if we wanted to enter at that time, we would all have to pay a $20 cover. When we tried to speak to the bartender, he basically just motioned a no and refused to speak to us. The staff were laughing and we basically felt like we were taken for fools. On our way to Blue Haven we called Christina, the representative with Pubcrawls.com and after explaining to her the treatment we had received, she put us on hold while she called the first two places and spoke to their management. After a few moments, she returned but did not understand why they were not honoring the specials. She suggested we try Blue Haven but by then, we had already arrived and were, again, met with employees who were unaware that their business was even participating in the bar crawl for which we paid. Christina was still on the line and we had her speak to the lady at Blue Haven, who again, refused to honor the specials we were to have received and at that point, we got fed up and asked for compensation, to which Christina informed us to write an e-mail to the company to begin the process of receiving a refund. We decided to go elsewhere and try a different neighborhood so that the day would not be a total loss. We intended upon remaining in one neighborhood and taking advantage of the specials at all the business within walking distance but now, we were forced to take two cabs (there were nine of us) to a completely different neighborhood, hoping we would not be met with the same issues. We headed to Chelsea and checked out Cafe 31. The vibe here was a complete 180. The staff was extremely welcoming and were aware of and honored all of the specials that were listed on the map that we were given by the Pubcrawl company. The bartenders were great and we had a blast there. Valentina welcomed us at the bar and kept the drinks flowing. A few pubcrawl groups showed up and no one had any problems. We ended up having to take two more cabs, uptown to Midtown West and headed to 123 Burger Shot. We sat at a reserved table but they also were not aware of the pubcrawl specials. We had to show them our map and the manager had to be called but in the end, they wound up honoring what was listed. We walked around the corner to Posh and again, were met with a bar that was unaware of any pubcrawl specials taking place that day. They only thing they could offer was what was available to anyone who was a patron; $3 beers and $4 well drinks. At this point, we were all thinking that we wasted money if we could have gotten access to the specials without having to buy tickets. The next spot we hit up was Bamboo 52 and we really only went there for the green beer. We took another two taxis to the Midtown East and tried BarKogi, another business from the map. Yet again, we were told they had no specials and were only participating on Tuesday, the actual St. Patrick's date. By this time, we were through. Way past over it. We hopped in to the Pig n Whistle and ended our night. You're better off, going to a neighborhood with a lot of bars in the vicinity, within walking distance and use trial and error to find the ones that don't charge a cover. They will most likely have specials anyway. You would think that buy purchasing a wristband, you're entitled to some sort of exclusive deal but, in fact, it ends up just being shoddy event planning on the part of Pubcrawls.com and you're out money and what should have been a fun experience. read more

So we went up to the guy who checked us in and said if the bars were not accepting the free drink tickets to give the bar a bad review on Yelp, he was clearly a part of the scam. We went to the next bar listed and they said they were not even a part of the pub crawl and that they had never been contacted by the company. Well on to the 3rd bar listed. They also said they were not a part of the pub crawl, we did not even go to the 4th bar listed as we had met others who had already tried and they were not accepting the free drink tickets or anything either. I'm writing to review the Halloween Pub Crawl in Boston. The company regularly hosts holiday pub crawls, and my friends and I thought it would be fun to try the Halloween crawl this weekend. I contacted the company through the website to find out more information on the bars on the list, and received a nice email from Dmitry with a discount code for purchasing tickets! We thought we were getting a deal when we signed up. My friends and I showed up at the check in bar at about 8:00. The bar where we were supposed to check in was closed, so we were directed to another bar across the street. After waiting in line there, we got in, and walked to the back to check in with the pub crawl staff. The girls checking confirmation tickets were unprofessional and looked as though we were offending them when they had to put down their phones to talk with us. We got our bracelets and headed to the bar. The pub crawl is advertised as spanning from 3 pm to 12:30 am, and the email I received listed 16 bars as participating. What they don't tell you at the time of purchasing the tickets, however, is that many of the bars only offer "free" admittance from 3-7 pm. In other words, regardless of whether you're on the pub crawl or not, you have to pay a cover charge to get into the bars if you show up after 7 pm. Many of the advertised bars were NOT open the night of the crawl, and my wristband that proved I was a participant on the pub crawl did absolutely nothing. Every bar we tried to enter after leaving the first bar told us the pub crawl was over, and that we would have to pay to enter. The first bar we entered didn't have a cover (as we got there at only 8 pm), and didn't offer any drink specials for participants. Bottom line? We payed money to get into a bar that was free, and then didn't get any other benefits of being a part of the organized crawl. I would not recommend using this company in the future. If you want to go on a bar crawl in Boston, find bars that you're interested in going to, and set up a map yourself- you'll have a better time, and save yourself the unnecessary fee that pubcrawls.com charges! read more

Most of the bars they advertised didn't even know they were a part of this crawl and therefore had no drink discounts. Even Their "private areas" didn't fulfill the prices they said they were going to. Essentially we paid a good amount of money to get ripped off!
