Having them come to…read moremy house was a huge benefit, as all of the classes offered in my area are only on the weekends. The 16 hours class was spread over 2 days. Jerome and his training partner were VERY knowledgable of the complicated laws surrounding Illinois' concealed carry law. Jerome takes his training responsibility very seriously and I finished the class with full understanding of the responsibility I now have. I highly recommend Standard Force to anyone needing a firearm instructor that will work with your busy schedule.

In two days we covered responsible firearm use, home defense planning, conflict avoidance, situational awareness, and more. Gary will not let you leave his class without knowing how to properly handle a firearm. You'll gain a thorough understanding of Illinois firearm laws and confidence to continue to improve your skills at the range. Before heading to the range for the shooting portion of the class, Gary and Joe will help each student practice proper shooting stance and correct any issues with sight picture. You will be responsible for range fee, ammunition, and fingerprints in addition to course fee.

Knowing nothing about conceal and carry steps, but recently having an interest, I ran across a…read moregreat Groupon deal and signed up for the 16-hour course. It was a little difficult to figure out how to use the Groupon on the website, but calling the agency a couple of times helped me resolve the issue. I registered for the two-day course online and the first day I arrived about 5 minutes before the session started. Larry, the first instructor, was kind to wait almost 20 minutes for everyone to arrive - but I would have preferred to start the class on time. The second instructor, Bill arrived later and brought all of the energy and entertainment. The instructors seemed to complement each other and both were very positive, patient and knowledgeable. My favorite part of day 1 was the simulation activity. I would have preferred fewer and shorter breaks to allow more time for additional simulation time. Day 2 started at the Eagle Sports Range to qualify for the Concealed Carry License (CCL). While the Groupon for the course was a great deal (I paid $18), they make up the low price of the class by having a long laundry list of potential expenses (e.g., renting firearm equipment, CCL application assistance, fingerprinting, etc.). Although they send an email prior to class with the list of expenses, it would be more helpful if the itemized costs were listed on their website. When you go to the website, flat fees are listed, but the Groupon does not include most of those fees. From talking to a friend about their experience with a different agency, their course offered a flat $150 fee that covered everything - which I would prefer. So if they are going to offer a Groupon, I'd prefer they include all the costs upfront. I also don't care for the extra 3% fee for using a credit card. Overall though, it was a great learning experience for me as a novice and I'd recommend it

As one would expect, student evaluations of your teaching remain very high in all categories. This past weekend, you Excelled at a one Man "BLADE" teaching course. You know the development and Actions of "Real Life Situations n Keeping it Real." Mike Brown's contribution to the first-time-implementation of Security, Anger Management, and CCL course contributed significantly to its success. Above all, you remain open and receptive to comments and suggestions as to how your teaching can grow and improve. In that regard I commend you for the ways in which you have responded positively to some of the things you have discussed during class, as well as in less formal settings. You are making an outstanding contribution to teaching and to the instructional program for your Course and Our Community. In addition to your assigned teaching responsibilities, you volunteer to serve regularly on the shooting range, and take a great deal of time to present master classes at your Chicago Security Concepts Company.
