Poor customer service. My husband and I walked in and were neither greeted nor given any direction…read moreon where to check in for the range. When we asked about a membership, we were rudely told we would have to pay for multiple fees plus the membership ($114 + $50), with no clear explanation. Despite this, we decided to stay and shoot. Later, we asked another employee about the membership, and he took the time to explain it thoroughly and encouraged us to sign up. He then asked another employee to help us with the signup and refund what we had been incorrectly charged. That employee was polite and genuinely tried to help, even asking for assistance from the GM. Unfortunately, instead of being helped, another employee stepped in with an attitude and stated that the membership cost was non-negotiable and that we would still be paying essentially the same amount, minus $5.41. He spoke as if we weren't even standing there. Shortly after, another employee joined with the same dismissive attitude and offered no help. We thanked the one employee who was kind and professional but ultimately decided not to sign up for the membership. I did not appreciate the negative attitudes and unwelcoming environment created by the majority of the staff. If this is how new customers are treated, we will not be returning and will be sharing our experience with others

I came in expecting to be bored sitting on my phone the entire course but this was not the case. Adam is a great instructor, very informative, detailed and fun. The class was very immersive. Great class for beginner, he goes through all details of scenarios when to and when not to exercise your right to defend yourself with deadly force. He will answer all questions and no judgements are made if you are a complete beginner to firearms. you will qualify on your shooting accuracy during the first day, the range is not far from the class at all. You will qualify at the end of the first day class, everyone will pass with the information taught. I have taken a 16 course 5 years ago and all they showed was boring NRA videos and not much information on when to and when to not use your firearm. Adam spoke the entire course with power slide, it was not boring and you will learn life saving information and also information to prevent putting yourself into trouble with the law. You will Learn basic firearm function, grip, fundamental, maintenance, amongst many other important factors of carrying a firearm. You will Learn the law and updated current laws with conceal carry in IL and where you can carry outside of IL. it was very affordable and worth every penny Spent. Thanks Adam.

At first I was apprehensive about going to this class because I didn't want to sit through 16 hours…read moreof class room, I already have over 30 years of law enforcement experience , retired in May 2023 even though I have IRROCC however it's only good for 1 year on the other hand conceal carry is good for 5 years and I frankly thought our yearly going to our gun range to qualify to carry was enough however I quickly found out that the academy taught us officers nothing compared to Blackhawk Tactical class.. I learned so much from Adam the instructor that I encourage everyone to take this 16 hours class. You think you know everything about guns wait until you take this 16 hours class and find out you don't know s.,..t . Adam is true to form really charismatic,smart and really smart at this,he is courteous, respectful and very helpful especially at the gun range he took everyone individually at the gun range to make sure we passed the shooting range. Adam is very knowledgeable about all kinds of guns you can think of,he can break any gun down and tell you the different parts of the gun, he's funny, encourage everyone to participate in the class,I carry a Glock 43 I found out really quick that not only I didn't know the parts but I have been been cleaning it the wrong way which Adam explained it all. By the second day I was looking forward to the class and see wished there was a 3rd day the little $79 we paid was worth every penny. Knowing nothing about conceal and carry steps, but recently having an interest, I ran across a…read moregreat Groupon deal and signed up for the 16-hour course. It was a little difficult to figure out how to use the Groupon on the website, but calling the agency a couple of times helped me resolve the issue. I registered for the two-day course online and the first day I arrived about 5 minutes before the session started. Larry, the first instructor, was kind to wait almost 20 minutes for everyone to arrive - but I would have preferred to start the class on time. The second instructor, Bill arrived later and brought all of the energy and entertainment. The instructors seemed to complement each other and both were very positive, patient and knowledgeable. My favorite part of day 1 was the simulation activity. I would have preferred fewer and shorter breaks to allow more time for additional simulation time. Day 2 started at the Eagle Sports Range to qualify for the Concealed Carry License (CCL). While the Groupon for the course was a great deal (I paid $18), they make up the low price of the class by having a long laundry list of potential expenses (e.g., renting firearm equipment, CCL application assistance, fingerprinting, etc.). Although they send an email prior to class with the list of expenses, it would be more helpful if the itemized costs were listed on their website. When you go to the website, flat fees are listed, but the Groupon does not include most of those fees. From talking to a friend about their experience with a different agency, their course offered a flat $150 fee that covered everything - which I would prefer. So if they are going to offer a Groupon, I'd prefer they include all the costs upfront. I also don't care for the extra 3% fee for using a credit card. Overall though, it was a great learning experience for me as a novice and I'd recommend it

The course was very engaging/hands-on. They are "newbie friendly" when it comes to firearm knowledge, and will teach you the very basics of handling a firearm. This place also has many advanced lessons you can take as well. I will be recommending this place to my friends/family. I will also be looking into the other courses they offer.
