After my normal massage therapist went back to the mainland, I needed to find another spot so I gave PT Massage a try. It's located in a random shopping center across from Thomas Square. They keep the building locked so you have to get buzzed in--or at least I did because I parked in the back area. There is a ton of parking. The place itself is located on the second floor, suite 217. The space itself is pretty cramped. They sort of subdivided massage rooms within the larger office such that my table was at an odd angle. It doesn't really matter since you're lying down but the therapist had to negotiate that lack of room. I chose Kylie and she was great. The website had little bios and her pressure level was listed on there as like 3-5 or something? I assumed that was the highest so I picked her. Good choice. If you like a lot of pressure, Kylie can hook you up. She was digging in places especially at the top of my shoulders that needed some love. And she did this scraping thing on my deltoids that I loved and she worked my glutes/hips really well. Tons of improved range of motion when I left. Overall I thought her technique was great; however, I wished she had spent a little more time in a few areas. I guess I could have spoken up but I'm used to therapists going by feel and then focusing on an area until there's a release. With Kylie, she focused on an area and gave a lot of great pressure but didn't hone in on big trigger points until they make that crunchy feeling of release into smaller ones (or whatever that is). So that's why it's a 4 star not a 5. Otherwise a fantastic massage. I get them every couple of weeks so I'm very particular in what I want and like. She did this jaw thing that was just pain, not the good kind. Won't be doing that again lols. I am 100% sure I'll be going back to Kylie and once I have been there a few times, I feel like I'll be able to communicate exactly what I want a lot better. There's sort of a getting to know your therapist period that I haven't had in a while since I had been seeing my previous one for like 1.5 years. Anyway, if you need a legit deep tissue massage where stuff is actually worked on rather than the relaxation type stuff, I'd recommend giving Kylie a shot. The price was fine and I think I got a new guy discount, read more

I had a quality massage with Crystal Collins. It was relaxing, touched on needed areas and areas that I didn't expect it would feel so good like my forearm, wrist & palm. Her pressure was even and good. Professional & personable. I left feeling calm & relaxed. Definitely better than many spas I've been to. Highly recommend! read more

PT massage is amazing! I haven't found my favorite massage therapist yet because they have all been great. Its nice to just select the first available appointment. read more

I was referred by my doctor to PT Massage to get treatment for an injury that I had about 2 years ago. Located on the second floor of the Medical Arts Building on South King Street, you can assure that you'll receive personalized treatment depending on your areas of concern. The vibe has a very homey feel, not your typical massage spa that most people would expect. The rooms are clean and the sheets are constantly changed. The therapists always checks first how are you feeling and see if there were any changes from your previous appointment. From there, the healing starts by getting the massage treatment that your body desperately needs. I love how friendly all of them are. From the front desk, Aimee - to my go to therapists Tiare and Ruben, up to the owner, Alissa, who also has strong hands to get your knots out! I have visited them a couple of times even after my treatments are done. This place is highly recommended if you are looking for a place to get you healed. read more

I did massage with cupping with Practitioner Hanayo. The venue is cute, clean and inviting. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and greeted me right away. Hanayo is a great therapist. She checked with me often if her pressure was ok. She's strong and was able to work on my "problem" areas. I also enjoyed her cupping method. PT massage is a great full service option that is centrally located with a team of therapists. Getting an appointment and booking online was easy too! Highly recommend! read more

Samantha did an amazing job!! She loosened up my whole entire back and getting all the fat knots I had out. My trouble area was my neck & she definitely worked her magic there. I'll definitely be going back for more massages and cupping :] read more

I was referred here by my chiropractor. Each massage therapist I had was very skilled and able to relieve my tight, aching muscles. They use essential oils if you like and also provide a foot bath before your session begins. They ask you your pain levels before each session and they will focus on your problem areas. The entire staff is friendly and accommodating. They call to remind you of your appointment. There are massage packages that you can purchase and they also provide a HMSA discount for members. I highly recommend this place and their therapists. I will go back for maintenance massages read more

Alisa, Jessica, Rubin , Andrea and Talia is the team that really cared and took the time to meet my needs. They accept insurance and I have no out of pocket expense with my visit. Rubin specialises in sports massage. Jessica and Talia do great deep tissue massage. Alisa and Andrea do cupping. Andrea is also a certified acupuncturist . All 5 stars since the proof is in the results. read more

PT Massage - How I feel after my massage - Massage Therapy Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

PT Massage is just what the doctor ordered for me!!! And what I order for me whenever I can! I have had massages by many therapists at many locations, but when I am in need, this is my go to place! I've had massages by several of the therapists there, including the owner, Alyssa. Each one of them gave me amazing massages... found the right knots and knew how to relieve me of them. This is not an over-priced hotel spa environment, but it's clean and smells good, as well as the place to get a great affordable massage that will make you feel less stressed out and totally relaxed. PT also work with the insurance plans that cover massages. Just wish mine did! read more

This is not your grandmother's massage! As a former licensed massage therapist, I'm pretty choosy about my bodywork. I have seen three different therapists at PT and all three have been excellent. They all checked in on pressure regularly but didn't feel the need to talk to me except to confirm my comfort. Though each therapist had their own style, all three delivered very deep pressure (you can have less if you prefer) and the overall style and focus of the place is therapeutic and sports massage. If you prefer a traditional Swedish massage, you would want to make that clear from the beginning. There is meter parking on the street and paid parking in the lot. They also do a foot bath prior to your massage which is a really nice touch and tends to center you before your session. Finally, you actually get your full 60 or 90 minutes on the table (not including your foot soak and change time). That is a real treat as at many places I've visited, your session is shortened due to change time etc. This is a great place for people who are looking for regular therapeutic massage as a part of their overall wellness routine. read more

I came here a couple of weeks ago for a prenatal massage. I can't remember my masseuse's name... (sorry!)... but she was very relaxing. She asked if I wanted to be on my stomach or my side. I decided to try on my stomach since the last time I had a prenatal massage I was on my side and it just was not very fulfilling (although it very well could've been the masseuse at Plumeria Spa). I usually like deep massages (not pregnant) and she was actually fairly light. Not like she was just rubbing my skin, but not deep at all. However, whether it was her abilities or me being pregnant, I still felt so relaxed and my lower back and hip pain was gone at the end of the 1 hr massage! I was a bit skeptical but let her do her thing since I have no idea what typically goes on in a "prenatal" massage. It turned out fantastic. She flipped me on my back and put a huge wedge under my legs. I told her that sometimes I can't stay on my back (6 months pregnant) for long without feeling uncomfortable and she said to just let her know. However, I felt just fine and stayed on my back while she massaged my legs again, even my belly (ever so gently), and gave me an awesome massage/accupressure or whatever it was on my neck! Now some may say that you should never ever lay on your back, but I've read that if it's cutting off the big vein in your spine, you will definitely feel it and mostly depends on how the baby is positioned. I will definitely get another prenatal massage from PT massage again and May is 25% off month so that means $75 for 1 1/2 hrs!!!! I give them a 5 star even though I'm not really sure if this IS as good as a prenatal massage gets but when i enter with lower back and hip pain from the baby and exit without any, I say 5 stars!! read more

It's been a while since I've been to PT massage to none of their fault... As soon as I walked in, memories flooded back about the massages that I have experienced prior. Now, I was seeing someone new and was pleasantly surprised with her professionalism, attention to detail and knowledge about the body. Kelsey was just AWESOME!! The only reason I did not give 5 stars was, while the atmosphere is very comfortable and reminds me of being at home, the fragrance that they use is a little strong. I am a little sensitive to different odors and there are very distinct smells that barrage you as you enter the door. I am none the worse for it so I will be returning! Very happily as well! 2 thumbs up!!! read more

Rating: 3.5/5 Date visited: sometime between 2008-2010. Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 2/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 4/5 I've been meaning to come back to this place, but life just gets too busy. With all the stress that goes on in life...a good long massage goes a long way. I did stop by today to see if they had any specials this month, and they did. Service: I've had a couples of massages in my life time...and they all feel the same to me..."Grrrrreat!" Atmosphere: I do agree with "Joey S's" review that the fragrance is strong. Also, "Akiko T." describes it well: "It's like visiting a psychic." Price: Best price I've seen around. Parking: Not bad. read more

PT Massage has helped me when I needed some major relief from back pain. Have been coming here for many years and have ALWAYS been happy and appreciative of the people and services I've been blessed to recieve! The prices are very good, space is clean and comfortable, the foot bath before the massage set the right tone for the session and the therapists are friendly and good at what they do. Give PT Massage a call if you are in need of a massage...a 60 minute massage here is really 60 minutes! And if u can afford a longer session - Go For It!!! read more

OMG! So I woke up this morning with a ridiculously huge knot in my back. A friend suggested I go get a massage. So I Googled and Yelped and found PT Massage. This place is Heaven for an hour! The staff is friendly and they got all of the knots out. Plus you can't beat their deals. I am heading to the front desk to book my next appointment. Note: I have a knee injury right now and the staff member was very conscious of it and was still able to massage and get some knots out. Love it!!! read more

I ran the Honolulu Marathon for the first time two months ago. Needless to say, I was in need of a really good massage to ease out my legs and back...plus, I wanted to reward myself for finishing! Not knowing where would be a good place to receive sports massage, I asked my boss at work. She asked another girl that went to a sports/ deep tissue massage and PT Massage was the one recommended. I booked an appointment on my day off, and went. It's in the medical building across from Blaisdell Center. The waiting room was kind of weird like as if I went in to see a psychic, but once I got used to it, it was kind of like visiting your aunty's house. While I was waiting for my therapist, they gave me a warm foot bath. Fortunately, I had a therapist (sorry, forgot her name!! A cute therapist with short blond hair.) that had just done a long distance marathon as well, so she knew EXACTLY what kind of pain I was in. She worked on my body focusing on my back and legs and mmmmmm it felt good! Plus, the price was at such a reasonable range. I like that. If I want to pamper myself for a "spa" experience, this may not be the salon I would go to, but for my massage after my runs and intense activities, PT Massage would be the choice for me. read more

If you're looking for a good massage place at a good price PT Massage is a good place to try. Decor of the place is nothing to write home about and probably won't impress you as much as some other day spas out there, but the service is among the best I'll received (and I've gone to many great massage establishments locally). What I like about the folks at PT is that many of the masseuses combine elements of physical therapy (hence the name PT) into their massage therapy bodywork. In addition to the usual massage modalities the therapists combine various stretching exercises that really help to kick things up a notch and make you feel way better. All sessions start off with a quick foot bath and massage. Prices for massage on average our lower than most day spas out there and they do offer regular specials and prepay packages to help you get additional value for your dollar. read more

I came here after getting a recommendation from a friend to see Andrea. My shoulder had been bothering me for a few days and I knew it wasn't going to go away by itself. I called on a Monday morning and scored an appointment the same day, thank goodness. Andrea was a true professional and talked to me about what I wanted and needed that day and really helped work the kinks out of my shoulder. She used the right amount of pressure and did some cupping on me as well (which I love). I will be back if I am hurting and I also just need to get back into regular massage and this was a good reminder. They provide a 25% discount for first timers and if you make enough referrals (6 I think?) you are eligible for a free massage. So if you go, tell them I sent you! They validate parking and there is lots of street parking nearby as well. read more

I came to PT Massage following an auto accident after doing a search for "acupressure" on Yelp, and have been very happy with the therapies they provide. I am very picky with massage therapists and have been delighted by the high quality therapists they have at PT Massage. I have received everything from Swedish to lymphatic to Hawaiian massage, depending on my body's needs that day. Everyone in the spa is very friendly, and it has a nice, relaxing environment. Looking forward to trying cupping and other services they provide. They are great at pairing me with a therapist that meet my needs for deep pressure on the days I request it, and then are able to find me a relaxing therapist when I am looking for a more comfortable massage. Excited to have found PT Massage for my post accident recovery :-) read more

I use Yelp a lot and I figured I should finally post a review. Monica at PT Massage is an incredibly gifted massage therapist. PT Massage a great place for maintenance massages, those massages you get on a regular monthly or bi-monthly basis. It's a welcoming and simple place. Not too frilly, but their therapists are awesome. Prices are good too. Monica is really one of the best massage therapists and I've been many therapists. She's skinny but don't let that fool you- she is still strong. Monica is so thoughtful, caring and nurturing. I really can't say enough about how awesome Monica is. She uses a variety of techniques and her massages are incredible. Tish, the owner of PT Massage is very welcoming runs a nice place. There is validated parking in the back and there is street parking as well. It is also close to downtown, so it makes it easy for an after work massage. Prices are also reasonable and Tish runs a special every few months. You can also pre-pay and get 6 massages for the price of 5. Seriously though, Monica is the best! read more

I am a massage junkie and really enjoy a massage therapist that can dig in and get he knots out! PT massage is my favorite massage spot in Honolulu. The owner does a great job in hiring therapists who are aware of body mechanics and truly enjoy helping people. I also like that they use Young Living Essential Oils during their treatments. I regularly see Anna who has a gift in relieving the pain and stiffness in my muscles. She also has educated me with stretches that will help me maintain my body after my massages. read more

Absolute worst customer service ever! I called in and I spoke to a Amy on Saturday, August 24. She told me that they only had a 6pm appointment available to come in. I was inquiring about a cupping massage. I was also told that I would get a 25% discount for being a first time customer of this location. I called back multiple times starting from 4:25pm with no answer. So since I live close to this place, I decided that I should just drive over. I came in and I waited in the lobby for over 20 minutes. Then a lady came out and just stared at me and didn't say hello or anything. I said oh I called in a while ago asking about a appointment and she said well I am busy at the moment assisting another person you're going to need to wait. Then after assisting the customer out, she looked in her book and said there is no appointments for 6:00 PM. Then stared at me and said well I can book you for an appointment on Monday and I said no because I requested for a 6:00 PM appointment today. When I told her that I had called multiple times she looked at the phone and said well I don't see any messages. Then I responded yeah I didn't leave a message because I came in but I did send a Yelp message which I never got a response to. She just said sorry you have to go, then walked me out because she says that the doors are locked and I won't be able to get out. Worst service ever by Hannah. Also, don't you think a place would have someone to be picking up the phone for all business hours and not just until 4:30 PM. read more

Came for a birthday massage my husband got for me. And I had Andrea which I recommend having her. On the beginning of all of it when she was massaging me (I like it pressured hard) I felt like I was already in heaven. Out of all the massages I got she was the only one who could put me to sleep that's how good she is! She always made sure by asking me if I wanted it pressed harder or softer and asked how I was doing. At the end of it all she told me where the points on my body that needed to be stretched out and where I was most stressed. She also gave me tips on how to make it better which I never had anyone tell me before. That's when I know they take good care of there customers by making sure we fell great at the end and to make sure we left happy. I definitely will be coming back to this place and I also recommend others checking this place out.. for 1 hr my husband only paid $57 and I was shocked most places go for $80-$120 But the only bad this was once I was oiled I felt a slight chill in the room but anything els.. THIS PLACE IS A HARD 5 ON MY CHARTS read more

I got prenatal massage just yesterday. My lower back just killing me. 7 month so far. Masseuse, unfortunately didn't catch her name, blonde girl, was terrible. During session I asked her 4(!) time for more pressure, but she just continue to rub me with palm! She didn't use her finger at my back, not even once. Not before or After session, nobody offered water, but she asked how i feel, I honestly said, that massage was terrible, but she covered with her teacher, that he told her to do this way with pregnant women, without any pressure. I confused with this phrase, bkz it was my fourth prenatal massage, and at another places, was good enough , but I was looking something near by Where I Am living. So she told me continue to see another specialists( what I'll def will do, or she thought I come back to this place?) I really think she was tired and lazy. I was last patient, they closed at 6pm, she done at 7:30, I went down, the same way I came there, but every exit was close. This girl she even didn't explain me how to get out from this building. So with my big bump I have to walk to the stairs again and look for exit to get out. Overall terrible experience, with bad masseuse who doesn't care, better pay lil bit more but get normal massage, not just palm rub. read more

I would highly recommend PT Massage to anyone! Alissa, who is the owner of PT Massage, is extremely knowledgable and friendly. I've gone twice and had Jessica as my massage therapist and she did a wonderful job. She focused on the areas that I felt needed more attention and my body felt incredibly relaxed and rejuvenated after. I also love that the 90 minutes of massage is an actually 90 minutes of massage - the clock starts when you're on the table, which is different from most massage places where they start your time from the moment you walk in through the door. If you're looking for a clean, professional, friendly, and therapeutic massage experience PT Massage is definitely the place to go. read more

I've been getting acupuncture from Andrea and it has been so helpful! My job is really physical and lately I've been hurting all over so I really look forward to my weekly acupuncture sessions with her. I also really appreciate how easy it is to communicate with her. So happy I found Andrea! read more

I love PT massage. The prices are hard to beat even at regular price. They have deals and discounts all the time. I personally always use the prepaid packages. I have to say it's quite different from your spa or resort type massage. They take the time before the massage to find out about you starting with your medical history and previous ailments/surgery. They always make sure all your problem areas are focused on. Best of all, I never worry about the time cause whether it's a 60, 90, 120 minute massage that's exactly what you get. The therapists and receptionists are all very personable. I've always been open to new therapists and I'm never disappointed. read more

I would highly recommend anyone in need of a massage to come here. They were very personable and know their stuff. Alissa (the owner) greeted me immediately with a smile and addressed all my questions since it was my first time getting a massage. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't think of getting one sooner. She recommended getting a 90 minute massage to get the most out of it and she was right. My therapist was Kira and she was amazing. I felt so relaxed and stress free afterwards. I am definitely coming back. (P.S. They also offer acupuncture!) read more

If you need a deep tissue massage in a comfortable and affordable place this is it! All of the therapists are excellent. I've been a regular client for months now. Their pre-pay and special months help keep it affordable. I find that in fancy spas all you are paying for is atmosphere. Your massage is light and you feel good while getting the massage but the effects don't last . If you want a massage that 3 days later and longer you are still feeling good and knowing the effects this is the place to go. Parking is complimentary and always available. Also if you pay for a massage for a certain time that is what you get. I.e. if you pay for an hour you get the full hour on the table in massage. No skimping on time. I've sent several friend to this place and they all loved their experience. I've especially recommended my expectant friends. Their Pre-natal massages really help. read more

As part of my rehab from shoulder surgery a couple of years ago for a torn rotator cuff and a subsequent frozen shoulder, I went through several doctors and physical therapists before I came into contact with the RIGHT doctor and the RIGHT physical therapist, who eventually referred me to PT Massage to help me optimize my range of motion and relieve the constant pain I was having. I found the staff at PT Massage, particularly the owner Alissa, to be highly professional, caring, and extremely competent. With each session I experienced noticeable improvement. I now have regained complete range of motion for my shoulder and arm, and the show-stopping pain is gone. I'm continuing with PT Massage with regular visits to resolve other physical issues that result from an active lifestyle, stressful work conditions, and having a Baby Boomer body. I've been so impressed and grateful for the treatment and results I received from PT Massage that I've convinced my wife and our kids and their families to become regular clients too.
