It's hard to fully express how valuable LVA's summer training program has been for my daughter,…read moreother than to say it has been the answer to more than a year of prayer. After spending over a year traveling all over DFW and attending more than 20+ camps and clinics, I can honestly say these training sessions are unlike anything we've experienced. LVA showed me that truly position-specific training does exist. You just have to find the right place. Before this, I had started to believe there simply weren't any genuinely position-focused clinics. Most of the camps we attended felt more like large assembly lines where the biggest benefit was getting extra touches rather than receiving meaningful coaching. With so many athletes and much of the instruction led by older players instead of experienced coaches, individualized feedback was understandably limited. At LVA that has been completely different. Every session is intentionally coached from start to finish, and I can see my daughter's growth from one day to the next. She's not just repeating drills to fill the hour but she's learning the "why" behind them, being taught proper technique and making real improvements. What has impressed me most, and what we had never experienced anywhere else, is that the owner is acting as a genuine director as well as a coach so he and his head coach are actively leading the training sessions themselves. They also bring in additional experienced coaches based on the number of athletes attending. That allows every player to receive individualized instruction, real-time corrections, and the opportunity to immediately apply those adjustments while the drill is still fresh. Instead of waiting at the back of a long line and hoping for another turn before the session ends, the athletes are constantly engaged, coached, and improving. Beyond the skill development, I've watched my daughter's confidence grow with every session. Even more telling, she's genuinely excited to go every day. The atmosphere at the club is incredibly welcoming, and the current players have been so encouraging and supportive that she immediately felt like she belonged. As a parent, seeing her look forward to training is just as rewarding as watching her improve on the court. As LVA adds fall clinics, this is an investment I'll continue to make without hesitation. It's rare to find a program that is so intentional about developing athletes while also creating an environment where they being challenged, supported, and excited to keep learning. Hopefully dog owners bring a baggie for picking that up because stepping in it would not be cool. Lots of kids out here too, playing on the grass. I enjoy watching my son play baseball here or when he has practice. Concession stand is open during games as well as a snow cone truck parked on site for an ice cold treat. There's a mini playground area that's great for the littles. Basketball court, soccer and baseball fields, trail for exercise/stroll. It's well kept & well lit.

The facility is quite large and offers a variety of services. We were in a large room with tall floor to ceiling windows that faces the park. It was nice to be able to see outside and enjoy the greenery. However, this also meant that the instructor was backlit. She did not turn on the lights in the room. This was okay for me, but it probably would have been better if she has turned on the lights so that we could see her better. In the hallway, there were a lot of paintings on display and they were actually for sale. They highlighted local artists and several of their works. The paintings were priced around $250. It is very reasonable considering the cost of canvas, paint, frame, and the creativity and labor that goes into the work. The front desk staff were helpful. I stopped by there first, and one woman staff member was kind enough to walk me to the room where my class took place. The gym has several of these large rental room spaces, but it also has a gym with treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, and machines The City of Richardson allows access to this facility and Heights located in opposite sides of Hey 75 for an annual fee of $70 to residents, even less if you are a senior. You can also get a membership if you aren't a resident of the city. It costs a few dollars more. It's a great deal since most commercial gyms cost $100 a month compared to the price here for an entire year! The hours change, so it is best to check the web or call the main number. It's usually open until 10pm on weeknights, excluding Fridays, but closes earlier on the weekends.

These blue bags are how the city picks up recycling at our curb once a week. I had such a letter and needed to get some blue bags. They are fairly inexpensive to buy if you don't happen to have a letter. The woman at the counter was so pleasant and cheerful! Richardson is a great city to live in. We are lucky to have such great city services: trash pickup twice per week and recycling pickup once per week. Also a Babic- Brush and Bulky Item Collection can be scheduled for larger bulky trash items (furniture, old appliances, etc) weighing over 50 pounds, brush and tree trimmings, etc. The pickup day is the same as your recycling day. This varies depending on where you live within the city. You can go to the city website www.cor.net for more information or to schedule your bulky pickup. There is also a phone app "My Richardson" where you can also schedule through. So convenient and easy!
