The park has a brick gazebo pavilion with four 8-foot long picnic tables, a large BBQ grill and electric outlets. Be sure to check out the shaded playground area, sandy volleyball court, drinking water fountain, 31 trees, basketball court and lots of benches scattered around and one picnic table by the volleyball court. For dog walkers like myself, bikers, joggers and fur baby owners there is a 0.2 mile cement trail loop for lots of fun and exercise. Thinking about moving to the Aviary Subdivision in Murphy, Texas? I am giving it a four star instead of a five star rating for the following reasons: (1) Yelp won't let me give it a fractional rating of 4.8 or 4.5, which is what I think it should be rated as of the date of this review; (2) it is located just about a mile from Bob Woodruff Park which I rated a 5.0 and is a bigger and better park; and (3) some of the playground equipment could stand to be reconditioned or up-dated. When you spend as much time walking fur babies it is important to know your local neighborhoods and that includes the local parks. This park is a jewel for local residents and visitors. It has soccer fields, two playground areas in the main area of the park and more available on the Willowcreek trail, a rental pavilion (see more on that below), numerous uncovered picnic tables scattered around the park, two bridges, a creek and lots of trees, some wildlife, lots of benches and restrooms. My favorite part of this park is that it is part of the well constructed and maintained Willowcreek trail system. Which means that fur babies (i.e. dogs) have lots of room to sniff, explore, run, play and enjoy themselves. There is no shortage of grass or cement for dog walking and pet recreational time at this park. The pavilion holds a maximum of 50 people. The resident rental rate if $50. The non-resident rental rate is $100. Plano Parks & Recreation requires a $75 deposit. Other fees may apply. Check it out. You will be glad that you did. Are you a Plano 75074 proud pet owner?
