Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They are very organized, when dirt, rocks were delivered they moved to backyard. Then they swept the street and/or driveway to keep clean. Our neighbors complemented on the nice job of keeping street clean. Juan Carlos and his 2 workers were very well organized. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. I asked for a few Day Lillie's be transplanted back into the area. They installed a new drip system with an extension for me to plant my small veggie garden. He was able to quickly adjust and replace sprinklers, fix a leaky drip line, and determine why our tree was dieing - it had one blocked drip line when it should have had three working ones! He set our timers for optimum results. He also advised us on weed control and how to restore our lawn. We look forward to having a green lawn and a healthy tree. We learned so much! Matt was extremely helpful, responsive when contacted, he works fast and thoroughly. To us his work went above and beyond the price. 6/15/26- Desperately…read moreneeded an expert to help with the backyard sprinklers.. Being away for four days and came back to a large brown spot .. and drying grass.. It's been a yearly issue when the heat starts and the grass starts looking stressed. Relying on Yelp and Google.. lead me to Matt from countryside Lawns. Reached out last week, and prompt communication from the start. Matt arrived today and I led him to the problem area.. After two hours of replacing and adjusting sprinkler heads, I could already see a difference. Knowledgeable, professional and honest.. that best describe the visit. Definitely keeping him on my list of favorite contractors! I learned so much from him about the sprinkler heads- trajectory and fertilizers.. She also reserved the replacement statue we wanted, which we purchased today. We are very impressed how she made us feel valued and genuinely wanted to make sure we were happy with our purchase. We are excited to work with Julie and the garden center team to have it installed. Also - we want to shout out Alan who helped us select a couple of plants - a Mugo pine and another purple flowering shrub - he was so knowledgeable about the plants and also gave us some great advice about the watering and care of the plants and our entire garden! We approached DRC this summer and started the process of planning a front yard landscape. bothy…read morehusband and I were really impressed with how responsive they were. we were pretty specific about the desert plants we wanted, and wanting certain features, as well as a wildflower bed. They worked around a couple of trees we wanted to keep, and cleaned them up nicely. Our entire irrigation system needed to be rebuilt as well. We worked primarily with Tracie (and Juan!) and they were amazing. Ultimately they were able to complete our job in less than a week, a month earlier than originally planned, and made substantial accommodations to work around the new road construction on our street. We're really happy with the new yard, and can't wait to see it fill out over the next couple of years. We highly recommend. As for prices, we had also reached out to another reputable landscaper in Reno and found DRC's on par with others, and a little less than what we were planning for. So all around, we are really pleased!

We were originally drawn to Green Lizard via photos of their work. It just looked better than…read moreanyone else's. After learning of their award-winning reputation, we decided to hire them. We were blessed to have been able to build our home on a lot that backed into some nice cottonwoods on wide-open, sagebrush-laden Washoe land. Our idea was to first reduce / modify the subdivision - issue 6' cedar fence by half to maximize that view (thanks JP Fence) then start from scratch with a landscape design that complimented that view. That was basically the only instruction we gave to Travis - to make it all work together. We figured if he and crew had been doing it for 17 years, earning best in Carson honors time and again, we would be wise give him free reign to apply his craft. Turns out we were right. Travis came up with a great design and worked diligently and systematically w/ his crew with everyday, cleaning up after themselves every evening. He kept us advised throughout the process, delivering a few services and extras along the way that were not contracted for, but very much appreciated. The ultimate result was a handsome xeriscape, w/ stunning water feature that feeds beautifully into the natural span of cottonwoods and sagebrush beyond, incorporating some 18 different species of indigenous trees and plant-life to insure an ongoing show of blooms throughout the year. In short, we could not be more pleased with the beautiful and relaxing addition to our everyday life and feel like geniuses for hiring Green Lizard.
