Awesome quality work, and very responsive to emergencies. I would recommend them for maintenance issues as well as original design.

We were originally drawn to Green Lizard via photos of their work. It just looked better than anyone else's. After learning of their award-winning reputation, we decided to hire them. We were blessed to have been able to build our home on a lot that backed into some nice cottonwoods on wide-open, sagebrush-laden Washoe land. Our idea was to first reduce / modify the subdivision - issue 6' cedar fence by half to maximize that view (thanks JP Fence) then start from scratch with a landscape design that complimented that view. That was basically the only instruction we gave to Travis - to make it all work together. We figured if he and crew had been doing it for 17 years, earning best in Carson honors time and again, we would be wise give him free reign to apply his craft. Turns out we were right. Travis came up with a great design and worked diligently and systematically w/ his crew with everyday, cleaning up after themselves every evening. He kept us advised throughout the process, delivering a few services and extras along the way that were not contracted for, but very much appreciated. The ultimate result was a handsome xeriscape, w/ stunning water feature that feeds beautifully into the natural span of cottonwoods and sagebrush beyond, incorporating some 18 different species of indigenous trees and plant-life to insure an ongoing show of blooms throughout the year. Green Lizard is the absolute best. Dedicated to plants that are meant to be in this climate! They took our yard that was full of water wasting grass to an absolute oasis. Travis and co. plant things so that something is always blooming. I hired Green Lizard Landscaping on the recommendation of a friend. Travis and Lee were so easy to work with. Travis came out to look at the property and find out what I wanted. I said I liked feeding the birds and wanted to do my part to save the bees. "And butterflies?" he added. Sure! He asked me about the colors I like and how I plan to enjoy my yard. I told him I like to sit on the porch in the morning anytime the weather permits. So he nodded, took notes, and said he'd be in touch. When I saw him next, I had 2 separate quotes to choose from. He explained about each plant he had selected for the yard, and how they would benefit the birds, bees and butterflies. He even included a tall, skinny evergreen that would block the neighbor's satellite dish while I was sitting on the porch! I didn't even realize I needed that, but now that it's in... Genius! The yard was installed last September and I couldn't be happier. The crew that came out to do the work was wonderful as well. It only took 3 days to rip out the old yard put in a brand new drip system, put in the plants, the tree, the rock, the boulders, and the DG. The drip system they installed has an app. (Of course!) Travis programmed it to run on a schedule for each season. Or we can go in and run in manually if we like. He made a video of how to turn the system off and on in the winter which is great. Customer service at its finest! It has been so much fun watching my yard come alive after the long, wet winter. Most of the plants survived just fine, and the very few that didn't were replaced at no charge. I am happy to report, that as promised, I have seen an abundance of bees and butterflies, and best of all, the unexpected but much appreciated hummingbird! Every day I come home from work and pull into the driveway, I am just amazed by how much I love my yard. There is just so much interest in it. Nothing is dull. The blooming, the fading. And like he promised, I have had flowers of some sort blooming in my yard since April, and they are still coming up! The man is a true artist! And as my own personal homage to the company, I bought a fun little "Green Lizard" yard art to sit on one of my boulders. Thank you Travis, Lee and company! read more

We hired Green Lizard on the recommendation of a coworker after we screwed up the slope of our backyard trying to landscape it ourselves. We have a very small backyard and didn't want a ton of vegetation to water, but we have two dogs that really needed a little patch of lawn. I'm somewhere in between having very specific likes and dislikes, and not knowing what I want. Green Lizard came up with some great recommendations for us and incorporated everything I asked for, including some really cool lighting. After the winter, about half of our lawn didn't survive. Travis not only replaced it, he had contacted me to ask how the lawn was doing before I even had a chance to call him. He also replaced the timer on the lights after I told him it wasn't working, which may or may not have been operator error. Everyone that sees our backyard is impressed not only by the quality of the work, but by the fact that Green Lizard stands behind their work. Smart, Talented, and Ethical. I hired them after the original landscaper cheated us on the new install. Green Lizard fixed everything, and helped up improve it beautifully over the years with their great ideas and expert capabilities. They won numerous awards for the work, and it helped our house to sell for a good price a few years later. They are the nicest, most pleasant people to work with, and use honorable labor practices, hiring only qualified, legal labor. Good landscaping isn't cheap, but their prices are fair, their billing practices are honest, and they're always on the lookout for a bargain (like a great tree at a bargain price.) They are great at everything from mundane seasonal cleanups to certified arborist work like installing a giant tree. They installed a massive stone sculptural fountain in a pre-existing courtyard and amazingly didn't scratch a surface, and it's worked perfectly for years. Of all the businesses and contractors I've worked with over the years in the Carson Valley, Green Lizard is by far the best, with not a single problem that wasn't resolved quickly and in a way that made me happy. Hire them for new install, remodeling, or maintenance. They're the best! read more

I recently contracted this company to do the irrigation in my yard, I had a leak after they had done some repairs in the back of my home, now I am told a valve is bad on the system , the valve is in the line after the repair, which shouldnt matter because all repairs are to be completed when the system is refreshed, which obviously was completed poorly,First I emailed and waited all day for a reply in regard to a big water leak in my front yard,Then I had to call, after calling and being told they didnt know when someone would be contacting me and maybe I should call someone else, I responded by saying Maybe I should call an attorney,all of a sudden someone was on the way, well apparently the Chump Travis that came to my house (the original Butcher himself) had a problem with that,First off, I am sick of SCAM ARTISTS like you going around messing peoples stuff up and then getting all offended when someone talks about a lawsuit,if you were doing your job from the beginning this wouldnt even be an issue, I have an outline, You act like I enjoy having to manage your company for you, in our emails showing the services that should have been done and they werent, and the ones that were, damaged my system, if my grass dies while I wait, ill make sure to include it in the LAWSUIT, theres that word again. But let me be clear, I am the consumer I do not have the duty to be professional, you do, and I was entirely professional, it was the ignorant comments from the non professional woman that answers your phone that warranted me mentioning legal recourse which is my right as an American furthermore Im sorry to inform you since you broke my irrigation and refuse to fix it, you still get to meet my lawyer, what a joke for a half a** ran company. They half a** it up til the end then its my fault they cant do their job, sorry guys maybe you should step into reality, You have 5 days to call before you get a certified letter, deny that the sheriff will bring the next one. It only costs 35 dollars to take you to court and my case is pretty simple. I wouldnt deal with these guys, the crappy low prices arent worth the crappy service and what the repairs will cost after getting services from a company that knows nothing of accountability. read more

Green Lizard exceeded our expectations. We didn't know where to start, interviewed a few companies and got bids and we are SO HAPPY we selected Green Lizard. It was the easiest large project we ever did! (We just built a house so we know the difference.) Travis "got" what we wanted; he is a good listener and doesn't try to make you do things you don't want but takes your ideas and creates a beautiful landscape of variety with plants that bloom throughout the year. Being IT folks we also appreciate the automatic fertilizer and weather station to take all the fuss out of when to turn the water on an off. The crew is friendly, happy, prompt and neat. They didn't miss a thing and added on to what we thought we were getting. We now have a BEAUTIFUL landscape that compliments our home and the environment. And it is maintenance free.
