"For anyone who's been thinking about decluttering, I can't recommend Prune & Bloom highly enough - it was above and beyond what I expected. I won a "Life Decluttering" experience from Jen (Prune & Bloom's founder) at the Walk To Defeat ALS kick off party. I had not idea what exactly I won. Jen showed up at my house and we began by first talked about life and all sorts of things that made me realize that clutter expands beyond just things - it's mental and logistical too. We then transitioned to tackle my physical space (my kitchen). But, before that, she helped me first think of a simple-realistic ways of decluttering: could a family member or friend use something I'm not using? Is this something I could give to charity? Is this a project that can be completed or looked at later, etc. Is it actually on my calendar?"
My wish was to clear my counter-tops and have a show stopper kitchen, without clutter. I am the worst about putting everything on my kitchen counters and before I know it, it's gotten so out of hand. Jen not only helped me sort through and find a place for every last piece (including the many papers and such which had paralyzed me before), but she also even took things from other parts of my kitchen and arranged them so cute on my counter top - like an interior decorating bonus I wasn't expecting. Even though there were still items on my counters, they had a purpose, and it looked like a model kitchen. Now it's just a matter of remembering the things she taught me and maintaining them. It also helped me apply the same frame of mind to other areas of my house as well as key areas of my life I realized had some "mental clutter." Once Jen left I felt lighter, energized and super motivated both inside and outside." read more
