In December of 1994 I was driving home on a little two-lane Highway and an 18-wheeler pulled out in…read morefront of me. He had no lights on his trailer so I didn't see him until he was about 50 feet away. I went under the trailer and hit the axle at around 45 mph suffering head trauma among other things. My life was forever changed. Assessing the damage still years later it was found I lost the ability to organize things around me and remember what I had. I tended to keep things out in the open so I could see it every day and take an account of what I had. Then I moved in with my entire household of stuff into my grandmother's home which was also full of stuff. To make matters worse I had become a bit of a shopaholic after my accident. I could never remember what I bought so I bought it 4 and 5 times over in many cases. I was tripping over boxes and furniture and my family or friends would no longer come inside to visit. My mom did some research and hired Randi Lyman of A Helping Hand. She couldn't have picked a better person to help me. Randi is very considerate and a positive force even in my life today. She is so supportive and in no way looks down on you regardless of your situation. She is so compassionate and incredibly professional. My house is now organized and de cluttered. She helped me make decisions where my thought processes had broken down. I can't thank her enough for what she did. I was also imbued with her thought processes for making decisions about buying and also organizing what I already have. So as new things come in, old things go out and the new stuff is organized. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who needs help regardless of your situation. Thanks again Randi! You are one of the finest people I know!

It's so easy to find what I need immediately because everything has a labeled space. I didn't realize how much stress the disorganization was causing me until Amber worked her magic. I breathe a sigh of relief every time I go into my closet -- something I've never been able to do before! So grateful for Amber and The Detailed Life team!

Kat and team helped me with a major downsize move recently, and I truly don't know what I would've…read moredone without them. First, they showed up to help me trudge through the terrible job of purging and got me super organized. The painful process was somehow made doable by Kat and her team (shout out to Emmerie!), with their firm but gentle persistence to get it all done. They really kept me on task/gave direction when I needed to sift through things which was incredibly helpful. Otherwise when I had to work or was busy with my kids they never seem to waste a minute. Moving with two toddlers was completely overwhelming, but they unpacked and got us organized in the new house in just two days. I called them back to organize the garage I'd managed to stuff full with overflow and in just a day they had it all perfectly purged, sorted and stacked. They showed up on-time and worked without stopping aside from a short lunch break (which was always fun getting to chat with them) -which was quite impressive given the slog I put them through. They are delightful and super enjoyable and easy to work with, I cannot recommend this crew highly enough!!

I'm lucky enough to live right here in Austin where Layne could come work her magic in person…read more Y'all. It was kind of life changing. I'm already thinking about how I'm going to woo her to Dallas when I move back in a year. Even though I had never met her in person, I had zero qualms about turning over my keys and letting her do her thing. I thought it might be embarrassing because my house was such chaos, but she didn't seem phased at all! In fact, she accomplished in 4 hours what would have taken me days. Before she came, my closets and shelves were hodgepodges of random things (shoes, toilet paper, laundry detergent, cat toys, bug spray, bath towels... you get the idea.) Now, everything has a home in a perfectly labeled box. She installed a couple of acrylic shelves that I had bought before she came, and brought along storage bins, a label maker (!!!!), and a shoe rack that fit my space perfectly. I know exactly where to find things, and I know exactly where to put them back. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to come home and not have to think about clutter. Some of my friends scoffed at the idea of paying somebody to organize my house when, in theory, I could do it myself. To them I say: in theory, I could also cut my own hair, change my own oil, and grow my own vegetables! Alas, there are some things that, if possible, should really be left to professionals. (As for pricing, Layne is super fairly priced. I don't think you'll find somebody more reasonable who actually knows what they're doing.)

Sydney, Alexis, and Lili…read moreplus the other ladies did a phenomenal job taking on the chaos of unpacking our mostly mislabeled boxes.  Their attention to detail and skills of organizing shows as our stuff, for the most part, was thrown into boxes during our quick exit of our previous home.  They were kind and respectful and did their job diligently.  I can't say enough how impressed I am by their skills of organizing and professionalism.  I really appreciated that they took the time to get things just right by redoing spaces until all are satisfied.  This was not the case in our previous experiences with other organizing companies.  I am just blown away by these ladies!  In our previous experiences,  my husband and I would gripe about how much we spent on organizers and how it wasn't exactly what we expected it as we'd still have to spend endless hours organizing after they've left.  After Ms. Placed left, we could basically enjoy our new home w/o worry. Thank you Ms. Placed! Sydney, Lili, & Alexis, you ladies are fantastic!!!!

She is a BEAST & helps yo go through items. She didnt do it FOR us which I think is important but was there to do the bulk of the work and guide us. Our house was TRANSFORMED in a matter of hours. She would run and get supplies had a team of men to help move us. I mean she really is amazing. Super resourceful with anything you need housewife, whether it's a handy man or remodeling. Her eye for interior design is awesome and she takes our requests to heart!! Here is just ONE room of before and after. Seriously amazing. We want to take her with us !!

B. Ware! You WILL be taken advantage of! Our experience…read morewith B. Moore Organized was extremely disappointing due to a lack of transparency, poor communication, and unexpected costs. The company never disclosed during the sales process that it routinely discards clients' existing storage containers, "decants" and replaces them with its own plastic Container Store bins. Our home already contained functional, clearly labeled storage systems, yet many of these were thrown away and replaced with plastic containers throughout nearly every drawer, cabinet, and storage area. It very much seemed that the workers were being paid by the number of plastic bins they could hide throughout the home. The team also "decanted" numerous pantry and household items into plastic Container Store containers without discussing the process with us beforehand. We had concerns about the sanitary handling of items during this process and would not have approved many of these changes had we been consulted. What was presented as professional organizing quickly became an expensive Plastic bin product-installation project. We were ultimately presented with more than $6,000 in charges for containers and products that were neither requested nor necessary. Had these practices been disclosed before we signed the agreement, we would have selected a different provider. Professional organizers should be transparent about their methods, obtain approval before discarding client property, and communicate product costs before incurring them. Unfortunately, this was not our experience.

I remember the first time she came to my house and I was hoping she would just do it all for me - it was too much for me to fathom going through the memorabilia items in my home. I couldn't part with them but they were clogging up my life. Shannon very gently, but persistently helped me come to grips with the disorganizational mess I had because of these items and how I either needed to get the items out of the boxes and enjoy them or get rid of them. She helps her clients realize that what they might be holding on to isn't the item at all. She helps sort through the clutter and develop a system in collaboration with the CLIENT, so that it works for them! What a concept! There are times I can still hear Shannon say -"like items" should go together and "if you love it so much, why is it in a box in the basement?" She is very talented and helped me develop lasting changes to how I organize my house these days. I would call her organizer/counselor and she is worth every penny. If she was still in Omaha, I would not hesitate to continue to recommend her to anyone, as I have, struggling with a system in their home that isn't working, working though their clutter issues, or just wanting a freshening of their household, since she also has a great eye for design and arranging. Hire her today and you will be so glad you did!
