My husband ordered an orange juice, the chicken and waffles and a side of over easy eggs. Both sides of eggs were overcooked. The chicken on the waffles was crispy but dry and flavorless. The churro waffle was soft, warm and the right amount of sweet. We were sat in the side room by the bar. While we waited for our food we couldn't help but over hear the staff talking at the bar (about 6 feet away from us) debating on staying at work or going home because it was slow. One woman who we assumed was the manager kept saying out loud "who wants a project? Who wants to sweep the porch?" Nice ambiance and friendly professional staff. Went yesterday (Saturday) for a bite with a friend from out of town. First time for all of us and we got seated quickly. Ordered chicken and waffles but can't recommend them. The waffle was soft and mushy although cooked. Kind of like it might have been sitting and not fresh to the plate. Like it was steamed or something; it was the end of the breakfast service. The chicken was seasoned a bit differently then I was expecting. Food is fantastic, but I will probably never be back. They treated me and my partner absolutely horrible. They ignored us, especially the person that was at the bartender. It was a lady and the man at the cashier. All I wanted was to get a mock tail and they had to tell me how they were about to close in 30 minutes and they completely ignored us. I had high hopes and wish i could've gave a better review but this was a very disappointing experience. My party of 4 arrived and were told there was a 30 minute wait. We were fine with that until 50 minutes had passed in which i asked the host for an update and was told they were not sitting anyone so the kitchen can catch up on orders. At this point we realized we were not going to be seated soon and wouldn't receive food within the next hour as the tables already seated all seemed to not have their food yet. We also ordered the tuna melt (open face) with parm truffle fries (marvelous and not greasy like other places; crunchy outside fluffy inside with great not overpowering taste). And some avocado tacos (I wanted to add something to the tacos but the layers of flavors forbade me; weeeellllll, I did dip it in the ricotta. Hahahaha I'm so decadent.) Provisions is a breath of fresh air. I love the vibes and decorations. There's lots of BLM art and inclusivity. I appreciate that they embrace all people. Aside from the beautiful ambiance...the service was just as great. I was so unsure of what to order! I stood in front of the display gazing at everything with curious tastebuds. Had a late lunch here with my brother before going to the Vallejo Symphony concert last month. I ordered chicken and waffles and a latte. My brother ordered a tuna melt. Sorry to say, but I was disappointed with my meal. The chicken had no flavor...it was bland...lacked seasoning. The waffle was okay once I doused it with syrup. As for my brother, his tuna melt was too salty. He drank four glasses of water! I did enjoy my latte though. So I do not recommend the chicken and waffles and tuna melt. read more

Provisions in downtown Vallejo is such a cute spot with friendly service. I wasn't a fan of the chicken and waffles. The chicken portion was small. The waffles were soft and tasted savory rather than sweet. I wouldn't order this dish again. The matcha latte was also a disappointment. My girlfriend and I came here on a Saturday during the Vallejo Farmers Market. They were really busy and it took a while to get seated but the service was still really good. Finally had a chance to eat lunch at this Vallejo hot spot, last weekend, with my sister. It was very busy, but the staff were on top of their game, delivering excellent customer service to every patron. The outside seating was lovely and shaded, which was clutch for the hot weather. She looked right at me, walked away and never returned. Ok... thought maybe she didn't hear me. Asked another waitress and she immediately handed me another set up. Food arrived....chicken and waffles. Initial waitress was back, asked for extra butter.....she looked at me (thinking she acknowledged).......and again, never came back! After 5 or so minutes (waffles getting cold) got out of my outdoor seat, went into the restaurant and asked another waitress for butter. She complied. When I told the other waitress that twice it seemed I was ignored, she asked me to describe the waitress....when I did, she replied "Oh that's the owner", we try to keep her off the tables. Sometimes I think they forget there are people sitting outside lol. I had the avocado toast and I don't know why, because I don't like avocado. ‍. I think I was hoping it would taste more like guacamole, which I do like. The acme bread that they use is amazing. The toast was crispy and crunchy and I coulda just ate that. The avocado toast, though had way too much avocado and it was just avocado. No seasoning or flavor. I order my toast with bacon and an egg on top. Would've been good if it actually came with bacon. I've been to Provisions a few times and I really love the location and vibes of the establishment. The staff are all their own individual selves which is great because it exudes diversity! I always ask for Myra because she is so sweet and social. Now let's get into the food. I really love the avocado tacos! The chipotle is just the right touch of spice. When I get an appetizer I always aim for the samosas because I'm a vegetarian and know those are safe. Something about THESE samosas though. They have this delicious sauce with them and they are VEGAN. Even though I'm not vegan I don't discriminate unless the flavor is lacking, these samosas are ON POINT, hella spiced with some authenticity! Both items ten out of ten! Provisions is a great spot. Good options for vegetarians. I normally order the provisions breakfast plate, which comes with toast, eggs, and hashbrowns (also bacon, but I don't eat meat). It's a basic meal but it's the right portion size for my needs and it fits my budget. Great little breakfast. I also order the mocha with oat milk. Delicious. For lunch, I've had the black bean burger which was tasty!! I always sit outside. The space is clean/tidy. There's enough space to spread out. In the morning, it can be windy. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt and you'll be good to go. Another plus, the staff is attentive and uber friendly. Too much is going on in the world to give rude people my cash and my energy. I'm not one to write reviews. But this place is a gem! My husband and I live a few blocks away and have always heard about this place and never actually went in. As soon as you walk in you are greeted right away and are asked if you're dinning in or out, if you're dinning in they have YOU choose where you wanna sit and they follow you with their menu's with no problem. Which I thought was pretty cool :D Hubby got the butter burger which was utterly delicious! The waygu beef melts in your mouth, the truffles fries were breathtaking. I got the fried chicken sandwich and let me you it was spectacular the chicken was nice and juicy and definitely crispy, sometimes when you get a chicken sandwich with coleslaw it gets soggy. BUT not with this sandwich the chicken stayed nice and crispy! We also got cappuccinos and they were wonderful especially for the gloomy weather it was super comforting. But let me tell you about their service! Oh my gosh the service was 10/10 all the lovely ladies that are working there had no problem checking up on tables that weren't theirs. We got checked on by our waitress and checked on by 3 other workers making sure we were okay, refilling our water, asking if our food was good, making sure we had utensils, our any extra condiments. Nicole and Kyle offer fun dinner competitions, summer time outdoor eatery and gets a crowd together to laugh and come together. Date nights or office meetings it's the place to be. Again the food is scrumptious grilled cheese,avocado tacos, teriyaki bowls even vegan plant based Chicken Samosas! 10/10 Atmosphere is happening like the vibe there. There's games to play if you want so when taking the kids they're having fun. You can eat inside or outside. The new bar area is nice if you just want to have a drink or two.
