I could eat the Le Jardin sandwich every day and never tire of it! It's that good. And the olive bread is the best I've ever had!

I was waiting for a too good too go order and I wandered into this section. It seemed interesting,…read more and as an italian I was curious. Then this super rude lady with glasses comes out and starts with "we're closing". Then says "especially if you you're not going to buy anything"? Excuse? I never said I wasn't going to buy anything, but you bet I'm never buying from them now. TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. DO NOT SHOP THERE. IF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT BAD HOW CAN YOU TRUST THEM WITH WHAT YOU CONSUME? RUN.

The Crushed Olive is a small chain of gourmet olive oil and vinegar shops that opened in Hickory,…read moreNorth Carolina in 2010. It was founded by husband and wife Bob and Mona Rossero. Bob had owned the Colony Lounge in Huntington Station, New York for 30 years. He and his wife Mona (a former medical transcriber) then retired to North Carolina. On a trip to Northern California, the two discovered a shop that sold infused olive oils and vinegars. They decided to bring the concept to North Carolina and opened their first location there in 2010. A year later, they opened a flagship store in Huntington, New York and more locations would open throughout Long Island in the following years. In 2013, the Rosseros sold off their original Hickory location in order to concentrate on their Long Island locations. Each location offers more than two dozen varieties of flavor-infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Today the small chain has five locations in Huntington, Babylon, Sayville, Stony Brook, and Commack. My wife and I visited the Crushed Olive's Port Jefferson location (now closed) in October 2018. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary on Long Island with a private limousine tour of the North Fork Wine Trail. We discovered the Crushed Olive while exploring all of the quaint shops in Port Jefferson. All of the various oils and vinegars are stored in gleaming stainless steel containers with taps called "fustis". Customers are encouraged to sample the oils and vinegars with cubes of fresh Italian bread from a local baker. Some of our favorite olive oils we sampled included the Blood Orange, Eureka Lemon, Olive Wood Smoked, and Tuscan Herb. Some of the balsamic vinegars we enjoyed included the Black Cherry, Dark Chocolate, Fig, and Pomegranate. We purchased some small bottles to take home. We have since ordered other bottles online and had them shipped to our house, including their 18 Year Traditional Balsamic Vinegar that is aged in oak barrels in Modena, Italy for 18 years. We will continue to order more delicious oils and vinegars from the Crushed Olive for years to come!

Wow, Just wow! I…read moreget migraines from almost all food additives and have been baking and cooking for myself from scratch since I was a teenager to be able to enjoy homemade versions of conventional treats and this place is one of the only spots I can truly say is like homemade everything. It's incredible. The pies, the soups, the loafs, the pies, the breads, the COOKIES.... just wow. I appreciate this place so much! If you like a chewy brownie those chewy chocolate chip cookies are going to be a fav for you. The butter cookies are also soooo good! And the carrot loaf! Honestly anything you get is going to be great. And the plus is the adorable house decor, stuffed animals, hand made toiletries, and grocery items. So many lovely gift options. And the kids section has the cutest little animal puppets too. I couldn't recommend this place more. It's a true gem and a gift to the area.

Great selection and great service…read more Walked in with very little knowledge of cheese. I kind of knew what I wanted, but went in curious. There's a big selection of cheeses on display. Minimum weight to buy is 1/4 lb. Card is accepted on purchases over $15 Staff were very kind and patient in explaining the cheeses and letting us sample some before choosing. Walked out with the cheese I wanted and another one that interested me when sampling. Interior is a bit smaller, but stock full of items. Cheeses, cold meats, crackers and other shelf items available. Will definitely revisit, great array of specialty cheeses to choose from, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good vibes all around

It's one of those cheese shops where you'll smell the cheese before you see it- that wafting smell is indeed incredible haha. There is a very generous selection of cheeses here & I'm sure anyone can find a cheese that they like (& if you don't like cheese, whyyyy)! The employee & I believe owner Abraham was amazing & super attentive & patient with my indecisiveness. I chose a variety of cheeses to take home with my favorite easily being the 3 year aged comté. All in all, albeit this cheese shop is a bit secluded it's worth the visit!
