I was moving out of state and needed to cancel the service because I'd no longer need it at my new place. The first time I called to cancel, I spoke to someone who seemed to be a manager, because she offered me all of these perks to stay, including a deferment of my payments until I figured out if I wanted to stay or not. I thought I was getting a deal, until a few months went by and I realized I really did not need the service and needed to cancel. I called customer service, knowing I still had 9 months left in my contract, but my equipment was paid off so it should just be an easy cancellation with an early termination fee. I was wrong. 3 hours later, 10 support agents and 4 departments later, each one repeating the same offers and not communicating between agents, even after I firmly declined them all and said I just wanted to pay the money and be done with it -- I finally was able to pay the termination fee or "buyout" fee and get off the phone. They had me on an initial wait of about 45 mins, and then each agent kept asking for the same information or just wasn't aware of what I was trying to do, and it got to the point where I realized they are trained to drag out the process. IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL WITH THEM, THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT QUICKLY IS TO ESCALATE. Do not let them have you on the phone for hours like they had me! They will have you on the phone for hours, just to submit an email cancellation request. The email you need to cancel your account is : documents@vivint.com and this is the information you need to provide or they will not respond or process the request: Name: Service Address: Service Number: Reason for Cancellation: WILL NEVER RETURN TO THAT COMPANY EVER AGAIN. The tech asked if we wanted a new one since it was under warranty, or he could GLUE IT BACK TOGETHER! New one, please! Trying to reach someone to get customer support is such a time suck. It's a toss up. I would never recommend this company. NEVER! Looking forward to getting back with a reputable security and smart home service.

Our experience was terrible from the beginning. We spent around SEVEN HOURS dealing with the salesperson and installer on the first day, and the installation still wasn't finished. The system never properly worked for us. The installer left screws on the floors of our home despite knowing we have pets and a one-year-old child. There was a hole left in our wall, equipment was left disconnected/not working, and they drilled into the exterior brick of our house. The plug for one of the outdoor cameras also became extremely hot, to the point that I was concerned it could be a fire hazard. One of the strangest parts happened around 11 PM when the installer TEXTED ME asking me to send him the code I had received to review the installation so that he could complete the install review himself. I still have the text messages showing this. The sales process was equally concerning. We were not clearly told that the equipment was being financed or that there would be a hard credit inquiry. I did not understand that this transaction was going to involve financing and a hard pull on my credit based on how it was presented to us. After everything that happened, we canceled within the three-day cancellation window. I documented the cancellation through multiple methods. Despite that, the equipment is still sitting in our home and we have had an extremely difficult time getting Vivint to deal with the situation. From the sales process, to the installation, to the safety concerns, to the review-code incident, to the experience after cancellation, this has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. I have kept the emails, cancellation documentation, photographs, call records/recordings, and text messages from the installer because the entire experience has been so concerning. I absolutely would not recommend Vivint based on our experience.

Absolutely horrible experience with Home Alarm LLC. From the beginning, communication was misleading, promises weren't followed through on, and getting straight answers became nearly impossible once paperwork was signed. Trying to cancel or get assistance turned into a complete runaround. The sales tactics felt extremely pushy, and after installation, support suddenly disappeared. Calls went unanswered, messages ignored, and every conversation seemed to lead to another excuse. I was left feeling trapped in a contract I no longer wanted, while nobody seemed interested in actually helping resolve the issue professionally. If you value honesty, transparency, and customer service, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere before doing business with this company. This has easily been one of the most frustrating consumer experiences I've dealt with in years. Useless equipment and broken promises aren't even my issue, the customer service is nonexistent. I am still in my cancelation period and there's no response.

Pushy and full of himself, fast talking BS and interrupts and speaks over you. The install was horrid, the 2 cameras and free install he promised was NOT done and excuse after excuse, offered a stupid door lock instead that wasn't installed correct (it was crooked) so the door wouldn't lock completely, tried to call John severals times, left messages and just silence. No one called back and he never responded until we texted him that we ARE SEEKING legal counsel with this bait and switch practice they are pulling. When he finally did respond he was again so full of himself he wouldn't listen to reason that what he promised did NOT happen and the fact that my 93 year old mother couldn't possibly get to the panel in time or a bad fall in the process meant nothing to him. No empathy or understanding of that possibility was just plain rude and unsympathetic to an old lady falling and really hurting herself. I was furious. ADT was even worse trying to fix the issues these "authorised Dealers" caused. It was a nightmare from start to end. We are going to take this to ADT CEO and let him know exactly what their dealers are pulling on hard working Americans. Shameful and uncalled for. We are good people who were taken advantage of and we won't forget it. Now we are stuck with crappy equipment that doesn't work, the door sensors keep falling off the doors and if I could take a sledge hammer to the panel I would. Run far and fast from this fraud Co. bc the settlement should never have even got to that point. Bad lousy business practice, that should be all you need to know to stay far far away!!

Choose another alarm company I am filing this complaint because Brinks Home has failed to provide the life-safety monitoring service that I contracted for and has repeatedly failed to correct the problem. I originally had an Alarm.com security system through another provider. When that company went out of business, I contacted Alarm.com for recommendations and was provided with several authorized dealers in my area. Brinks Home was the first company to respond, so I chose them. My existing Alarm.com system was already installed and working. Brinks simply took over the monitoring service and installed one additional device--a monitored smoke detector. This was especially important to me because my home has previously experienced a fire, and I wanted the peace of mind that a properly functioning monitored smoke detector would immediately notify the fire department in the event of another emergency. Within days of installation, the newly installed smoke detector began malfunctioning. The alarm panel repeatedly beeped, and I could not silence it. After contacting Brinks, technical support remotely silenced the panel but did not resolve the underlying problem. I was then instructed to replace the batteries in a smoke detector that had been installed only a few days earlier. Although I followed those instructions, the detector began malfunctioning again just hours later. Since then, I have scheduled two separate service appointments to have the issue repaired. On both occasions, I rearranged my schedule and took time away from work to be home for the technician. Brinks canceled both appointments, leaving the problem unresolved. Each time I have contacted customer service, I have experienced lengthy hold times, multiple transfers, and representatives who were unable to provide a solution. When I attempted to cancel my service because Brinks has not provided a functioning monitored fire alarm system, I was told I might have to pay cancellation fees or was offered discounts instead of having the issue resolved. After three weeks, I still do not have confidence that the monitored smoke detector is functioning properly. This is not simply an inconvenience. A monitored smoke detector is a life-safety device, and I believe Brinks has failed to meet its responsibility to provide the reliable service it contracted to provide. I have made every reasonable effort to allow Brinks to correct this problem. Instead, I have experienced repeated cancellations, poor communication, and no meaningful resolution. I have completely lost confidence in Brinks Home's ability to provide dependable monitoring or customer service. I am requesting the following resolution: * Immediate cancellation of my Brinks Home agreement. * A complete waiver of any cancellation or early termination fees. * A refund of the charges I have paid for a service that has not been properly provided. * Written confirmation that my account has been closed and that I have no further financial obligation to Brinks Home. I am not seeking anything beyond a fair resolution. I simply want to end my relationship with a company that has failed to deliver the service it promised and move to a provider that can provide reliable monitored fire protection for my home.

Initial Installation was shoddy with wires running across my garage ceiling and holes drilled from interior to exterior of the house because they can't go into attics anymore. Equipment has not fully worked in 2 years. Even with paying for the extra protection plan they require you to go through over an hour of troubleshooting with hard to understand foreign operators before they will send out a tech, unless you want to pay another $100. Techs have been out 3 times and within days something doesn't work. Over the last 2 years I've spent 10 or more hours on the phone and several days missing work trying to get a security system that works. In this last phone call I was kept on the phone while they "tried to schedule an appt" every 10 minutes the operator would pop back off of hold and offer to sell me something else. A new doorbell camera, solar panels and guess what?! A new higher tier coverage plan that will somehow cover my faulty equipment better. When I finally told them I don't want any new equipment when the stuff I have doesn't work. Immediately the operator said ok well your date will be xyz. So 40 minutes of waiting that was for sales pitches when they had the next appt sitting right there. I don't care if it ever works at this point. Just don't do it. It isn't worth the hassle.
