I love the REI in Garden City. Every employee, literally everyone, is so kind and helpful. They are…read morewilling to go the extra mile and never seem "bothered". REI has great outdoor brands and a decent selection. Prices range and things can be on the higher-end but it's no more expensive than the manufactures sites. I also appreciate that as a member I get perks like cash back, extended returns, etc.

Still five stars. We came in looking for a number of things. Kind of a scouting mission. REI has…read moreplenty to offer for hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, and more. We are looking for, among other things, a smaller tent (ours is huge) that we can easily lug around with us and REI has a large selection. We signed up for their membership several years ago. Just tell them your phone number when making a purchase and you get credit for the purchase. We picked up a UV protective t-shirt as a gift for someone. It was reasonably priced imho, very soft and moisture wicking. Brilliant. I should probably get myself one too. BTW, the company no longer offers bags. None. So bring a reusable bag if you plan to shop here. It's just another way to reduce waste and be a good steward. Some of the prices can be high, but not everything. They sell Patagonia which is an expensive brand, as well as other, more moderately priced items. You just have to know what you want and what you are willing to pay. If you check out the bulletin board upstairs, they offer guided excursions that look really fun. I check out their selection of hiking poles as I am looking to buy some. Everything from really reasonable basic models to foldable, light weight pricey models. So you have options. They have pet items. Personal care items. Clothes and shoes are upstairs. So many types of water bottles. Camping items for both the thru-hiker and the car-camper. Check them out. They are a good resource and the staff are friendly and happy to assist.

Absolutely fantastic customer service!…read more My partner got an ebike last year after contacting different bike shops throughout 4 New-England states and essentially gave up on finding a shop that had substantial knowledge of ebikes or decent customer service, so I was nervous when I started doing my own ebike shopping. I found the ebike I wanted after doing a LOT of research online, and found that Mission Electric was one of the closest dealers for the bike I wanted (Gazelle brand). Tyler the owner is absolutely wonderful. He has been incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable about ebikes, and was actually the first person running a bike shop that could answer all my ebike questions! He went above and beyond to make sure I got the best experience possible in buying and riding my new bike. When I had questions after I had ordered my bike, Tyler was always quick to get back with me and make sure I was being taken care of. If you are in the market for an ebike, I highly, highly recommend you check out Mission Electric. P.S. I love my new bike -- totally worth the money and the 2.5 hr trip to Providence.

Because of the misunderstanding they offered us a 50% discount for the future, which we were excited to use. We planned another trip up and when I called, Steve advised me to book the reservation and he'd apply the discount afterwards. We rented 2 e-bikes for $200, and had a nice day riding around the north shore. At the time we picked them up, Steve mentioned that he owed us the discount. We dropped them off at the end of the day and everything seemed good. Unfortunately it was never applied I've heard zilch from Steve since then. I've emailed multiple times about it and gotten no response. At this point it's been a month. Presumably since we've paid he just doesn't care? In the end, we had been willing to pay full price the first time around, but it's really disappointing to get a bait-and-switch like this.

I was told to come back tomorrow. I tried calling the next day, but nobody answered the phone so I showed up they didn't remember me. I told him I had purchased a scooter yesterday with my coworker, and then they went to look for it and they said it still wasn't ready and they needed to charge it . I came back the following day called again. No answer showed up didn't know who I was again reminded him an went to get my scooter ready for me to take one problem, though there was no charger with the brand new scooter. He could not find it. So he gave me a charger from behind the counter fast forward to today, May 5, 2026. I tried calling again no answer so I drove in. Doors were locked. Lights are on went to the front and back entrance. No sign of anyone one last check I see the guy who sold me the scooter in the window. I motion to him to come over. He comes over. he lets me in. I tell him about my scooter, he tells me to bring it in. I told him the back brake is no longer working, and my rear tire was making a grinding noise. He told me I could leave it to fill out my information before leaving. I asked him when he thought somebody would be able to take a look at it and he told me about a month. He stated the technician wasn't in today and that they had a backlog of scooters that needed to be repaired, which he pointed to in the corner and then told me there was multiple down in the basement of the same model. I told him that wasn't an option for me to wait over a month and that the scooter is still under warranty for another five months he tried to refer me to a scooter shop in Cambridge, which I live nowhere near and not paying for something that was under warranty. I then asked him what to do and he told me to call Segway the scooter company. And then again referred me to the scooter shop in Cambridge, which I had to reiterate that was not an option and I am not paying for something that is still under warranty. I asked him for Segway's number which he told me he did not have and to "Google it". My only dealings with this place twice have not been good and not the best customer service to say the least. Scooters were $1100 with tax and are under warranty for another five months and they are telling me I have to wait over a month to even get it looked at. Unacceptable!

With my…read morenew job I quickly realized to keep my sanity I was going need to lessen some of my 2 + hours commute (each way) by not driving the entire way, and instead use the local train and bike the remainder to the office. When the shipment arrived I found the workmanship to be very good, a solid bike for sure...although a bit on the heavy side at around 30 lbs..... But it was well made for sure.... Sadly, there was some cosmetic damages that happened in the shipment, but the folks at Dynamic went beyond what I was expecting and rushed new parts to me and even offered to pay for any labor should I want to take it to a local bike repair shop and have them do the installs. As it turned out my job relocated me to our other facility right across from the train station. So all I have to do now is drive to where I get on the train and then walk across the street at the other end.... No need for the bike now.... Thankfully since this change took place within the 30-day allowable return period I was able to return the entire bike, replacement parts and all......The credit was handled within a few days after it arrived back to Dynamic...Patrick and his crew were GREAT to work with and were understanding and helpful with everything.... EXCELLENT customer service!!!
