Thank you Josh Menashe for showing up for a same day estimate at my parents house. There was water damage and my (elderly) parents had been taken advantage of previously. Josh was reasonable with his assessment of the reconstruction needed and the team showed up on time and did a great job. I highly recommend this company. read more

We had Josh and his team do two bathrooms and Windows in our home. The work was completed in a timely manner just waiting for a couple of more things to be completed. There were a few hiccups they had to redo shower shelves, some patches that were done was very poor quality. They had to come back out and fix them but did a good job. They did all of the work as promised and we were happy with it. I took off one star because the crews that came out were not very clean. They left debris and drywall on my newly painted house and sidewalk. Other than that I would highly recommend Josh and his team. Thanks Josh. read more

Horrible service. Their employee Josh flat out cancelled at the last minute (which I suspect he was just too lazy to drive to give the estimate), and left us hanging in a real bind. I spoke with Lisa at the office, and she could care less. Avoid these flaky people and the company. We hired someone else (who actually showed up) but it cost us extra as we had to rush the job for an home inspection. read more

Protex Construction did a great job following through on everything they promised from the beginning. The owner Josh is solid individual who I felt comfortable with right away. He knew what he was talking about and put my wife and I at ease with the project at hand. Our kitchen turned out GREAT! They're dependable, on time and hands on. Thank you Protex! read more

Protex Construction did a fantastic job. The owner and manager, Josh, was so helpful in presenting options and giving the best information so that I could make appropriate decisions. I can't say enough good things about this company. I contacted a few contractors for a complete kitchen remodel. After interviewing many we went with Protex. Protex had workers on the job when they said they would. Work progressed at my house quickly because Josh, the owner made sure workers arrived daily and worked a full day. He was very responsive to our requests and made sure the few issues that arose were taken care of quickly. After construction wrapped I noticed a small issue with my light fixtures. You'd think since payment had been made it would be hard to get a hold of someone to get the issue corrected but no! Josh answered my call immediately and came over himself to correct the issue. It ended up that new materials were needed and Josh took care of ordering the materials and making sure they were installed correctly when they came in. You may be able to find someone cheaper but I truly believe you get what you pay for. I wouldn't hesitate to utilize this company again. read more

I have not chosen a contractor for my project but wanted to review the estimation process. Josh accommodated my hectic schedule and was even EARLY! He was very friendly and patient with my items that I needed done. He sent me a quote a few days later. We are waiting for additional bids from other contractors. read more

Josh and crew did a great job on building our covered patio. His crew was very professional and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Josh was very knowledgeable with regards to architectural plans and was able to handle a significant (and unforeseen) change during construction. Overall, the project was completed on time and within budget. We would definitely bring them back for any future projects. read more

Protex Construction just complete a stucco project at our home. The finished project was completed on time, under budget and was much better than I could have ever imagined. Crew arrived early, was polite, respectful and professional. Their experience was evident in the quality of their work. I would not hesitate to recommend Protex to any home or business. I will definately be a returning customer. read more

We just had our living room updated with new drywall & texture. The Protex team was awesome. It's not very often you get a professional company that is good, fast, and affordable, but Josh and his team was all of that and more. If you're looking for a great contractor, the search is over. I honestly do not even know where to begin. My mother and I are from Northern California and my grandmothers home that we inherited was in Redlands. Needless to say this house was "tore up from the floor up"....Literally! Knowing that this home needed a major renovation and living 1000 miles away, we needed someone that knew what they were doing and that would be honest. After interviewing a couple of contractors it was Josh's turn to be interviewed. I knew within the first five minutes of meeting him he was the contractor for us. He takes professionalism to a whole other level. His creativity was very impressive, and we could tell he was just an honest good working man. Having to do a whole house renovation and living on the other side of California was not an issue for Josh! He made weekly contact through email, text, and sent pictures on a regular basis to report his progress! He stayed on budget, the quality of his work was 100%, and there was never a moment where he appeared to be unorganized. He was a Godsend, and we were blessed to have him do this massive project for us. The entire house is now beyond beautiful! You can not go wrong with Josh and Protex construction. Your search is over! Call Josh! read more

They did a great job on our basement remodel. They built out walls over the cinder block, handled drywall and electrical and did the tile floors. Overall were timely and affordable compared to the other contractors i spoke to. Highly recommended. read more

Josh and his team have completed several tasks around our home and each of them has been done in a prompt manner and according to our expectations. Everything from painting to installing an appliance to electrical work...Josh has proven himself to be an honest and very reliable contractor. This review is long overdue. I unfortunately had a large water leak in my kitchen that caused a lot of damage. When looking for a contractor to do my work I came across protex and had Josh come out to give me a bid. From day one my wife and I were impressed with his professionalism and understanding of our situation. I hired Josh to do my work and I couldn't be happier. Josh and his team were awesome. Art did an amazing job along with the flooring guys. Each and every person who came into my house was nothing but professional, kind, and understanding. They worked with my crazy schedule and understanding of my little kids. Josh worked with my insurance and was able to handle any problem that arose. I can't say enough about the work they did and how they treated my family along the way. Thanks Josh, Art, and the rest of the protex team. read more

I had Josh do a complete remodel to my house in Irvine after I bought a house that was built in 80's and had never been touched. Josh and his team did a complete overhaul on the first floor - new kitchen, powder room, fireplace, tile throughout and a some wall relayout. On second floor they did completely new master and spare bath, replaced a few windows & installed can lights and pull down attic stairs. The protex quote was the most reasonable of 5 quotes obtained, was very detailed and most importantly, josh stood behind the bid and there were no hidden costs or "surprises". They were very up front if any of our change requests involved additional cost - they told us so. The work was high quality and more than met our expectations. The only issue we had, if I had to pick something to complain about, was that our job took a while to complete as we were assigned to a project manager part way into the construction when Josh was out of country. Finally, I would like to note that we called josh about a year and 1/2 after completion of the job to address some minor issues we had - a mirror had come out of wall, cabinet and master shower doors needed to be adjusted, roof tiles had come loose, etc. Josh didn't hesitate - they had someone out in a week to fix these items. I rated Josh and Protex a 5 as they have stood behind their quality. I strongly recommend Protex for your remodeling needs. read more

I had Josh come out to do measurements about four weeks ago. Josh was very nice and came out for about an hour. I followed up twice and still have never received a quote. read more

Made an appointment for them to come due some work at my house. Appointment time comes and goes. I call them back and they never put my appointment in the schedule. They were very apologetic but made little effort to work around my schedule to try and come back out since I had already been off of work the day it was scheduled for. 2 stars because they were still friendly and apologetic but lower score for not trying to make up for the mistake. Long story short of you book an appointment call and confirm the day before. read more

While in Diamond Bar interviewing contractors, I knew immediately that Josh of Protex Construction would be the one to do our project - transforming part of our three car garage into a bedroom for our aging mother who could no longer climb up the stairs to her second floor bedroom. He was he knowledgable about the work that needed to be done and his estimate reasonable. But just as he was about to leave, I happen to ask him about how to tighten a loose kitchen faucet that I was unfamiliar with. I was going to tighten it myself but without my asking, Josh insisted in doing it for me. It wasn't easy but he did it. What a nice guy. But his niceness did not stop there. After beginning the job there was some permit problems with the building department and some changes to the plans (as can be expected with our family committee of six siblings overseeing the project) With four of us living out of town it made the coordination even more difficult. Nevertheless, Josh patiently worked out all of the problems and changes and saw the project through to completion. We are very happy with the final results and can sincerely give the highest recommendation possible to Josh and his workers of Protex Construction - a rare end to any story about working with contractors. We would certainly call on on Josh and Protex Construction again for any future work. In my opinion, they are the best. read more

I have used Protex three times on two different properties and I have been thoroughly satisfied with the quality of the work and the people that I dealt with! The employees were always on time, very polite, and were dilligent in their work. The work has ranged from repairing a second floor shower leak in a primary residence to the restoration of a rental property (drywall, paint, light fixtures, etc). If you're looking for a trustworthy contractor that does the work he says he's going to do in the time frame he gives you, Protex is for you! read more

I am incredibly disappointed. Josh came out and seemed to be a really nice guy but after he left we never heard back from him even after I sent an email inquiring into his bid. read more

Josh and his PM Joe were fantastic! They helped take out 4 interior walls and put up a support beam in my kitchen. We were under a huge time crunch since my wife was expecting very soon. They completed the project on time and whenever an issue arose they were really responsive and sent someone out immediately to address. Can tell they were really professional. read more

Josh under promised and over delivered. The main part of our project was done in a week! The painting was a bit of a hurdle, but we fixed the issues. He estimated 3 weeks and we could have been done in two if everything else had been ready. Our carpet was coming out of Georgia, our railings were custom, we just did not anticipate Josh delivering so quickly. Mariseo is awesome and a true artist. Every time we had a concern Josh handled it the next day and Josh is unflappable. Never reactive, only proactive and serene. We would recommend Josh and plan to use him again on the next project. His team is great from construction to architecture is really good quality. Best of all, it doesn't look like an addition, it looks like it was all part of the original design! read more

If I could give more stars, I would. We were so impressed with Josh and his crew through every step of our construction/remodel. I didn't believe him when he said he could add a bedroom, a loft, and an upstairs laundry enclosure AND remodel my kitchen and downstairs bathroom in 4 weeks. Not only did he do it in 4 weeks, he did it on budget and exceeded our expectations in the quality of the work. It was a stressful time for me and my husband. I was 9 months pregnant when work began and came home with a 5 day old infant when it was completed. Josh made the whole process as stress-free as possible. Not only is he a great contractor but a very considerate person as well. He was able to give us suggestions on how to save money and even figured out how to make an upstairs laundry work even when the architect couldn't. We HIGHLY recommend Protex for any project big or small. Everyone who has seen my home (especially my beautiful kitchen) wants Josh's info. We will definitely use his services again. read more

We love Protex! Josh and his crew are trustworthy, competent, attentive, talented, clean, friendly, efficient, and even affordable! They showed up when they said and were always on time! They stayed right on their estimate for the jobs! Josh called right after to make sure we were completely satisfied with the job and needed anything else! Which we didn't because the job was perfect! We had them install a stone wall on our mantle...it is gorgeous! Totally makes our fireplace wall pop! Josh did a great job creating it based on our idea...he took it and ran with it! We've gotten so many compliments on it and they finished it in record time! They also installed lighting outlets, painted rooms in our house, and completed it remarkably fast! We plan on using them again soon and are so glad to have found a reliable and trustworthy contractor! That's hard to come by! read more

I am new to California and didn't have a great way to start finding a contractor other than Yelp, which is how I found Josh and Protex. Not only was Josh thoughtful in his ideas and incredibly kind, he was flexible in his plans and reasonably priced in his bid. The teams Josh hired were fantastic - smart or naive - we left all the teams alone in our home with zero worries and zero repercussions for our decisions. The work was fantastic, the crews were great in workmanship and respect of our home, very professional in every aspect, and no one batted an eye when we changed our minds more than once. We will be using Protex again and highly recommend Josh and his teams. read more

We highly recommend Protex for home renovation ~ Josh is a man with great integrity and completes his projects in a conscientious manner. Workers in the construction industry are often known for their careless time management but Protex has personnel that is very timely and very trustworthy which was so appreciated during our master bath, & children's bathroom projects. Josh and his team walled in some pass-ways for me in my dining room/living room. I was VERY pleased with the quickness of the job. There were there when they said they were going to be there and very very nice! They were very clean and they even cleaned my floor with a damp towel from drywall dust before they left!! I would HIGHLY recommend them for ALL of your construction needs!! We are happy to say that they are the best and can't wait for them to do more work at our house!!!! THANKS JOSH! read more

Josh and his Protex team did a phenominal job in remodeling/upgrading our condo in Aliso Viejo. He didn't just "take our order", but rather, he recommended low cost but high value changes he could make that would increase the value of the place (not to mention make it much nicer to live in)! The result -- excellent work quality, on schedule, and at or below the cost promised. I would recommend Josh and Protex without hesitation. read more

Josh and Protex construction did an awesome job with our garage conversion and interior remodeling. He was prompt, friendly and his quote was fair and reasonable. Protex recently finished a two-room addition to our house. After getting 6 bids, Josh was the most professional and his estimate was highly competitive. His sub-contractors were also as professional and as skillful as he is. What really impressed me is how organized Josh is; there was never any "down time. Everyday there was someone working on the project. The add-on was organic to the existing structure and one could never tell it wasn't part of the original structure. My family loves the new rooms. Most importantly, Josh completed the project on time (which everyone said couldn't be done) and within our budget!!!! I couldn't recommend Protex highly enough. read more

Protext recently converted a loft to bedroom for us and we are really happy with the results. Very prompt on the quote and start of construction. I had a few items on a home inspection that came up during escrow while selling my Upland home. I called Protex on a Monday about obtaining an estimate from them and Lisa told me "Thursday would be the soonest that he'd be able to go to your house." I had not heard from them on Thursday so I called and the story changed, Lisa told me that she said to me that Josh "might" be able to get out there on Thursday. She told me she would call me back. She did not call me back, she did not respond to my email Friday morning so I had to call her Friday evening. She then told me they were going to decline the estimate due to work load. That's fine...but why was I not told this on Monday? They wasted 5 days of my time which is critical during a 30 day escrow period. Now I am in a position where I am out of time to get another estimate. Can't speak for their work because they totally blew me off and were not upfront when I called them, I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

We can't say enough good things about Josh and his team. This spring, we had three contractors (including Josh) come out to give us estimates for a loft addition to our home - Josh stood out from the beginning with his warm, genuine demeanor and prompt estimate that was straightforward and honest. One of the other contractors never got back to us at all, and the third took constant reminders and follow up, while Josh was right on top of things. The loft addition itself took only 7 business days, and looks absolutely outstanding. The team was always on time, clean, and courteous. Our 2.5 yo son also adores Josh and we didn't feel intruded on at all as he was so personable and accommodating to our schedule and needs. With any issue that arose, he took care of them immediately without any stress or cost to us. His efficiency, honesty, and work ethic are outstanding. He is not your "typical contractor' by any means and will get things done on time (or ahead) of schedule and be completely honest. Our final bill came in right online, if not a bit below, his estimate. We couldn't be happier with the finished loft and will definitely use Protex Construction for all our home improvement needs in the future. read more
