We had a great experience with Protection Plus from start to finish. Brandon, the project manager, personally helped us with the scheduling and quote and took the time to walk us through the entire process with clear explanations, which made everything feel easy and well-organized. Scheduling was smooth, the installers arrived right on time, and the installation itself was excellent. The team was polite, professional, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves. Overall, a seamless and very positive experience. Highly recommended! read more

Would not recommend this service. My security system failed to connect and communicate with the server. Called tech support and no one has returned my call for 3 days. Mickey Mouse operator, use a respected and large security firm to protect your home. read more

I thought I was getting a top of the line Korean system that would be trouble free. Installation was clean, but the system didnt work 100% from the start. A second follow up appt was late ( 3pm vs 630Pm) with no communication on a window of time prior to, just a start time. Even now i can't get my wife's phone onto the system. Communication was the sticking point with this install. The Installers ( Subcontractors) admitted to never having worked with this camera system before when they could figure out how to makethe speaker function work. While an install like this SHOULD be complete in one full day, issues happen. But to waste my day waiting on a 3 pm follow up start, getting a call at 4 pm to show up at 630pm is just not professional. Also, my phone was blamed by PP as per the estimator, for the intial problem with the speaker function in th camera. I didnt change a thing. The App for Lumisys is not very easy to navigate, not friendly at all. Lack of training on the installed system and lack of communication has lead to a frustrated customer who will not recommend Protection plus to anyone and , in fact, will warn against them any chance I get. Life is to short, do not waste my time , especially when I pay top dollar. Did I mention PP was the most expensive quote? Double the cheapest one I recieved. Sometimes you do not get what you paid for. 2 stars only because the physical install was super clean. read more

I have been with this company for the last four years and it has been a disappointment from the beginning. From being oversold at my consultation. From buying bad product that 3 to 4 years later, they refunded me because the owner or the manager admitted it was a faulty product, and they were no longer carrying them because of the problems they had with them. From being in comfortable with their service technicians. They blamed me in the end and said that I was not happy and they were discontinuing my service and leaving me high and dry. I am left with faulty equipment and no monitoring and to boot. They wanted me to pay $245 for the last visit that the sensor is still not working and they're telling me it's MAYBE an environmental problem. It's taking me about a month to write this review because I did not want to be emotional. I just want it to be factual. Their last visit in my home wants to fix And it was not fixed. I had to call them back within a few weeks. I was not comfortable with the technician they sent and I asked them not to send him back. Sure enough they sent the same technician to fix the problem, and I refused him entry to my home. When someone tells you they are not comfortable in the presence of someone it should be taken seriously when I then brought it up when speaking with the general manager he said he never heard about it, of course he would say that. I told him look at your logs when I called in the office and said I will not let him in send someone else, which they never did.. February 26, 2021 Never trust or use this company (Protection Plus) located at 11-1540 Loadstar Rd, Toronto, ON, M3J 3C1. I've had problems with their company and their so-called-service since November 2019 and no one bothered to get in touch with-me regarding it. They charged me for a service they did not provide as Allan Baum, President, told me on December 17, 2020 that they had it deactivated, which means they did not receive any signal from my system for over a year. A technical difficulty they didn't bother to notice but yet continued to bill me for services-not-rendered. On December 17, 2020 at 9:22am I set off the alarm system to see if they would respond. It went off for 8 minutes; no response from Protection Plus whatsoever and that's when I phoned to speak with Allan Baum, President. A lot can happen in 8 minutes. I spoke with Allan Baum, President, to complain. That's when I told him I was testing the system and that's when he told me that it was turned off; and that's when they turned the system back on. In the meantime, they hired a collection agency to hound me like I have never been hounded in my life. Legal Credit Management Corp (LCMC) didn't look into this any further on my behalf, a customer, before believing false accusations regarding this. It appears they believed Protection Plus without any investigation on my behalf, as a threatening loud-mouth so-called 'woman' screamed and threatened me during a phone call. After my talk with Allan Baum, a half hour or so later, a guard came to my door; They sent a guard? when they knew very-well I was testing the system, which they just turned-back-on when I told them what I was doing. Would you pay for something that was not provided? And BTW, my contracted ended 10 months prior to all of this. Today, I received a notice/bill, from Protection Plus, saying that I have to pay $90.40 for a 'Private guard dispatch for false alarm'. Go figure! These unprofessional abusive people working for this company continue to harass me. Will the harassment ever end? I would never recommend this harassing and abusive company, Protection Plus, whatsoever; they obviously cannot be trusted with your home security and/or your trust! read more

I went along with Protection plus security system for adding security to my store and glad to say that it's been working great! It's been about 1 year since I got it installed. They offered a fair price and the specialties of their product were matching most of my requirements which is what attracted me to them. Their team was also very nice and easy to work with. He used the info I gave him - ostensibly to install the system - to run this "hard check" without my consent. The day the installer arrived I noticed numerous parts of the contract they wanted me to sign referenced a credit check. I refused. I called Glen back and he suggested I just cross these sections out. They did the credit check anyway. I was in the process of buying a house and my score dropped from 750 to 685 because of this one check. It cost me the house I was trying to buy. That's exactly why I would *never* have consented to a check in the first place. The system is outdated and clunky. And, trust me, if you ever need to get in touch with them for any reason be prepared to sacrifice hours of your time talking to robots, automated systems, being interrogated for your into and then being transferred over and over and over and over again because whatever you want "thats a different department." They really put the faceless in Faceless Corporation here. Trust this and the other review - avoid at all costs.

I also remember it to be relatively cheap, like $3 or so if I remember correctly. Pricing will vary depending on your type of key. Better value than Canadian Tire, which charges about $6~ flat per key. It doesn't matter if it's a mailbox or door key. I also remember the man working the counter was really nice. I've gotten a few more keys done over the year, and sometimes, I had to resort to Canadian Tire or Walmart even if I don't quite want to. Why? The only issue is they open only on weekdays and close quite early on weekdays, so I don't make it there on time.

Protection Plus roughed in the alarm system in our new home and contacted us after we moved in about installing a system. After shopping around we found their offer to be quite reasonable. Installation went very smoothly with the technician showing up on time, being very courteous and thoroughly explaining the system. Follow-up support was excellent when one of our motion sensors was not working properly. The sensor was promptly replaced under warranty when it was determined it had malfunctioned. Monitoring has been good with phone calls received immediately to check on us the few times we've accidentally set off the alarm. I have had locksmiths from Protection Plus install the security systems in my shop. Being impresses with their work, I also made them change the locks in my home because of increased burglary in our area. One thing I am positive of is that they are professionally outstanding and knowledgeable in their work. They provided us with excellent suggestions, including our budget, for our benefit.
