I also remember it to be relatively cheap, like $3 or so if I remember correctly. Pricing will vary depending on your type of key. Better value than Canadian Tire, which charges about $6~ flat per key. It doesn't matter if it's a mailbox or door key. I also remember the man working the counter was really nice. I've gotten a few more keys done over the year, and sometimes, I had to resort to Canadian Tire or Walmart even if I don't quite want to. Why? The only issue is they open only on weekdays and close quite early on weekdays, so I don't make it there on time.

However, when it comes to some services, you hope that you don't show daily love, though, or it's a sign that something that shouldn't be serviced so often is likely broken! My shoutout is for Custom Door & Lock Service. I don't recall whether it has always had this name over the years. However, the lock and key services that it provides have been there all my life. The business is located on the northeast corner of Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue in the Beaches. Well, these days, it would be considered the upper Beaches, but that sounds snooty to me. Beachers aren't like that! It is located next door to Pizza Pizza, which has also always been there all my life. The high school that I attended was blocks away. I have fond memories after a music night at the school of coming here with my parents to grab a pizza before heading home to eat it after my performance. Ah, good times! My tastebuds weren't that sophisticated back then, but I loved it. Custom Door & Lock Service was our place to get keys cut. When we lived in the Beaches, we needed keys to our apartment and the mailbox downstairs. A few years later, a door lock was installed on the main door, so we needed additional keys. My dad had all our keys made here. We never had an issue with them not working. The folks here have always been courteous and helpful when my dad needed keys. I remember coming in with him to get keys done. They cut them right on the spot. I loved watching them cut them, which still makes me happy when I see keys being cut anywhere. This place continues to offer after-hours lock and key support. If you accidentally lock yourself out of your home, they provide emergency services to get you back in your own home. Luckily, we have never had to use them, but it's peace of mind knowing that they are available. This place is still closed on weekends. If you can wait for getting new keys on Monday, you're good. Parking is limited. I recommend parking on either Kingston Road or a side street. There are a few spots behind Pizza Pizza. Alternatively, there's a parking lot across the street where there are more retail businesses. I often drive along Kingston Road to head downtown and pass by this store. I'm glad that it has endured over the decades, which shows how important it is to the Beaches and the quality of its services. (281)

Gave them a call and explained what I needed so they asked me to send some pics of the issues. I got them done right away and sent them in email. I heard back within a couple of hours. Very prompt and friendly! I then stopped by the next day and picked up a nice looking lockset and talked with the tech there about when they could come for installation. We arranged a time for them to come - they were on time and did a great job! No more sticky door and a wonderful lock and door that closes and locks properly. Totally recommend them.

The service was good and prompt I cannot complain and I agreed in advance to pay the quoted rate (which did not include tax) of $260 but I thought $200 service call and $60 labour for 10 minutes work was a lot and when i asked for a seniors discount I was told no. So if you think the price is fair I would recommend.
