We contacted Protech Garage Doors to install an upgraded Chamberlin 3/4 HP belt drive. Once again, Moe came through and installed the motor drive on Saturday the 13th of July. Moe contacted us when he was 10 minutes away and it took him about an hour or so to remove the Genie drive and install a new Chamberlin belt drive. Works perfectly and he also showed us how to use our phones to open and close the garage door! Tier one business. Moe was our tech. I needed new safety sensors for my older yet still working very well, garage door opener. Protech was my third call. First vendors I called immediately wanted to sell me a new GDO. I told them I don't need a new GDO, I need new safety sensors. One of the vendors explained that my door is to old and new sensors would not work with my outdated equipment and the other vendor needed pictures and was already suggesting that my unit needed replacing. Moe from Protech arrived to the house on time, examined my situation, then informed me there was nothing wrong with my GDO. Moe replaced the sensors on the spot. 100% these guys are awesome!!!!! my garage door spring broke this week and I called them to inquire about getting parts for the repair as I like doing my own projects. some companies will not sell the spring but they did and they had it in stock. I spoke with Mike on the phone and he was super helpful. Often times when you tell a service guy you want to do it yourself, they don't want to help you they just want to sell the parts. Mike was super helpful and gave me many tips on making the repair easier. When I later had a question about the repair he answered my phone call and was more than willing to help! Called Mike for a service to lubricate and adjust and balance the garage door. He sent a tech over the next day of the call. Very professional young man named Moe, he checked all cables, springs, lubricated the joints and cleand and adjusted the tracks. Lubricated and cleaned the drive. Readjusted the sensor lights. Our garage door was not working correctly and my husband called Protech to request support. The service rep mentioned that luckily they had someone in my area and would call when they could stop by. My husband hung up and within 1 min.... ONE MINUTE, the service tech called and mentioned he was in the area and could stop by within 5 min. From call to door was SEVEN minutes! It was amazing. On Sunday 1/1/2023 we started our New Year with a broken garage door! So, my story begins with the hiring of Protech and the cancelation of the warranty-related visitation under now poorly rated company that installed my garage springs 2 years ago. I decided to cut my losses after reading about the alleged nefarious acts the latter would conduct to keep the customer calling and paying for additional repairs . Boy did this company make me glad that I did! Mike was very friendly on the phone and came to my home from another city within 20 minutes of the call. He was careful to let me do all the badmouthing of the previously utilized company, but then promptly identified the problems with my system that the previous company either neglected to address, or (in my opinion created) to cause the garage Door wheels to come off the tracks once again. This included but was not limited to missing screws and unnatural bends in the tracks the wheels go over when the door is opened and closeed. Further, after the previous repair, my garage Door opener was basically unusable and I was advised to buy a new one. Mike discovered that in addition to the missing screws and bent track the garage door opener had been set to it's weakest setting so it didnt have the power to open the door. He corrected all of these issues and turned up the power on my opener, greased everything up, and turned the springs a couple of turns and voila...it now runs whisper quiet and like new! I 100 percent recommend paying the very reasonable price to add the bottom weather stripping to the project if yours is worn out...it was the perfect cherry on top of a perfect repair. I would recommend this man's service to anyone looking for the most honest, friendly, and reasonably priced garage repair service you could ever hope for! Thank you Mike! read more

We had a problem with our garage door, the motor was just not pulling the door up anymore, the door was unbalanced and the bearings were sqeaking. Called protech and they came out the next day. I had already purchased a new garage door opener myself, and they installed that for me, gave the spring a few turns for more tension so that the door was perfectly balanced and lubricated all the bearings. And the price was great. I would highly recommend this company. Mike was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My garage door was fully operational. However, as an elderly woman I don't like unnecessary noise. So, I explained the situation to Mike. He assured me that as a family-owned operation they were in the business to service their clients to achieve full satisfaction. My appointment was scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024 between the hours of 10 am - 12:00 noon. The brother of the owner (Mark) arrived on time with his friendly helper (Leo). They were professional and very honest. They listened to the noise I had described. Mark explained that I could get the noise fixed but it would reappear probably within 3-6 months. Mark suggested that I replace the unit for years of quiet service. My original garage door and mechanism was 25 years old. Mark explained to me that my garage door is in great condition but the two springs would probably need to be replaced in about two years. He suggested that I wait until then to replaced. I now have a new garage door opener, mounted wall door opener and two remote controls. Mark was kind enough to download a program (My Q) whereby I can access (open and close) my garage door from any location. I LOVE my NEW quiet garage door opener. The price was very reasonable especially knowing that I will get another 25 years or more of worry-free use. The team of Mark and Leo were very friendly, courteous and clean. But, the main reason for my full satisfaction is that they did not try take advantage of me by trying to sell me or replace any components I did not need. Trust me - if you need to have your garage door replaced or serviced do not call those major companies - they are in the business to make money by selling.
