I requested a person to come look at our garage door. This is a steel 2 car garage door. The current electric motor did not seem strong enough to lift the garage door at all. It was very slow and made many noises. At times, I thought the garage door was going to fall on my car!! I called Mike from Urgent Garage Doors. He came the same afternoon the day I called. For me, this was the quickest response that I have ever had for any of my jobs. Mike showed up and he was ready to work. He provided a great service to us with explanations that I could understand. First, Mike had a tool that looked like a lap top. He measured the weight and then on that program it told us what spring size should be used to lift our steel garage door. The size recommended was a 225 spring. Then he showed me our current springs. Yes. Both springs should have been the same size. No. They were both different sizes by a lot!! The spring size was bad because it caused the motor to pull unevenly. One spring was 135 and the other was 165. What a difference. Mike recommended that I change both springs to the same 225 springs. Mike did change them. The next was an update for the poor motor. I had a half HP Anytime motor. We changed the new motor to a 1 1/2 HP chain driven Lift Master. What a difference!! No more noises and an easy lift up for the garage door. This was so amazing!! Thank you Mike! I was also concerned about the bottom of the garage door seal. I wanted to be sure that we would not have any water coming in under the garage door. Mike showed me and checked the garage bottom door seal. We are now in great shape! Our garage door works amazing. We had no idea that our old garage door was working so bad. Our garage door update was truly needed. With all the work that was done to change our garage door, we were very pleased.. The quality of work, the quality of Lift Master motor and new springs installed is beyond compare. Mike responded to our call so quickly. It was a very well done job. His explanations were also great. Mike let you know what you were paying for. This update gave our home an increased value to us. No more worries either. It is a priceless sense of value. Service was friendly, helpful and informative. The J arm pulled out of the garage somehow, they charged $130 to drill it back in. Seems steep, but everyone else way quoting around $150. I did ask if I should have the bracket installed which he said it's not worth it, but everything online says you need to. I am not sure if drilling the J arm back into the door was okay or not, will keep everyone updated if it rips out again. read more

My old (25-year old) Liftmaster was starting to fail, would no longer respond to remote control request to close the door. Steve came out the same day to diagnose the problem but since it wasn't a sensor issue there wasn't a lot more he could do than replace it with a new opener. Texted him the next day to see about replacing it and he responded right away, and came out that afternoon to replace the old unit with a brand new Liftmaster and recommended I replace the wheels on the garage door, which I did. Steve completed the job quickly and efficiently, and the garage door has never been quieter and the opener works great and even has some nice wifi-enabled features. About a year ago I had Steve come out to fix my door. He quickly diagnosed that I had a broken spring. He replaced it in about 20 minutes and charged me $450. When he told me it was $450 it seemed high, but of course, I needed my door fixed, and since the company had so many good reviews, I thought it must be in the ballpark, so I agreed to it. In hindsight, I regret it, as I have discovered that that was significantly overpriced for the work that was done. This time I was prepared to walk away if it was overpriced, and I was curious to see if they were actually in the ballpark of what I would expect.
