In a world of mediocrity how often do you see a five star rating, especially for one that provides goods & service that doesn't involve food? I'm not keen on all the shills & 5 stars ratings for businesses that are really mediocre and a look at my reviews shows I am as critical & demanding as any professional reviewer; thus you can be certain you will receive superior quality service and goods from Sunwest Garage Door of Anaheim. Extremely capable, competent, professional, polite, & efficient technician Phil, his trainee Victor, & office staff Gisselle & Reece (sp?) made the replacement of just part of the segmented garage panel pleasant, yes, pleasant. I highly recommend the company and the people with whom I interacted. Note, no, I have neither a business interest in nor a relative working at Sunwest...though I wish I did have have the former. read more

Hate leaving a negative review, especially because this business was recommended by a close friend, but my experience- after today after being a customer since 2016 was absolutely horrible -high way robbery. My two car garage door was dragging up and coming down hard. The tech told me I needed a complete restoration to save the life of the motor. Quoted me $1,700 to what I learned now was to replace the cables and rollers. It was not the service he claimed to perform. I was concerned about the cost- researched online for the repair he recommended but found nothing that came close to the $1,700 quote. I decided to check in with my contractor after I authorized work, he questioned the tech about the cost of service over the phone. I sent my contractor a video of the service tech said he performed. Contractor told tech parts would be at the most $300. So Sunwest was charging me $1,400 for labor??? That's just unethical! I'm attaching their "bill of sale" that simply lists the condition of my garage door -not the work they claimed to be performing. On top of the ridiculous up charge the vendor never offered me the least expensive repair option of around $500 that's listed. I again questioned the cost and expressed that I could possibly get a new door for that much money. The tech went as far as telling me a new door, after Covid and prices rising, would cost me $6k. My contractor said he would get a complete new system installed for under $2k. In the end I refused service and asked them to restore my garage door as it was. The tech got his boss on the line and asked me to talk so we could come to some sort of discount. I refused to do business with them. And when given clear proof of their wrong doing they walked away without charging a service fee I thank my contractor who saved me from this scam of a company who in the end apologized for the over charge and didn't charge me for the mediocre job performed. read more

Sunwest Garage Door - Not an estimate showing work to be performed -just an inspection which tech asked me to sign to approve work. - Garage Door Services Near Me

From start to finish, a seamless and very satisfying customer experience. After getting a quote from a competitor (where I would have had to sell a kidney) I was referred to Phil and Sunwest Garage Door. I left a VM at 530p on Friday and to my delight, got a return call by 5.40p! Phil provided a very reasonable quote over the phone and I was able to schedule service for the next day. Gisele from the main office kept me informed about Craig's arrival, especially since he missed the intended windows of service time slot- he got stuck on an earlier job. No biggie but we had a time constraint in the late afternoon. Craig arrived and did two complete installations, reprogrammed two cars, remote controls and an outside key pad. He was able to meet our time constraint. Craig was super professional, friendly and knew his stuff. Our new LiftMaster units are Uber quiet and work like a hot damn! Oh, and the all-in price was half of the competitors. Whew! I need my kidneys. Highly recommend this firm and the entire crew. Thanks Phil! read more

I feel I overpaid for my service. I was stupid to agree with the quote, being ignorant that the parts were cheap and the required labor was only an hour. So I effectively paid about $750/hour in labor. I had used this company in the past but will not in the future. Shame on me for being ignorant. read more

Sunwest Garage Door did a fabulous job with our new garage door. Our home was built in 1939, so the garage opening was not a standard size. They were able to make it work. Gisselle was very knowledgeable about the installation process and answered all of my questions. Craig, the installer, was so polite and respectful of our home. He even swept out the garage since we still had dust/debris left over from the ongoing home renovations. He also showed me how to prevent and troubleshoot any issues that may occur through everyday use. I am so happy with the final result. It was money well spent. read more

Our garage door suddenly wouldn't open so we called Sunwest for help. In under one hour after we called them, Ryan, one of their master technicians arrived at our home to determine what the problem was. It turned out that after 25+ years of use, we were in need of a new garage door opener. Ryan presented us with our options and we decided to take his suggestion and replace the opening mechanism with a new, far more modern and quiet one. The price seemed fair, and we approved the job. It took Ryan about 1 1/2 hours to remove the old unit and replace it with a new one, and we're very happy with the results. We would not hesitate recommending Sunwest for your garage door needs. They have been in business for many years, and their work is excellent. Thank you Ryan! read more

Sunwest installed our current garage door opener. (Approximately a year and a half ago). There was an inexplicable issue with the wall button no longer working. I called Sunwest, they sent out Craig, who was the person who originally installed our unit. Craig took a look at the issue, asked me a few questions about any work we may have done on the wiring. (We don't touch anything like this on our own). He noticed a small issue related to previous alarm wiring that was causing the problem. It was fixed in minutes and he did not charge us. I'm super impressed by his knowledge, attitude and sense of fairness. I highly recommend them if you need a garage door opener or servicing. read more

Sunwest took my early 7 am phone call and gave me an appointment b/t 9 am and 2 pm. Sunwest texted me Ryan was a half hour out at 10 am. Ryan arrived at 10:30. He was prompt and courteous, and even patient with my questions. My door had come up crooked and jammed, the cable off the spools. My door had been wide open for 3 days, Ryan had it all wrapped up, dialed in, and working and looking great! Ryan is a great employee he deserves a Paid Vacation and a Raise. ( No we are not related, but he does have a Jeep, see ya at the Hammers Ryan! Thank You!) read more

Sunwest Garage door sent the technician, Ryan the same day as my call. He arrived promptly at the beginning of the appointment window. Ryan was thorough in his inspection and answered all of my questions. I was given options ranging from simple repairs to a complete new door installation. I really appreciated that. The communication with the office schedulers was excellent using both phone calls, text messages and confirmed his arrival time... again, he was prompt and right on time. He was efficient and professional, completing the job in a very timely manner. He fully explained what he was going to do, what he did do and went over safety information. I was extremely impressed with Ryan and the office staff at SunWest Garage door service and will highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors. read more

They really tried to upcharge us. We only needed a spring replaced. Be leary, I cannot recommend them. They estimated $1200. We got another estimate and it was $350 for spring and lubricant. Also, the new repairman we chose indicated Sunwest was charging /estimating for things we did not need. I would rate them a zero if I could. read more

Garage door spring broke this morning, so I called Sunwest Garage door and they said they would have someone out in a few hours. I was given a time of 1 to 4 pm. Bill showed up right about 1pm and installed 2 springs in no time at all. Excellent job, excellent company, and I highly recommend Sunwest Garage Door for your garage door needs. read more

Our neighbor drover her car through our door, so I called at least a dozen companies for an estimate. Sunwest was the only company that could match our door to our association specs. Unfortunately, we had to order the door to be custom made, which took about 5 weeks due to all of the latest shortages. Natasha in the office kept us up to date on the order process, then set up the install appointment once arrived. Jason and Josh installed the door, tracks and opener. They were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the product installed. They cleaned up after themselves and left the garage cleaner than they found it. Explained the programming and operation and answered all questions. Hope to never have to use them again, but I will call them if the need or referral arises. read more

You want quality service that is dependable, the value you get for your money to be worth it, the customer service to be top notch. Let me tell you that the two guys at Sunwest Garage Door are who you are looking for. Estevan and Craig were great. I had a door that needed some repair, not replacement and they were honest and up front with me. They felt I only needed a new motor and some adjustments. They were great and I have recommended them to a few of my family and friends. Thank you guys again for being such good people and working for a great family owned company. read more

Terrible, they told me between 12-4pm. I called them around 2 pm and they said they would be here by 4:00 pm. Brianna calls me around 3:42 pm and tells me they will be here by 6:00...?! I said are you sure because if you can't make it today just tell me...she says they will make it if I'm willing to wait. I told her specifically "are you sure"?! I'll wait if you guys are really coming...I should have known better, I wasted a whole day and I kept calling and no one returns my call...not sure why they just didn't say they couldn't come out...I could have asked other people to come out ...terrible and inconsiderate. If you like waiting around all day call them, they don't care about your time. read more

My parents' garage door spring broke after years of usage the day before so I called up Sunwest (used to be called Western) Garage Door Service since it was Western who originally installed the 5 section rolling garage door. Asia answered right away. Surprise to find out my parents' garage info was in their system (this isn't a fly by night company). Scheduling was easy and she even knew about the estimated cost for the parts and labor. Followed up with a phone call to let me know when they were on their way. The technicians showed up shortly, assessed the problem, provided the cost estimate (same as what Asia provided), and got to work. Made a recommendation to replace the old crappy rollers we had which were worn, but didn't push for anything unnecessary. The work was very professionally done, not rushed, and no short cuts taken. They explained how to properly maintain the garage as well as what trouble areas to look out for. Garage opens and closes very smoothly and quietly now. Would definitely use again and recommend to others who need garage door service. read more

We bought a house and we were told that there was a new garage door and garage opener. There was and then we hired a drywaller for the garage and he fouled it all up. Atr first it would open but not close and then it stopped working entirely. I was bummed. However, at looking at the opener I saw a little sticker for Sunwest Garage Door. I called them and am I ever glad I did! The kindest and coolest young man, DJ, arrived exactly on time and said, "We'll get this figured out. Don't worry". He couldn't have been more right. Within 10 minutes he had located the problem - told me the wiring had been crimped and cut and that he would completely rewire with new thicker gauge stuff at a very reasonable price. 45 minutes later he was DONE! I couldn't believe it. It was brand new again. Professional, courteous, helpful, honest and fair. Seems like rare qualities nowadays but you'll find them with Sunwest Garage Door. What a marvelous experience. Thanks DJ! Thanks Sunwest! read more

I was recommended Sunwest Garage by a neighbor:) How grateful we are. Another company was going to unnecessarily charge us over $2000 to replace an entire garage door and motor, when all we need was a support beam to prevent further cracking of one panel. It fixed the problem. The two gentlemen that worked on our garage, worked fast...like fast. They were very professional and kind. We highly recommend Sunwest Garage Door Company! read more

Prompt, professional, knowledgeable, courteous and efficient are just a few of the words I could use to describe Sunwest Garage Door. I have been doing business with these guys for many years and have nothing but good things to say about them. After my ancient Genie garage door opener stopped working this Tuesday, I called Natasha, who sent out a technician the following morning. Ryan Gross showed up at the scheduled time, promptly diagnosed my problem, explained all of my options, installed a new opener within the time he promised and patiently answered all of our questions. My hat goes off to Ryan, Natasha, and to your entire organization. In a time when excellent customer service and care is sorely lacking, Sunwest Garage Door still does things the right way. Great job, you guys! read more

Contacted business yesterday. Spoke to scheduler who provided me a tentative quote/estimate day for later this week, then said she had something sooner, which I agreed with for today, 1-5 pm. She also texted me some photos of possible styles I was interested in getting for my new garage door. I was thoroughly happy for the earlier timeframe. Today at 4:10 pm, I texted her to confirm someone was still coming. She called me and said she recalled our conversation from yesterday, but she did not write down or enter that appointment information into their books. Nor did she schedule anything into their books for later this week. She tried to explain to me that she was the only one in the office, etc. I told her, "One call and one customer at a time." I ended the conversation because I was very frustrated that a highly rated company could possibly be this negligent with a possible client. Yesterday, I was excited. Today, not so, as I am spending time writing a negative review instead of a positive. Sorry Sunwest, not my fault. read more

Very responsive. They were able to come and fix our damaged garage door same morning! Fair price and outstanding service.

I'd like to compliment Sunwest Garage Door Service and Ryan Gross for the excellent service they provided me last week. Sunwest installed a new garage door opener over a month ago. Unfortunately over the Labor Day weekend the unit stopped working. I sent an email to Sunwest on Sunday. Early Tuesday morning after the holiday I received a call from Sunwest that a technician would out that morning Ryan immediately diagnosed the problem. A new garage door opener was installed problem solved. Ryan also took the time to walk my wife through on how to program the remote's. His professionalism and ability to get to the bottom of the situation exceeded my expectations. We have all had our share of mediocre service from companies in the past after the sale. Sunwest gets it. They realize that in today's marketplace, consumers have a greater number of choices than ever. It's the service after the sale that separates Sunwest from all the rest. Such a commitment to great customer service is to be commended. You can be sure that I will continue to do business with Sunwest for years to come. read more

I can not say enough good things about Megan, Craig and Sunwest Garage Door! Their promptness, professionalism as well as excellent workmanship was the BEST! An early morning emergency with the garage door spring going bad and the door not opening caused MAJOR panic. Another great find from Yelp! Believe all the 5 stars for this company. We came home to a broken garage door. It wouldn't go up all the way and realized the spring had broke. I looked online and came across this company with high reviews and decided to call them. It was a Friday and I knew there would be a good possibility that we might have to wait until Monday to get it fixed. I was happy to hear that they would be able to come out later that day. Two technicians came out, very professional, and they were able to fix the garage quickly and efficiently. They were so nice and even were entertained by my curious boys who kept on peeking into the garage to say hi and try and talk to them. Thank you for your professional staff and team and for coming out so quickly to fix our door! Highly recommend this company and will use them in the future for any garage door issues! read more

I'm normally too lazy to write reviews, however the fact that I'm writing a review for Josh at Sunwest should speak for itself. They installed a new spring system for me back in June however there were some mishaps with the cables on the garage door & some panels shifting causing the garage door to not open correctly. Josh at Sunwest came out the next day to repair & fix everything free of charge for a job that I'm sure wasn't easy. Merci Josh for your quick & excellent work & the good people at Sunwest for their quick & professional service. They stand by their work & it shows. And Josh deserves a raise & a few tacos. read more

My garage door wouldn't open, I called and spoke with Natasha who was very helpful and said I would be the first call and she would let me know when the repair guy was on the way. So he suggested a new garage door opener. I said yes since mine was last installed in 1997. Craig was friendly, professional and Installed my new opener. My garage door would work sometimes, stop working for a few days, then start working properly again. I kept putting it off because I didn't want to spend an afternoon waiting at home for an appointment, since the issue wasn't too much of an inconvenience. I wish I had called Sunwest sooner, as a result of my great experience with them today. I called mid-morning and a real person picked up the phone, who happened to be an owner of the company. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The questions he asked gave me confidence that they would come to try to fix the issue, rather than try to just sell me a replacement. They were able to send Ryan the same afternoon. He looked at the door motor and diagnosed the issue within a few minutes. He advised me on my options and told me he had a replacement part on the truck. No sales gimmicks, ZERO pressure, very friendly and fact based. Their prices seemed very reasonable and fair -- he started the work and was done within 15 minutes. All the positive Yelp reviews are true about Sunwest. I will surely call them again and would recommend them highly. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers who helped me find them. read more
