I called Sam's Garage to book an appointment. They had one available within 5 days. Robert came out to assess my garage opener situation and unfortunately couldn't change it that day due to not having access to the parts needed to fix it. I was extremely disappointed. Robert spent his time with me and shared the options I had...and he promised me he would take care of me within the week by Friday at the latest. I waited for the call back for the new appointment and did get it but it wasn't going to happen within the week. I was devastated. I took the later appointment. In January 2025, this company replaced two garage door springs for my garage door. Unfortunately, it appears the job was not completed properly because the door was never balanced after the spring replacement. Since that visit, my garage door has had problems opening fully. It would frequently stop halfway, and I repeatedly had to adjust the opener travel limit just to get the door to open completely. At the time, I did not realize that garage doors must be properly balanced after spring replacement, so I assumed it was an issue with the opener. Recently I learned that door balance should always be checked and adjusted when springs are replaced. When I manually tested the door, it was clearly out of balance, which likely explains the problems I've been dealing with since the repair. I called the company to schedule an appointment. I did not expect any warranty repair since it has been about a year, but I hoped they would at least acknowledge the issue and take a look at the door. Instead, the receptionist/owner immediately insisted that their technician definitely balanced the door at the time of installation and focused only on the fact that it had been a year since the service. During the call, she accused me of yelling at her, which I did not do, and then hung up on me. This was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. A properly balanced door is a basic part of replacing garage door springs, and the way this situation was handled afterward was even worse. But a month later the issue started happening again. So we called Sam's and Jesse came back out. He was so kind. He tightened one of the wheels, replaced a hinge, and did some other maintenance and now it works perfectly. He did not charge us for the second trip. First American Home Warranty dispatched one of their team members, Mike, to my home to fix a broken spring. unfortunately, he was a bit rude and condescending during our exchange (the first thing he had said to me when we met was "How old are you?") although i was a little put off, i thought that his clipped responses and other interesting remarks were part of his usual demeanor or maybe he was having a bad day? so i tried taking it with a grain of salt. fast forward, while he is installing the new springs i overheard him take a customer call where his tone completely changed and he was super polite and nice to the other person on the line...nothing like the Mike i'd recently met! to make matters worse, while he was doing the job he started chucking various large and loud metal parts on the ground as he was taking the springs apart. if my garage had concrete floors i wouldn't really care but i just had my floors freshly epoxy'd as i was about to ask him to refrain from doing that he cut me off and said "ma'am i do not want you in this area, please move over there" at that point i was too uncomfortable to say anything, so i hoped for the best, and just steered clear and passed the time until he left. (unfortunately my home office is in garage so it was a little awkward lol) he did complete the job though, which i'm very grateful and thankful for. i can't quite speak to the quality of the work yet since it was finished very recently but i do pray his disdain towards me did not compromise the job results read more

We needed to know what we were in for. We sweat over this decision for many weeks before we chose Sam's. SO happy we did! The employees are incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, clean, respectful, organized, and quick to respond - especially post install, which is where it really matters. We have personally worked with Jesse on a few occasions and can't fault him for anything. The install was super clean. Wiring was professional, as well as the physical install, where there was no damage or marks remaining after. They did a complete walk-through and when they left, there was nothing in the way of trash or debris to be found. Such respectful guys. On top of that! The admin staff is the same! Totally pro and very easy to work with. No attitudes when we asked for help or to fit us in in a pinch when something I did caused an issue. They always have gone above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. You can't get that anymore anywhere. Many companies that employ dudes performing physical labor have very low standards for entry and quality. NOT THE CASE HERE. Any one of these guys could carpool with you and take your job at corporate! They are articulate, super well groomed, polite..everything your wife wishes you were and y9our mom raised you to be. AND the same dudes show up every time - no turnover or guys working at a job they don't care about. I just can't praise them enough. Everyone we have interacted with on every occasion has made it a good, personal transaction. Bottom line is they care. BTW, this review is years overdue. THe garage door has been flawless for years. TOday, our torsion spring broke, rendering the garage unaccessible. THey fit us in last minute and came out, doing another stellar job. The springs are only rated for about 10K cycles, that's quite a lot. Ours outlasted that by over 1K cycles! The springs tell the tale of the install. If they fail prematurely, the install was less than perfect.. Bravo! read more
