These guys always come through and they're als an old hometown establishment. I replaced my opener and my two car garage door at different times. Each time they on time, worked professionally and completed the job on schedule. Any tweaks or minor servicing will bring Victor out is a decent time. This time, my opener was operating very slowly. rather than coming out to take a look and charging me for a service call, he told me to check my power source. that was it! Chose Omar's Garage Door because I prefer to support local business: The installer showed up in the time window.  I opened the gate and let him get to work. About 10 minutes of him unloading his tools and material, he set all of this directly onto my newly finish epoxy flooring without any protection.  He then began staring at me through my back door window.  I went outside to find out what was going on.  He then begins to tell me about a problem with the height of the tract and it is conflicting with the side door, and the factory is closed Saturdays so he cannot get parts.  So, I ask him if we need to call Victor and reschedule the installation so that he can get all the parts he needs.  He tells me no I will figure it out.  I said OK and went inside.  I work in commercial construction and you don't walk up to the owner and start telling them of all the issues when you already have solutions to the issues.  No job is ever a straight box build, you always have issues that need resolution. That is why you hire a professional company.  If it were easy, I'd do it myself. He and his coworker get to work installing the garage door.  They completed the installation and loaded our old door.  We spoke about the remote and the indoor panel button and then he left.  We went and opened the door, closed the door, and then went inside the garage with the door closed to see the ambient light.  Then we left and thought nothing else of the garage.  Sunday our contractor contacted us to punch walk our recently remodeled garage so he could complete any items Monday.  We walked in and began looking thoroughly over the garage.  We notice about 5 or 6 spots that the epoxy flooring was damaged.  No one had been in the garage since shortly after Omar's Garage Door crew left. Monday, we sent photos to Victor to report the damage.  He sent the information to the office manager Chris.  Later that day we get a call from Chris telling us that the damage she sees in the picture is effervescence.  She said she sent the pictures to a flooring contractor and that is what he told her.  We went back and forth over the phone for a bit.  She said that her crews didn't use anything in our garage but a drill and couldn't have caused the damage.  I watch the guys and I know what I saw, they had several toolboxes, ladders, the panels of the door, and the track.  I asked her how they supported the steel garage door panels as they unboxed them and prepared them to be installed, and she changed the subject. She then went on about how there is a crack in our garage floor and there is touch up in the photos.  So, now she is an expert in epoxy flooring garage floors.  So basically she stated, without sending anyone to come and look at the damage in person, that they were not responsible.  She told us she was just trying to get to the truth and how dare we accuse her crew of causing damage.  This is completely unprofessional and a complete lack of customer service skills. I contacted our contractor, and he came to our house and reviewed the damage.  He stated that it was clearly impact damage as the epoxy was not pealing up and flaking as is common with effervescence.  The concrete was hit hard with something as the concrete is chipped. I contacted the manufacturer of the epoxy and sent them the photos.  Over the phone they confirmed that the damage was from impacts. Omar's garage door did install the garage door and it is nice and works properly.  However, they failed to protect our home causing damage and their customer service in resolving the issue is lacking.  I do not recommend their service as there are plenty of companies available that can provide quality service and care about the customer. read more

My garage door would start going down but when it almost reached the bottom it popped back up open again. I cleaned the sensors and there was nothing blocking it so I called up Omar's. They came out in a short time. His name was Frank. He was very nice, very efficient, very polite. He figured out that the frame was bent and it was catching so he went out and got new pieces and put them in, and only charged me $50 +200 for the service call. I was expecting it to a cost a lot more. I'm very pleased with their service. They were prompt, efficient, and very reasonable. read more

This review actually starts with a review of Mesa Garage Doors: So i needed a bottom seal replaced on our garage door which Mesa installed over ten years ago and I needed a dent fixed in the bottom panel. The tech came out to look at what i needed and said that it was too old and that they couldn't just replace the bottom panel, that they needed to replace the whole door, that's when i laughed. I asked him about the bottom seal as well when he replied that they don't make that either anymore. SO I LAUGHED again, I said alright hit me with it, what's the cost for everything you are trying to upsell me with, he said it would run about $2400 to get a new insulated door installed to my specs... I looked at him and asked him to leave. I believe that they have no intention on fixing these doors they just sent out a sales rep to get a new one sold to me. Its sad really because I would have paid a reasonable cost to get it fixed, which is what I am doing with a local smaller company. Its kind of sad because many years ago I had a great experience with this company and the installation process, the tech came out and went out his way to install the door to my request and the door works great except for the cosmetic changes i need addressed, oh well. Update: I got a local company to come and take a look at my door and see if they could knock the dent out a little and replace the bottom weatherstripping. Victor at Omar's Garage doors in Lakewood, CA. said they can replace the bottom panel and adjust the rest of the door and include new weatherstripping for $500, I said sure. He came out a couple days later with a new panel and installed it, we both thought the color would be off because the old panels were basically over 10 years old, but nope the new panel is almost perfect. So whatever you do don't call the this company find yourself a local company that will stand by the products they sell and warranty them as well. read more

Completely ignored after the unit was installed and I needed service on the door that would not close. Less than two weeks after installation. Called on a Friday for repair. The lady took all my info and I was told that they would be here on Saturday morning. NOPE! I call on Saturday, then the owner took all my info and was told that he would be here on Monday between 2:00 and 4:00. NOPE! It's been 6 (4 working days) since I reported the problem. Still no service person and no call back. Must note that this business is literally 2 miles away from me. This place is not a professional business. I would give 10 stars if I could!..... for the following reasons: 1 - I have had a previous bad experience with a previous garage door service company and was initially wary of going through another unknown service provider without having a recommendation from a friend. 2 - My initial call was returned within a few minutes and I was surprised to find out that on a Saturday Victor could come out within a couple hours to take a lot at my garage door issue and provide me with a free estimate. 3- I got a call after only approx. 1/2 hour advising that he was in the area and could come by within 20 minutes and when I told him OK he showed up shortly thereafter. 4- Victor and his son were very knowledgeable and quickly found a resolution to provide a repair. Since the garage door needing service was an older and smaller wooden access door at the rear of my garage (but still fairly heav)) he advised me that due to the age and condition of the door for our safety I consider replacing it with a lighter door (similar material as our large main garage door). He gave me a written estimate showing the estimated cost of the replacement but did not pressure me in any way to make an immediate purchase. 5- Both he and his son were professional, honest and courteous! I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing garage door repair or replacement. They exceeded my expectations and I am confident that when I am ready to replace this garage door with a new door they will be the ones that I will call! read more

And since I'm a DIY, I asked for and received a "no frills" estimate for a new 16' x 7' sectional door including install and hardware only. Victor was very obliging. We worked through all the questions and answers for what I would do and Omar's would do. Victor even came back a second time to confirm some measurements and install details. He provided a fair price and the next thing I knew it was installation day (less than a week had transpired including my decision time). Called Omar's, and within 30 minutes Victor was at my house and gave me quotes to fix the problem, or even do whole new door/motor if that's route I wanted to go. After discussing with my spouse, I asked Victor about a different option than we had discussed with his initial visit, a new side mount motor, but we needed a certain amount of space for it, so he came back later that same day to measure. We ended up just repairing the door and using our old motor. Next morning, a technician was out, and fixed the problem with our door within an hour. I am very pleased with this company. Chris took the call. She is Omar's daughter. Friendly and informative. Since I have three garage doors at my home she worked with me for a charge that was reasonable. Frankly came to perform the service. He was on time and even called to let me know when he would be on his way. Sometimes when a company gives you a window for arrival it is hard to plan your day. Not with this company. Frankly showed me where I had a problem with the placement of a storage cabinet near one of the doors. Don't know how I didn't see the part of the door rubbing as it rolled up. Frankly was willing to help me move this cabinet. Most service guys would say this isn't part of the job. Luckily I move furniture for a living and I had my crew come over to take care of the reorganizing my cabinets. Overall, really impressed with his attitude. This attention to service is not something very common anymore. I had this experience about two months ago. I thought my door was making too much noise so I called to have them come back out. Same experience. Great! It seemed my concern was unwarranted. No charge for quick visit. What more can you ask? My next door neighbor had referred me to them. I will refer them also. My garage door was installed probably about six months ago, when it was first installed it was very quiet you could hardly hear it very nice and then all of a sudden one day just quit working I don't even know what was originally wrong with it but I called them out to fix it and they charged me $150 which I thought was totally ridiculous because it was supposed to be under warranty. Come to find out they only put under warranty for the first year is the motor now when he came out to fix it all it said was that he adjusted it and tuned it up and that was $150. And ever since he tuned it up it doesn't sound the same when they sent the bill out to my contractor I really didn't want to pay it because I was really pissed off I ended up paying it but I will never use their service again if you're going to get a garage door make sure you do your research to find out that everything is under warranty. I signed a contract for $2500. Victor was very clear on what siding was going to be replaced. After he spoke on the siding, I again asked what was being replaced so I made sure I understood correctly. He confirmed both sides. The day of the installation I noticed that the installer only had 1 siding of treated wood. So I asked the installer to make sure both sides where to be replaced. He said Victor only said 1 side per his text. His text is not the contract, let's make that clear. So Victor then called me and wanted $200 more. I told him no way. So he decided to split in the middle $100. Of course it needs to be done in order to look right. So I was forced to do it. I was 100% clear on what was to be done. And he then changed it on the day of install. If you can't trust what's on the contract and you have to make sure they write down every little thing and there word means nothing, be Extremely careful. I would not recommend them. I called in a couple months ago regarding my garage door I wanted replaced. I called in on Friday and got Victor to.come give me a quote the very next day. I told him that I wanted to make sure no water would come in from under the door when it rained ( I did not have this issue with my.old door and I wanted to keep it this way). I was told by Victor that would not be an issue. On the installation day I had no issues with the man who installed the door .He was very polite . I asked him again if there was going to be an issue with water coming in . He also said no. A few days later it poured and water indeed came in through the bottom of the door. I immediately called Omar's and spoke with Victor. He said they never guaranteed that water would not come in and it shouldn't be a lot . I then explained to him that it was more than a little since this was the 4th time in the day I mopped my garage floor to remove the water and placed rags by the bottom of the door. I also told him the actual dopr.did not go all the way down and there was indeed a small gap between the door and the floor. He said he would have someone from the company come and lower the door some.more to avoid that issue. I also asked him if a could have a copy of the receipt since I was not given one the day of installation . He said when they came to fix the door they would give me one. This was on a Sunday and he said in would get a call by Tuesday to set up a date and time . I called back Wednesday and again spoke to Victor. He again said someone was coming . This has been over 2 months ago and I'm still waiting on my receipt and this so called "someone" to come fix my door. Although the prices are decent I would not recommend this place due to the lack of good customer service. It is getting a 2 star since the guy who installed it was nice. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! This is a company that's in it for the money and not for the service! I had to call to find out if my garage door was in. Spoke with Victor who was surprise that Chris, Omar's daughter, hadn't call me yet to set up an appointment. It took two more days before Chris finally called to set an appointment. I accommodated Chris's schedule and the date was set for 04/12/18 between 11:00 and 12:00. Installation day came and no one showed or called. I called Victor at 11:55 to find out what time he was going to be there and Victor said he had contacted Chris 45 minutes earlier and told her to call me to let me know the garage door didn't come in. I never received a call from Chris. It took two more attempts of me calling before Chris returned my call. Received a call at 12:17 p.m. from Chris, Omar's daughter, who first lied about not knowing the door hadn't come in and I called her out on her lie. Chris than confessed the reason she didn't call me was because she had personal errands to run and didn't have my phone number on her. Chris said she would find out when the door was coming in and let me know. I never got a call back. AT 4:56 p.m.I texted Victor to find out what is going on and asked for the owner, Omar, to call me. Omar, the owner, called my husband instead of me and my husband had him on speaker. I chimed in and Omar began to yell at me, however Omar never apologize to me or my husband for their errors. We asked Omar to compensate for our time or give us our deposit back and Omar said he would not do anything for us because the manufacture won't discount the door for them and he was going to keep our deposit. Victor who was the only person who understood my frustrations and was apologetic changed his demeanor the next day. Not so nice. Buyer beware! read more

I recently was having issues with my garage door not opening all the way. I contacted Mesa Garage Doors and they came out, barely took any measurements and hit me with an approximate $1200 estimate to get a new motor, etc. Obviously, I immediately knew I was going to get a second opinion and luckily drove past a sign for Omar's Garage Doors. Their representative came out to the house and after a short inspection, stated that it looked like we just needed a tune-up. With an online coupon, it would come out to $150! So, they sent another guy out that same day to do the tune-up and my garage door is back working perfectly! Honest, professional and timely service! Who can ask for anything more! We will definitely be sharing our experience with friends and neighbors, as we often share and use the same professional contacts (i.e. neighborhood electrician, pest control, etc). Now we can add Omar's Garage Doors to our list!! You won't be disappointed! read more
