Zovko Bros is a family-owned business that performs state inspections and general repairs. In fact they keep my 1995 Geo Prism running beautifully despite my often indelicate and irresponsible treatment of the poor, dear thing. I've gone there for my inspections for the past several years and for some major and minor repair work as well. Each and every time I could not have been happier with the results. I LOVE these guys. They are super nice and respectful, not intimidating, fair, and fast. They do GREAT WORK and they will not charge you and arm and a leg to do it. Because they are located at the corner of 25th and Carson, you can kill time at the nearby South Side Works. So shop, eat, watch a movie - and one of the guys will call you on your cell when your car is ready. Write them a check and drive off into the sunset with your motor purrin'.

They wanted $1100 to fix all of that in order to pass the inspection. I told them to fail the inspection and took it to an independent mechanic. He was able to do this all for $200. Do not go here. They will overprice you so much. They will exaggerate any issues that are on your car and try to make unnecessary notifications.

They called about 3 hours later and let me know it was done. When they realized this was the only issue, they decided not to charge me. I really appreciate their transparency and good will. Will definitely use them for future car needs because of their honest service. Advise calling in advance for an appointment.

I chose this shop because of the many positive reviews and I wanted to support local business…read more However, I had a very disappointing experience. Lack of Transparency, Disrespectful and Unprofessional. That's all I have to say about Tao. I brought my car in for a simple job: Replace the AF sensor (B1S1) to pass emissions, complete the inspection, and check a loose bracket near the rear wheel. I clearly explained the order of work. However, the wrong sensor was ordered, and the emissions test was performed before replacing it - resulting in a failure that COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. I had to comeback for re-inspection after replacing the sensor (about 200 miles running). Instead of addressing my original concerns, I was presented with additional costly issues (axle, brake caliber, spark plugs). This was confusing, as I had recently passed a PA enhanced inspection at another shop, and none of these issues were mentioned. I also double checked my maintenance paperwork at Lexus Dealer, my spark plugs were replaced at around 142,000 miles (current mileage ~183,000), which is within their normal lifespan. The spark plugs will usually last for 80,000-100,000 miles. A second shop confirmed there was no issue with them - a full diagnostic were performed. Moreover, the loose bracket, which is the first thing I asked him repaired, was NEVER FIXED. I don't think he did even pay attention to it. Communication was poor throughout. Calls and emails were not returned, and updates were unclear. When I asked for clarification about the new findings, in-person, the response felt dismissive and unprofessional rather than helpful with: "I can't say anything about other shops doing", "Do you trust me?", "Do you want to do it or not?". For the re-inspection (even with an appointment), I had to wait about 2 hours. After reviewing other 1-star feedback, it appears this may be a pattern - customers come in for a simple service but are advised to complete additional, costly repairs without clear explanation. I understand businesses need to make money, but customers deserve transparency, proper communication, and respect. At minimum, the original concerns should be addressed clearly before introducing new issues. Overall, I felt pressured into unnecessary repairs without sufficient explanation. I would recommend BE CAREFUL and NOT FALLING ON low inspection prices or some "good" high/five start ratings.

I had been a loyal customer for 11 years. Until recently, they provided consistently…read moreabove-and-beyond excellent service and always gave fair and honest accessments for all my car repairs needed on a mini cooper and mini countryman. When the countryman died of engine failure at over 110k miles, in June I purchased another older mini cooper. This is when our relationship changed. It was burning oil at an alarming rate, smoke was coming out of the exhaust, almost always after idling for a lengthy time and sometimes upon starting the car. I had it accessed by Murrysville Auto and a part replaced with the stipulation being that might and might not resolve the issue pointing to possible engine issues. Fair enough. I was glad to have honest information to make the decision. When it still exhibited smoke from the exhaust, I immediately made another appointment to have it reaccessed. This time, instead of Cody (owner) who always had relayed the information to me in the past, his mother, Jerrie (President) gave me info stating no further repairs were needed or recommended, that it was burning oil and the solution offered was for me to simply check the oil EVERY DAY. At this point, I questioned outloud to Jerrie in person if they were trying to tell me they didn't want my business any longer. She assured me that was not the case. We then talked and, with Cody in the conversation, as well, a rebuilt engine was found with a cost of installation being 15k. I agreed, thinking a total engine replacement would fix the issues. Before I could pay, I needed to transfer funds for next business day. In the meantime, a new light came on -- the engine reduced power light. This was a new symptom and my research showed it might mean more than an engine alone. I could not, with this new info, afford to pay 15k and not have a total solution so canceled the order for the engine. Now, Murrysville Auto lets me know the seller of the engine was charging a restock fee of 1600. This restock fee was not divulged to me on my paperwork which is unlawful and non-binding in PA. To just be done with the transaction and move on, I agreed to pay 1600. But then, Cody tells me it is actually more than 1600. I stand by the 1600 relayed to me and pay that. Soooo, bottom line I stand by my intuition that Murrysville Auto wanted to sever business relations with me, though I had been a long-time loyal customer and always paid my repairs in full, on the spot, with no questions on pricing or suggested repairs until this car purchased in June, less than 3 months and less than 1500 miles ago. By having Jerrie and not Cody give me the latest non-repair advice of simply checking oil EVERY.SINGLE.DAY which is ludicrous to charging and not divulging a restock fee (first, I would never back out of a contract except I had new vital info), it seems obvious that I will not be continuing my service with them for this car or any other. I have no idea what changed to come to their final ways of doing business, but it is what it is. They are not the same trusted business that I came to trust and rely on all these years.

I first brought my car to Murrysville Auto Clinic (MAC) so long ago that I honestly can't remember…read morethe exact year--it's been at least 15 years. What I do remember, however, is that from that very first experience onward, they have always treated me with honesty, respect, and fairness. That kind of consistency is rare, and it's the reason I've remained a loyal customer ever since. Over the years, I've recommended MAC to colleagues, friends, and even my own family members, including my father. A couple of them mentioned that they thought MAC might be "a bit too pricey," but I've always felt that was an unfair assessment. In my experience, their pricing is not only reasonable but also reflects the quality of their work and the integrity of their service. When you're dealing with something as important as your vehicle, "cheap" is not the standard you should be aiming for--fairness and trustworthiness are. And that's exactly what MAC delivers. One of the things that sets MAC apart is how often they've gone above and beyond for me. On several occasions, they've helped me out without hesitation and without expecting anything in return. That kind of generosity and customer-first attitude is almost unheard of in the auto repair industry. To me, that's worth far more than saving a few dollars at a shop that might cut corners or treat customers like transactions instead of people. My car is now 22 years old and has plenty of miles on it, yet it still runs like new. That's not luck--it's the direct result of the care and expertise of the team at MAC. They've kept my vehicle reliable and safe far beyond what most people would expect from a car of its age. That kind of outcome doesn't happen without skilled, dedicated mechanics who take pride in their work. What I value most about MAC is that they've earned my trust. In an industry where it's notoriously difficult to find honest and competent mechanics, I know I can rely on them to give me straightforward advice, do the job right, and treat me fairly every single time. Their loyalty to their customers is unwavering, and that's why my loyalty to them has never wavered either. In short, MAC is more than just an auto repair shop--they're a team of professionals who genuinely care about their customers and their community. They've earned my respect, my gratitude, and my continued business. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who values honesty, fairness, and quality in auto care.

I had a mixed experience at Bastone's, where I went (on an old family friend's recommendation) to…read moreget a wheel arch repaired. The positives were that they were able to get me in very quick and were, overall, friendly and professional. I do think they know what they are doing. The major negative was that the final price came out nearly twice the original quote: close to $600 instead of the original $320. This was, I was told, because an additional part had to be sourced and installed. While I was already disappointed in this unexpected cost doubling, the icing on the cake was that I wasn't asked if I wanted to proceed with the repair. I was just informed that the cost had jumped, that the repair was complete, and that I now needed to pay up. This suggested to me that the original assessment of the damage had not been as thorough as it could have been. While a quote is an estimate, not a certainty, it's not good practice for businesses that run on quotes to let customers pay twice what they were originally expecting. In this situation, for instance, I would have appreciated a discount on the unexpected new part. That might have eaten into their profit margin, but it would have guaranteed that I would become a return customer, whereas now, I am not so sure.
