We were in town for the Barrington Levy concert and stopped here to eat beforehand. The food was really yummy. I had the spatzel. House mad noodles are always a very special treat. It had a surprising amount of kick to it which just added to the deliciousness. Their sausage speaks for itself.

Friendly, attentive, and very knowledge staff. Great menu offerings (with vegan friendly options) and good seating options. I especially like that every beer is served in its own branded glass - makes you feel like you're in a tent in Germany.

The Oktoberfest beer was great but I really like the way they poured my Helles. Exceptionally great with how he poured it with the perfect amount of head. Food is always great at all locations!

When we got a spot outside, the table across had just ordered Das Boot (Google it if needed). The bartender was going over the rules and expectations and made it a unique and fun moment. I immediately knew this was gonna be a decent choice for us out-of-towners. Fun, chill spot for some German fare and brews. Service was friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating area was laid out well and comfy even though it was just picnic tables. I'll be heading back at some point soon, as the main reason we went (and why I can't give 5 stars yet) was for the cabbage rolls. Sadly they were out... oh well I'll try the Brussel sprouts... nope out of those too ‍ Damn. What we did have was really good, though. My favorite was the Gulasch... potatoes w beef in a thick tomato sauce, seasoned well served with a rustic bread. The schnitzel was huge and filling but the German potato salad fell flat; they were good, but more like home fries. Having a Full German Oma (grandma) I know Germans potato salad and was really looking forward to something more authentic (room for improvement?) The wifey loved her Rubensalat, a simple and fresh beet salad w goat cheese and more. She found a dessert that's sounded insanely good, and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Apfelschnecken, think cinnamon roll meets caramel apple and chantilly cream... super good! If, on the next visit, the cabbage rolls and brussel sprouts are spot on, I can see easily bumping this to 5 stars.

Fun place to watch the Euro Cup and COPA America. The outdoor seating area is nicely laid out. Servers are nice and helpful. Food is very German and tasty!

If you don't have time to travel to Germany no worries Visit Prost .... The best German place in the west. The food is authentic and very affordable and delicious So many different German beer choices and it's being served in a glass from that specific brewery. The service from Cole was outstanding as well.

5 stars, a rating I haven't awarded very often in my seventeen years on Yelp (except for national parks - they almost always get five). A PNW small chain (Seattle, Portland, Boise and now Bend), Prost ticks off all the boxes for me. Prost Bend: - Inviting space with good seating inside, at the bar or on their patio. - Ambience is laid back with great music playing not too loud. - Bier! Where else are you going to get steins of German beer? And German beer is still pretty darn good even in these times of great craft breweries seemingly everywhere. I'll probably have to join the stein club. - Interesting menu. It's sometimes a challenge for me to find more than a couple of things I'd like to try (I don't eat pig which leaves out anything with bacon). Not here. My vegetarian wife will struggle a bit with the menu but there are a few things for her as well (they could improve on that). - Service is top tier. Friendly, attentive. - Prices are reasonable, especially for the beer. I'm a fan.

We ordered weinerschnitzels and they were okay, a little overlooked/dry and, like many restaurants in the area, a bit overpriced. We've been to the Prost in Portland and didn't have any complaints, but this visit in Bend fell flat for us.

Half the fun is searching the property for it--and don't worry, I won't spoil where we found it! Once inside, it truly felt like a hidden gem. The space is cozy and intimate, with comfortable places to sit and a full bar that feels tucked away from the rest of the property. It was especially festive during the holidays, with Christmas drink specials adding to the charm. I ordered the NA Merry Cherry, which was gingery, slightly spicy, and super refreshing--a great non-alcoholic option. My wife had The Countess and said it was absolutely delicious. Between the atmosphere, the drinks, and the fun of discovering it, The Broom Closet was a total win. Great view of the river, well spaced out seating. Lots of picnic tables for big groups. Where it turned was the very unfriendly bar staff and honestly the inedible food. I went to order 2 more beers for my hubs and I, and the chilequiles starter and bartender/staff where you order did not try to upsale me to add chicken in which I definitely would have because they were so boring and bland! She then said is that it? In a very annoyed manner. Not is that all for now? Or even somewhat attempting to be friendly. It caught me so off guard! I took a second to glance around behind the bar and the entire energy was like they were annoyed at having to do their job. Ewww She then turned the screen to tap my card (it's getting offensive to ask for a 15-25% tip for pouring 2 beers or making a coffee- I'm a nurse and I don't get tipped every time I answer a call light) so I hit costume tip, added a $1 and I swear she looked up and mean mugged me. My husband went back up later to order burgers (I sure wasn't going!lol) and we shared the wagyu bacon burger and I literally could not take more than 2 bites because it was soooo salty. And this is 2 beers in, my palate was probably dulling). Like someone literally accidentally spilled the entire salt jar on the burger. I tried to pick off the pickle to eat that and even that just tasted so off and salty. I would definitely go back to have beers and vibe but not to eat and I'd probably make my hubs order the beers so I don't chance getting mean mugged by the staff

Bad news. Good news…read more Bad news first is this: The Drake has been sold to new owners and TONIGHT, APRIL 12, WILL BE THE LAST DAY OF SERVICE at The Drake with the original owner and the current menu. So if you're hankering for the mac n cheese or shrimp n grits or veg burger or any of the menu items, after today they are history. I started eating at The Drake in their first week of business and had many, many, many meals there over the years but things change and so, it seems, has the popularity of The Drake. Now the good news. The new owners are a trio and one of them is also one of the owners of the inestimable Ken's Artisan Pizza in Portland that opened its' Bend location last year. (Go! Even if you have to stand in line for 45 minutes like I did.) The first news of this ownership change was that they would keep the name and current focus of The Drake. But local television news reports that after The Drake closes today it will be reimagined with a new name and design and menu. The opening for the new place is currently said to be Memorial Day weekend. I don't live in Bend anymore but there is still a family home there and so I visit on occasion and knowing a "Ken's" owner is involved in the new enterprise may make me brave the wicked-bad downtown parking to try this new place. In the meantime, I remember how fun and delicious it could be to eat at The Drake.

The ambiance was cool, very welcoming and everyone was happy to recommend their favorites. We noticed that there were Argentinian items on the menu and my boyfriend, who is Argentinian, was super excited to talk to them about it. They told us all about their story and the owner who is still working even into his 80's because he just loves what he does. It was interesting to see the incorporation of the culture into this type of food, and it was incredibly delicious too! They gave us some chimichurri with bread and the dulce de leche cheesecake! Which were both incredibly good. I had the chipotle mango sausage on top of mac n cheese with grilled onions, bacon, and a side of chimichurri and refused to leave anything on my plate. Mac and cheese was great, especially with the chimichurri and the chipotle mango was great spice level, it was a light spice. The choripan special was great too.
